Our monthly look at the Top Releases on Steam is back, with July in the starring role! As with previous lists, this one highlights the Top 20 games of the month based on their first two weeks of revenue. We've also ranked the top 5 free-to-play games based on number of unique players acquired after launch.
All three FINAL FANTASY classics made the cut this month, with more planned in the future. New graphics and audio bring the originals back to life, with the same timeless story and retro feel. And those aren't the only JRPG games earning their way onto our Top Releases list for July. Other top JRPG releases this month include Ys IX: Monstrum Nox and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
Genres galore!
Speaking of Monster Hunter, this adventure JRPG is also based on a third-person open-world action hack-and-slash game… and it’s not the only top release this month spanning a unique range of genres. Mini Motorways brings a minimalist strategy simulation; Starbase features a massive multiplayer open world building game, and Swords of Legend Online takes MMO and adds action RPG to the mix.
Welcome New Devs
Finally, we can't let a Top Release list go by without congratulating the teams who are releasing on Steam for the first time. While some of them have been making games for a while on other platforms, others are making their very first commercial game. To all these development teams, we offer a big welcome to Steam, and congratulations on a successful Steam debut!

Over the last few weeks, the Steam Mobile team has released improvements and bug fixes for a handful of store pages, as we work toward releasing a new version of the mobile app.
Starting today, we’re testing out a new layout for store game pages on mobile phones. We’ve streamlined the layout to be more mobile friendly and easier to read. We’d like to know what you think.
These changes are live now. So the next time you browse to a store game page on your mobile phone, you’ll see this banner at the top of the game page.
If you’d like to send us feedback or report a bug, tap the banner to go to the Steam Mobile Forum.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a robot voxel slice-em-up where any part of your body can be sliced off. With your mind downloaded into a robot gladiator, you must survive the sinister trials of the arena.
Riding high on the excitement of the annual Steam Summer Sale, we're happy to announce Steam's Top Releases for the month of June. As with previous lists, we look at every game released during the month and highlight the Top 20 based on their first two weeks of revenue. We also highlight the top 5 free-to-play games, ranked by the number of unique players they acquired after launch.
With the release of fresh single-player games like Going Medieval and SCARLET NEXUS, June's Top Releases have families and friends begging each other for a turn. But for those having trouble sharing, we suggest taking a look the huge variety of content this month featuring unique multiplayer experiences. Join friends in an attempt to survive the perils of being stranded in Muck, or assemble your own starship crew to explore a chaotic-randomized galaxy in Pulsar: Lost Colony. If you're feeling less cooperative, GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- makes for the perfect opportunity to pick a fight with friends and foes alike.
A number of these multiplayer releases also take full advantage of Steam's Remote Play Together functionality, which allows friends to connect to multiplayer sessions without even launching the game. The feature was recently updated as well, now letting players join these remote sessions without even having Steam installed. So grab that invite link and hop into a session with friends today. Roguelike-like?
Games with 'roguelike' tags showed up in a big way during June, with numerous titles making successful debuts as Top Releases. Like other tags on Steam, players often discuss whether or not games have the elements required of the 'roguelike' tag. With each game providing unique aesthetics and differences in design, it's no wonder there is debate over how they should be tagged. The good news is that the tagging system is flexible in allowing many to be applied, while also letting players create brand new tags. Recent examples include 'traditional roguelike', 'roguelike deckbuilder', and the creative-hybrid 'roguevania'. Check out the full list of June's Top Roguelikes for all the details.
Welcome New Devs
As we've done with past months, we'd also like to welcome the development teams who are bringing a product to Steam for the very first time. A big congrats go out to these teams on their successful Steam debuts.
