TyranoBuilder just received its first major update which adds numerous new features and fixes, including Live2D. Details are below, but first...
PLEASE NOTE!! Every effort has been made to ensure that projects made with the previous version of TyranoBuilder will be completely compatible with the updated version, we 100% rule out the possibility of an issue coming up depending on particular projects.
To allow for this, we have taken two steps:
1) TyranoBuilder will automatically detect projects created in the previous version and offer to create a backup before converting to the new build. Please backup your project just to be safe!
2) The previous version of TyranoBuilder will still be available as a Beta version from your Steam Library. To access the previous version, right-click on TyranoBuilder in your Steam Library, and go to Properties > BETAS and select Previous build from the drop down menu. Please revert to this version if you find that your project has incompatibility issues with the current build.
All righty then, here's what is new to TyranoBuilder:
Live2D functionality *
Cloud saving (up to 1gb)
Online asset library with sample assets (characters, backgrounds, Live2D models & more to follow in future!)
Character art resizing within positioning tool
Character art mirroring
Scenario file duplication, deletion and renaming
Branch button resizing and positioning by drag and drop
Spaces can be used in labels (they are converted to underscores)
'Complete before Proceeding' option added to Join / Exit Scene
Create New Project settings can skipped/agreed to by pressing Enter
Various localization tweaks and fixes
* We're particularly excited for the Live2D functionality. This can REALLY take your visual novels to the next level! Visit the below link check out the Live2D tutorial, preview how it works, what it does, and see some demos:
We’re excited for Live2D of course, but also very happy about other improvements such as character resizing within the positioning tool (phew!), and character mirroring! Sooo satisfying :)
We hope you enjoy the update! There will be more to follow as we continue to improve and refine TyranoBuilder. If you have any feedback or suggestions for new features, please drop a note in the official suggestions thread at the link below:
Also, a quick heads up: we’re planning a pretty big visual novel development contest which should kick off by the end of this month. It will have a pretty generous development period (likely a couple of months) and some nice prizes, so now might be a good time to work on those TyranoBuilder chops in preparation! ;)
That about covers it for this update. Please leave any comments or feedback in the discussion group.
