    • When selected, a confirmation will appear to make sure you want to leave and hop directly into the last Freeplay Arena you played.

      • When the party leader leaves, other party members will see a “Party Leader Left” message. A new toggle has been added under Gameplay Settings to enable or disable the display "Party Leader Left" Message option, based on player preference.

    • Selecting Fast Freeplay while in a party will not break your party, but it will not take your party members with you either.

    • The Fast Freeplay button can be rebound in the settings and will not appear in Private Matches.

Exact Amount Offer

      • The ball launches quickly upwards on contact, then floats gently back down, mimicking the feel of hitting a balloon into the air!

    • Airtime

      • The ball emits lightning each time its point value increases.

    • Scoring Rules

Rocket League® - Psyonix_Laudie

Looking for somewhere to meet up with your friends? You can’t beat hanging out at the Boostfield Mall! This new Arena will be open all-hours during Rocket League Season 20 launching September 17.

If you’re going for a day out at the mall, you probably want something fashionable to wear. There’s something to suit all styles in Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium, from the macabre Goth Trail to the comically cheery Yes! Goal Explosion.

The Pass also features two American classics that are always in vogue. Automatically unlock the Pontiac Firebird Car Body when you purchase Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium. Later in the Premium Tiers, unlock the Chevrolet Astro Car Body!

Additionally, you’ll unlock the Mad Rad Wheels just for logging into Rocket League during Season 20. If it looks like these were made out of a mall arcade’s carpet, you may be onto something.

Let’s Go to the Arena… Today!

Shop ‘til you drop? More like boost ‘til you break! Make Friday nights unforgettable by going on a soccar spree at the Boostfield Mall Arena with your BFFs. Anyone wanna catch a movie after the match? Or maybe we can just watch the replay.

4v4 Gets an Upgrade

We’re dialing down the disarray in 4v4 and turning up the strategy. This mode will feature two larger arenas that‘ll better accommodate eight players. The number of boost pads will increase and the layout of them will change to improve the flow of matches.

This mode will have a Competitive version for the duration of Season 20, marking Rocket League’s first new Competitive Playlist in almost seven years! The upgraded 4v4 will also be available as a Casual Playlist.

Revamped Rocket Pass Progression

We want your Rocket Pass progress to be as seamless as an all-in-one shopping complex, so we’re making some changes in Season 20:

  • Drops from Challenges will be replaced by XP.

  • There will no longer be Premium Challenges. All Challenges will be available whether you’ve bought Rocket Pass Premium or not.

  • You’ll earn twice the amount of XP per second from Online Matches, and you’ll be able to earn XP in Private Matches.

  • For Weekly and Seasonal Challenges, the average XP per Challenge will increase. Total XP across each week’s Weekly Challenges will stay the same. Total XP across each Seasonal Challenge Stage will decrease.

Change to Competitive Playlist Access

To access Competitive Playlists, new accounts will have to complete New Driver Challenges instead of reaching Level 20. These Challenges will measure player’s skill, placing them in an appropriate starting rank when they unlock access to Competitive Playlists. This should help new players get into Competitive Playlists sooner. It should also reduce instances of smurfing to help ensure fair and fun matches!

There’s still more work to do to combat smurfing, but we’ll keep you updated along the way.

Tournament Reward Preview

Speaking of competitive play, Season 20 features a fresh slate of tournament rewards! Here’s a peek at some of ‘em:

Rocket Pass Premium

Rollerblading down the street. That awkward goth phase. Dippin’ nuggies without a worry in the world. Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium is a road trip through your deepest but most cherished memories! Crank up that analog stereo and joyride through the Premium Tiers.

Some cars never stop looking good, and Pontiac Firebird is a perfect example. This timeless American automotive legend will be unlocked automatically when you purchase Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium! And get in, we’re late for soccar practice. Chevrolet Astro is also in Rocket Pass Premium!

NOTE: Pontiac Firebird uses the Breakout hitbox, and Chevrolet Astro uses the Merc hitbox.

Someone call security, people are driving crazy in Boostfield Mall! Get things back in order with the Mall Cop (Pontiac Firebird) and Mall Cop (Chevrolet Astro) Decals. A classic fixture of the mall is the arcade. Show you’re a veteran at blocking a ball with the Pinball Wheels

Soccar can sure work up an appetite. Take your food court order to-go with the Corn Dog Antenna and Nuggy Goal Explosion! If that’s the flavor blast you needed, go for a color blast next with the Color Rush Boost. All that color make you shudder? Try the aforementioned Goth Trail instead.

Battle-Cars and retro game consoles have one thing in common: they both run on blast processing. A certain chili dog loving speedster is runnin’ fast in the Rocket Pass, with rewards including the Sonic Sidescroller Player Banner and Sonic Looper Wheels! Look out for even more Sonic the Hedgehog later in Season 20 — this’ll be here before you know it.

If you still got the retro gaming itch, celebrate your goal with pixelin’ slitherin’ by having the Snake Score Goal Explosion equipped!

All the rewards mentioned above are just SOME of what’s in the Season 20 Rocket Pass, which has 70 Tiers of rewards across free and Premium.

Here’s a quick reminder on how Competitive Rewards work. After completing ten matches in the same Competitive Playlist, you’ll be assigned a rank based on your performance. You can then climb the ranks by winning matches, though you’ll also descend the ranks if you lose too many!

Win ten matches at any rank tier (Bronze, Silver, etc.), and you’ll become eligible for its Competitive Rewards — even if you’ve dropped to a lower rank tier by the Season’s end.

Turn the ignition, start the competition. Celebrate the Rocket League World Championship with 2025’s Champions Road, starting now and ending September 17!

Update on DDoS Protection Measures

  • We have a new set of server-side DDoS protections in the works, including refining the detection system to catch match disruptors, that will be rolling out in the next few weeks. We’re also doing regular sweeps to remove cheaters from the in-game global leaderboards.

    • We’ll give an update on our social channels once the new set of protections go live. Thanks for your patience while we continue making improvements under the hood to ensure fair play online for all.

Changes and Updates

Xbox Series X|S - 120 FPS Fix

  • We’ve restored 120 FPS support on Xbox Series X|S following a regression that occurred in our recent v2.54 update. Thanks for hanging in there while we fixed this.

Other Fixes

General

  • The "new” notification for the Item Shop now properly disappears.

  • Fixed an issue where queuing for multiple game modes could’ve led to queuing a non-selected game mode.

  • Split screen guest players on PC are no longer blocked from accessing Competitive Playlists.

  • Fixed an issue on PC where players may have experienced a buzzing sound and encountered a crash before entering gameplay.

Plus, learn about the early Champs Road tourneys!

As you zoom around the arena, keep your eyes peeled for more than just the ball. Rocket League’s first-ever Echo Item, the Rave Roller Wheels, is up for grabs starting August 21! To nab it for yourself, all you’ve gotta do is bump into a driver in Echo Playlists who owns the Wheels.

Plus, we’re almost at the starting line for 2025’s Champions Road! But before the whistle blows on September 4, the tournaments are starting ahead of time… Read on for all the dates! To celebrate Part 3 of Rocket League Season 19, there’s a trunk full of Twitch Drops just waiting to be unlocked like the Big Splash Goal Explosion. Part 3 of the Season starts August 21!

Echo Chase

See it, bump it, unlock it! We’ll be granting some of Rocket League’s developers and top players the Rave Roller Wheels — and you can get these fluorescent rims for yourself! Just hop into an eligible playlist and give another player a friendly (or, if they’re on the opposing team, not so friendly!) bump. If that player owns the Wheels, you will too.

You’ll find the Wheels waiting in your Garage after the match. Wanna look extra flashy? There are also the Rave Roller (Gold) Wheels! Unlock these by bumping into any player who has the Rave Roller Wheels, right after a goal has been scored. You’ll know the player has the Wheels if they give off an Echo aura after someone scores a goal!

If you unlock the Rave Roller (Gold) Wheels but don’t have the base version, you’ll also unlock the base version.

Both versions of the Echo Item are unlockable August 21 at 9 AM PT ‘til September 3 at 11 PM PT in specific Casual Playlists (“Echo Playlists”). It’ll start out in Arcade and Chaos, but it may echo to other Casual Playlists as we get closer to September 3!
