RISK content creator Nordic_Noob has launched Fighting for Freya to raise awareness of children battling Morquio Syndrome, a rare and life-threatening genetic disease that also afflicts his 6-yr old niece.

In his own words, Nordic_Noob shares:

"My name is Atlas, though many in the Risk community know me as Nordic Noob.

This video marks the beginning of something far bigger than me — it’s the start of Fighting for Freya, a movement to raise awareness and hope for children battling Morquio Syndrome, a rare and life-threatening genetic disease.

Freya is my niece — a bright, funny, unstoppable little girl who faces more medical challenges in a day than most of us do in a lifetime. This video tells her story, and how together we can fight for a future where kids like her don’t get left behind."

September’s been a busy month for us, and we’re just getting started. 

Here’s what’s happening:

Our latest update brought long awaited changes to Balanced Blitz Dice and bot outs as well as lots of bug fixes and a brand new Community Map Pack, featuring four new maps designed by community members.

This month we hit a major milestone, our first international closed beta of the upcoming network overhaul.

Behind the scenes players from over 50 countries are helping test the new network code, latency issues and logging bugs for our devs to tackle in the coming months.

Game Mode - Zombie Apocalypse

To celebrate Halloween, we’re unlocking Zombie Mode for all of October for all players - no premium required. 

There’s never been a better time to check out the game mode and drive those zombies back once and for all. To celebrate, we’re holding a zombie mode tournament in October with chances to win the new maps and more. Sign up here by October 5th. Read up on how to play Zombie Apocalypse here.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug where eliminated players could be incorrectly flagged as bots.

• Fixed a bug where eliminated players were unflagged as eliminated when spectating.

• Bot out rules should work correctly now in manual placement setups.

Community Map Pack

• Fixed continent highlighting on Abandoned Crystal Mines,

• Fixed incorrect sea lane layering in Drained Great Lakes,

• Fixed missing cloud VFX in Crown of the Skies,

Known Issues (these issues will have fixes in our next update)

• Botted out players must be eliminated completely to stop them earning higher placements.

• Non-host players will not always see bot icons on surrendered or permanently botted out players.

• Botted out players in Neutral inactivity behavior games will still deploy instead of skipping their turns.
