Tekken 7, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered and Civilization 6 are available to play for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers until the end of the week.

They're live now until 8am UK time on Monday, 29th March as part of a Free Play Days weekend.

Tekken 7 is the latest entry in Bandai Namco's long-running fighting game series. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered is the remaster of Criterion's excellent 2010 racing game, and Civilization 6 is the latest in Firaxis' superb strategy series.

EA has announced it will be pushing back the release of Criterion's next Need for Speed game by a year so the studio can lend development support on DICE's next Battlefield game.

At the tail-end of last year, EA revealed Criterion's new (and currently unnamed) Need for Speed title would launch in "fiscal year" 2022 - that is, somewhere between this April and the end of March 2022 - but the publisher has now announced it's shifting that release to FY2023.

The news was shared by chief studios officer Laura Miele in a post offering an update on several of the publisher's future titles. The catalyst for the post, however, is the next Battlefield, which Miele claims is "coming together to be an exceptional game...at an unprecedented scale".

EA Access - the Game Pass / PS Now equivalent from the mega-publisher - is now just 79p for a one-month membership. It's usually 3.99.

Available on both PS4 and Xbox One, the console version of EA Access gives you, um, access, to an ever-growing collection of EA games. While a subscriber, you can download and play as many of them as much as you like with no restrictions. If you choose to buy anything in the EA Access library, you'll get a 10 per cent discount, too.

Some of the more recent games available to play for your 79p include FIFA 20, Battlefield 5 and Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborhoodville. You can also dive deep into the EA back catalogue from last-gen, too, with some classics such as the space-faring Mass Effect Trilogy, taut horror Dead Space and the plinky-plonky satisfaction of Peggle.

Need for Speed Heat is getting crossplay.

Crossplay launches on Tuesday 9th June, making Need for Speed Heat the first EA title to offer the feature. Once you've installed the update, you can opt-in to race players across PC via Origin and Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is the final update for Need for Speed Heat, EA signalled.

Meanwhile, EA has announced the next Need for Speed game is in the works at Guildford studio Criterion. Back in February 2020, EA told GamesIndustry.biz that Need for Speed Heat developer Ghost Games was set to become EA Gothenburg once more as it transforms into an engineering hub to assist with EA's wider portfolio.
