We’ve got more details in the preview post, but here’s the quick run-down:
  • Snag the all-new Swim Instructor celebratory hat by completing a simple and completely safe work assignment.
  • Pick up all previous summer hats in case you missed out in years past!
  • Search for lost inflatable pool toys while down in the caves to earn yourself a delectable Double Performance Pass Point Bonus.
  • Soak up the summery decor in the Space Rig! And do not, under any circumstances, put the sand by the Abyss Bar in your mouth.
Have fun, and remember to reapply sunscreen every five minutes!

Hello Miners,

In space, there are no vacations. But when you work for a company like Deep Rock Galactic, the work is so fulfilling that you nearly forget you were even wondering why the contract didn’t say anything about time off in the first place.

Speaking of terrific mandatory work events, it’s almost time for the Space Beach Party seasonal event in Deep Rock Galactic! The party starts Thursday, July 31st at 13:00 CEST and runs for two weeks.

Here’s what’s coming:

The hat you have to work for

The best hats must be earned by the sweat of your own brow. Then you can put it on and absorb more brow sweat while you continue working, because that Bismor’s not gonna mine itself.

This Space Beach Party, you can earn the new Swim Instructor hat! Just complete the associated assignment in the Mission Terminal and it’s all yours.

Summery hats from years past

In case you are a new employee at Deep Rock Galactic, or you avoided your work responsibilities last summer, you’ve got old editions of Space Beach Party hats to collect.

Management has gracefully dug up some surplus stock for you to collect. Not for free, of course. Just one work assignment, and all previous Space Beach Party hats will be permanently added to your inventory.

Another pool floaty fiasco

Every other interplanetary courier firm was off on vacation, so the Deep Rock Galactic corporation was once again forced to enlist the services of Longbeard Freight to manage a priceless shipment of inflatable pool toys.

Unfortunately, in what many are already calling “the bummer of the summer,” those bunglers at Longbeard have once again crashed their freighter and lost the entire load of pool floaties throughout the caves of Hoxxes.

We need your help. During each mission, we’ll need you to locate and deposit a lost pool floaty toy. If you can help, Management will reward you and your whole team with a Double Performance Pass Point Bonus.

Sensational Space Rig decorations

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Space Beach Party without festive decorations. When the event starts, you’ll find the Space Rig fully decked out with tropical palm leaves, beach inflatables, water balloons and paper luau lanterns. We’ve even created a miniature beach at the Abyss Bar by dumping a mixture of sand and boron on the dance floor! Employees are encouraged to not stand on this mixture for more than 90 seconds.

The 2025 Space Beach Party starts on July 31st at 13:00 CEST. SPF 50+ recommended.

See you soon!

Hello Miners,

We have hopefully fixed the issue where mods would be disabled after reloading the game. In addition we also added a Refresh button to the modding menu, that should help resolve various issues when there are issues connecting between the game and mod.io.

With Love,
The Ghost Ship Crew

— PATCH NOTES —

- Fixes issues where some had mods disable when reloading the game, forcing them to enable their mods everytime they started the game

KNOWN ISSUE: When refreshing on the modding menu, it will say mods have been disabled due to a crash. This is just an UI issue with the prompt, as mods are still loaded

Hello Miners,

Just a quick bulletin from the board game front: MOOD Publishing is releasing a new set of expansions to Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game!

New depths, new horrors, and new rivals are coming to the tabletop edition, which is getting three new expansion packs this summer. You can expect new gameplay depth and replayability, plus a whole new range of miniatures – including more original creatures unique to the tabletop universe.

Here are the three new expansions in a nutshell:
  • Rival Incursion: The Rivals have made their way to the tabletop. Face off against Patrol Bots and Burst Turrets as you fight the Rival scourge, and take on the dreaded Caretaker in a board game boss fight.
  • Horrors of Hoxxes: Four familiar DRG biomes make their way to the board game, bringing their own environmental hazards and unfriendly wildlife – including the Dreadnought Arbalest and Lacerator twins.
  • The Shockwyrm: This mini expansion introduces an original creature, a formidable burrowing worm that attacks at close range with stunning electrical jabs. Stay on your guard, and don’t leave the insulated gloves at home.
MOOD's Kickstarter for this project has just gone live today. If you’re interested, you can check out (and back) the project here.

That’s all for now -- we’ll be back in a few weeks to kick off the 2025 Space Beach Party. Stay tuned. Rock and Stone!

--- PATCH NOTES —

Hello Miners,

We have made some changes to how modding behaves in DRG, as well as updating the Mod.io API. We have moved Modding from the menu in the Spacerig to the start of the game on the info screen. The idea behind this was to reduce potential errors that could happen because of hot loading mods. We have kept the modding menu in the Spacerig, but as view-only so players can see what mods they have active, but no changes can be made on this menu except loading back to the info screen.

Since the Mod.io API has been updated, we now also have an ingame mod browser, as well as the option to use your preferred browser. The API update should also have several years of fixes for the plugin.

With Love,
The Ghost Ship Crew

--- PATCH NOTES —

- Updated modding behaviour

- Added missing hit reactions on enemies

- Fixed Glyphid forelegs not being blown off when killed by explosions

- Increased visibility of Unknown Horror when in Medium and Low Effect Quality.

- Added content for upcoming events

- Updated game credits with latest translators

Hello Miners,

It’s been quiet on the Deep Rock front lately. As you might know, our development team has been fully focused on Rogue Core (read the latest dev diary blog post here).

But we haven’t forgotten you. Our marketing team has joined forces with Heroic Replica to fulfill one of our most frequent fan requests: loot bug plushies.

Heroic Replicas, the official purveyor of Deep Rock Galactic merch, is gearing up to bring you a second batch of brand-new DRG goodies. A lovable lootbug and Steeve plushies are the headliners, but there’s plenty of other gold nuggets coming too!

This new merch wave also includes:
  • A plushie “Molly” M.U.L.E. (doubles as a four-can cooler)
  • Fuzzy dangling danger dice
  • Baseball caps and knit beanies
  • Foam stress balls (shaped as an Alien Egg, Gunk Seed, Barrel, and Loot Bug)
But wait, there’s more! Mark and Aaron are here to give you the goods:

All these new merch items will be available for pre-order in the Deep Rock Shop in August. But if you’re interested, you can already snag what you want at a delectable extra discount via the Heroic Replicas Kickstarter, which just launched today.

Down below is a full run-through of the new merch in handy image format -- we hope something strikes your fancy. Wishing all of you a lovely summer, and until next time!

With Love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew

Hello Miners,

The eggs are back. There are dozens of them. Hundreds, even.

At a time when the world is more focused on eggs than ever before, we thought it would be apt to bring back the ultimate in egg-centric celebrations: The Great Egg Hunt.
That’s right, eggheads. The Great Egg Hunt is coming back to Deep Rock Galactic on Thursday, April 10th, and it’s bringing a veritable eggload of goodies and professional development opportunities along with it.

It’s time to count our eggs before they hatch. Here’s a preview of what’s coming – and if you’re interested, there’s some Rogue Core news down at the bottom.

A new hat for your health and pleasure

You can’t spell The Great Egg Hunt without “hats!”

Well you can, but it wouldn’t make a very good segue to talk about hats. Speaking of hats, we’ve got a new one for you. The college kids down in R&D have spent the past year pushing the envelope of noggin-covering technology, and their proud result is the Winged Buckaroo.

Want it? You’ll have to work for it. We’re a mining company, not a hat charity. You can earn it via the Great Egg Hunt assignment in the Mission Terminal.

Historic hats of Egg Hunts past

Celebrating The Great Egg Hunt with just a single hat would be like making an omelet with a single egg. Ridiculous! Only a child would be satisfied.

Fret not, miners. Management, in their boundless generosity, has approved the release of a cache of headwear from previous Egg Hunt celebrations. If you forgot to collect these earlier editions, now’s your chance! Complete the Last Year’s Spring Fashion assignment and you’ll get all of them forever.

Wanted: Adorable bunnies, dead or alive

Despite their track record, Management decided to once again entrust a load of Mechanical Spring Bunnies to the infamous Longbeard Freight Company. But to our great dismay and surprise, those buffoons have biffed the job once again! Another Longbeard vessel has been lost with all hands over Hoxxes, and its payload is now scattered throughout the caves.

These confounded rabbit toys are making a horrible racket, and it’s disrupting our Deep Scan activities. If you see one while down in the caves, shoot its lights out and deposit it in the M.U.L.E. to earn a Double Performance Pass Bonus for your whole team.

The Space Rig has been egged

If you thought last year’s egg budget was excessive, you wouldn’t believe what this year’s seasonal decorations cost the company. Management has forked over a small fortune to deck out Space Rig 17 with lovely pastel lights, adorable bunny garlands, inflatable carrots and a bounty of decorative eggs. As always, the eggs are to be appreciated from a safe distance.

While the eggs have been unusually expensive this year, please don’t be concerned that these eggshorbitant eggspenditures are cutting into Company profits. Management has wisely found room in the annual budget by eliminating wasteful spending on laundry, cleaning and sterilization services in the Medical Bay.

News from the Rogue Core desk

There’s been a couple things happening over at Rogue Core Ranch.

First, we’ve got a new Rogue Core trailer coming next week! We’re premiering it on April 10th at 18:00 CEST as part of the Triple-I initiative. You can tune in to watch the live reveal on Youtube and Twitch. More on all that here.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2605790/view/534345486851637807?l=english

And earlier this week, on April 1st of all days, we put out a goofy Rogue Core video. If you love to smile and laugh and have fun, you can watch it here:

But wait, there’s more! There’s also a new Below Decks behind-the-scenes article, which explores the design process behind the Reclaimer gauntlets you see in the video. Give it a read if you’ve got the time and interest.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2605790/view/534345939582715197?l=english

That's it for now! See you all next week to offer you an egg in this trying time.
Once again, The Great Egg Hunt starts on April 10th at 13:00 CEST, and it'll run for two weeks.

Hope everybody's doing well -- Rock and Stone.

With eggs,
-The Ghost Ship Crew

Hello Miners,

Just coming with a quick bulletin from Ghost Ship Publishing: SpellRogue, one of our publishing titles (developed by Guidelight Games), will be leaving Early Access and launching into 1.0 on April 24th.

If you haven’t heard of SpellRogue, it’s a dice-based roguelike deckbuilder game where you roll dice (and manipulate and enchant them) to power up spells in turn-based combat. Think Dicey Dungeons meets Slay the Spire.

You can wishlist it (or buy it while it’s still in Early Access) right here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1990110/SpellRogue/

Cool! That’s all from the Publishing desk. Hope everybody’s doing well out there.

With love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew
