Hello Miners,

The eggs are back. There are dozens of them. Hundreds, even.

At a time when the world is more focused on eggs than ever before, we thought it would be apt to bring back the ultimate in egg-centric celebrations: The Great Egg Hunt.
That’s right, eggheads. The Great Egg Hunt is coming back to Deep Rock Galactic on Thursday, April 10th, and it’s bringing a veritable eggload of goodies and professional development opportunities along with it.

It’s time to count our eggs before they hatch. Here’s a preview of what’s coming – and if you’re interested, there’s some Rogue Core news down at the bottom.

A new hat for your health and pleasure

You can’t spell The Great Egg Hunt without “hats!”

Well you can, but it wouldn’t make a very good segue to talk about hats. Speaking of hats, we’ve got a new one for you. The college kids down in R&D have spent the past year pushing the envelope of noggin-covering technology, and their proud result is the Winged Buckaroo.

Want it? You’ll have to work for it. We’re a mining company, not a hat charity. You can earn it via the Great Egg Hunt assignment in the Mission Terminal.

Historic hats of Egg Hunts past

Celebrating The Great Egg Hunt with just a single hat would be like making an omelet with a single egg. Ridiculous! Only a child would be satisfied.

Fret not, miners. Management, in their boundless generosity, has approved the release of a cache of headwear from previous Egg Hunt celebrations. If you forgot to collect these earlier editions, now’s your chance! Complete the Last Year’s Spring Fashion assignment and you’ll get all of them forever.

Wanted: Adorable bunnies, dead or alive

Despite their track record, Management decided to once again entrust a load of Mechanical Spring Bunnies to the infamous Longbeard Freight Company. But to our great dismay and surprise, those buffoons have biffed the job once again! Another Longbeard vessel has been lost with all hands over Hoxxes, and its payload is now scattered throughout the caves.

These confounded rabbit toys are making a horrible racket, and it’s disrupting our Deep Scan activities. If you see one while down in the caves, shoot its lights out and deposit it in the M.U.L.E. to earn a Double Performance Pass Bonus for your whole team.

The Space Rig has been egged

If you thought last year’s egg budget was excessive, you wouldn’t believe what this year’s seasonal decorations cost the company. Management has forked over a small fortune to deck out Space Rig 17 with lovely pastel lights, adorable bunny garlands, inflatable carrots and a bounty of decorative eggs. As always, the eggs are to be appreciated from a safe distance.

While the eggs have been unusually expensive this year, please don’t be concerned that these eggshorbitant eggspenditures are cutting into Company profits. Management has wisely found room in the annual budget by eliminating wasteful spending on laundry, cleaning and sterilization services in the Medical Bay.

News from the Rogue Core desk

There’s been a couple things happening over at Rogue Core Ranch.

First, we’ve got a new Rogue Core trailer coming next week! We’re premiering it on April 10th at 18:00 CEST as part of the Triple-I initiative. You can tune in to watch the live reveal on Youtube and Twitch. More on all that here.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2605790/view/534345486851637807?l=english

And earlier this week, on April 1st of all days, we put out a goofy Rogue Core video. If you love to smile and laugh and have fun, you can watch it here:

But wait, there’s more! There’s also a new Below Decks behind-the-scenes article, which explores the design process behind the Reclaimer gauntlets you see in the video. Give it a read if you’ve got the time and interest.

That's it for now! See you all next week to offer you an egg in this trying time.
Once again, The Great Egg Hunt starts on April 10th at 13:00 CEST, and it'll run for two weeks.

Hope everybody's doing well -- Rock and Stone.

With eggs,
-The Ghost Ship Crew

Hello Miners,

Just coming with a quick bulletin from Ghost Ship Publishing: SpellRogue, one of our publishing titles (developed by Guidelight Games), will be leaving Early Access and launching into 1.0 on April 24th.

If you haven’t heard of SpellRogue, it’s a dice-based roguelike deckbuilder game where you roll dice (and manipulate and enchant them) to power up spells in turn-based combat. Think Dicey Dungeons meets Slay the Spire.

You can wishlist it (or buy it while it’s still in Early Access) right here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1990110/SpellRogue/

Cool! That’s all from the Publishing desk. Hope everybody’s doing well out there.

With love,

Tune in to today's anniversary dev stream

We’re doing our annual celebratory dev stream today, to mark DRG’s seventh birthday! It’s going to be a bit smaller than we initially planned, as we had some guest bail and the rest of us came down with the flu. But it’ll still be cozy. :)

Come join us at 14:00 CET today on Twitch and Youtube for a Space Rig house party, as the GSG crew shares some stories from the game’s seven years of development!

That’s all for now. Hope everybody’s doing well, and happy seven years in orbit. <3

Hello Miners,
While the hardworking devs at Ghost Ship Games have been hard at work on DRG: Rogue Core, some of us over in Publishing and Marketing have been helping other devs bring their amazing games to life and to Steam.

This time around, the awesome devs at Game Swing have a demo for Guntouchables out for all to try during the February 2025 version of Steam Next Fest.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2543510/GUNTOUCHABLES/

Check it out, we’ve been having a blast playing it. And, our very own Aaron has voiced all the characters in the game. Some of you might know him from our regular live streams.

To go along with the release of the demo, we are also making a series of videos providing new players with tips and tricks on how to survive the apocalypse - Brick Tips!

Check out the first video in the series here:

Thanks Miners, we hope you’ll give Guntouchables a try and a wishlist! We’ll be hanging out in the game’s server list and on their discord.

With Love,
The Ghost Ship Crew

Hello Miners,

It’s nearly time to celebrate another year in orbit!

Deep Rock Galactic turns seven years old this month. It’s been a heck of a ride so far – we couldn’t be more proud of the millions of tons of minerals extracted from Hoxxes and the hard-working dwarves that make it happen.

To recognize your invaluable efforts, we’re throwing a party! The ‘Seven Years in Orbit’ Celebration is going live in-game next week, on Thursday, February 27th at 13:00 CET. It’ll run for two weeks, after which all mining operations are expected to resume their usual tempo.

Here’s a preview of this year’s festivities.

Introducing the Skullcrusher Armor DLC

First up: There’s a new DLC armor set coming to town.

The Skullcrusher set brings you the ancestral armor of the Skullcrusher clan. They may be best known for brewing ale, but they bear the name for good reason. It’s said this ancestral armor still echoes with the call of the war horn – and yearns to be worn into battle once more.

You can find more details and wishlist this DLC below:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3481460/Deep_Rock_Galactic__Skullcrusher_Pack/

Exclusive hat alert

There’s no better way to celebrate all your hard work than more hard work! That’s what the latest DRG Employee Engagement Manual says, anyway. So to make this a proper party, we’re introducing the Party Hat - Year Seven headgear. This is a rare case of a time-limited hat – so if you don’t earn it by completing the associated Assignment, the opportunity disappears forever once this event ends. Get to it, miners!

Double XP on the job

Like all proper events, this one comes with a Double Performance Pass Bonus! While you’re down in the mines, keep an eye on your Terrain Scanner to find a hidden Year 7 Anniversary Trophy buried in the dirt. Dig it out, deposit it, and the rewarding nature of this experience will result in you coming home with double XP earned from the mission.

Free beer for all (Management begs you to drink responsibly)

A few weeks ago when we published last year’s workforce statistics, Management was very pleased to note that there was an overall decline in employees passing out on the job due to alcohol consumption.

Confident that the DRG workforce has learned its lesson about the detrimental effects of alcohol, Management has agreed to provide free beer at the Abyss Bar during these celebrations. You’ll be able to drink Oily Oaf Brew, Glyphid Slammer and Leaf Lover’s Special to your heart’s content! Cheers, miners.

The Space Rig’s looking sharp

As with all anniversary celebrations, we’ll be dressing up the Space Rig like a five-star hotel! The gilded marble dance floor returns, along with tinsel and confetti, balloons, and precious chandeliers.

Management expresses their sincere hope that these elegant decorations inspire you to work even harder in the coming year.

‘Seven Years in Orbit’ celebratory developer livestream

Every year, we also mark DRG’s birthday with a special livestream from the GSG crew. And you guessed it – we’re doing it again! We hope you’ll join us right after the event launches on February 27th at 14:00 CET for a cozy livestream from us to you.

Some years are bigger than others – and to manage expectations, we’re not gonna be revealing anything groundbreaking here. But we will have some special guests, and we’ll going live to reminisce on the years that have gone by, the path ahead, and of course to answer questions from you lovely folk.

So again, that’s Thursday, February 27th at 14:00 CET for the dev stream. Hope you can join us!

With love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew

Hello Miners,

If you’re reading this, we’re in a brave new era of beverages. The official DRG Abyss Bar mug Kickstarter is now live and open for all!

After repeated requests from Deep Rock Galactic employees, Management has finally approved some surplus Abyss Bar mugs for private sale. Now’s your chance to bring this iconic DRG drinkware into your own home -- or into the mines.

These mugs are produced by Scorched Steel Industry as an official collaboration with Ghost Ship Games. Created by their small team of industrial designers, these mugs are meant to be as strong as a dwarf’s work ethic, able to withstand a Deep Dive as well as a trip through the dishwasher.

Here’s what these mugs bring to the table:
  • 500 mL (16.9 fl oz) capacity
  • Suitable for hot or cold beverages
  • Dishwasher and microwave safe
  • Food-grade PA6 plastic
  • Impact-resistant construction (ideal for self-defense)
Scorched Steel has a few stretch goals planned for this project, too – so the more folks that support it, the more goodies we all get! You can expect additional color variants of the mug and some sweet accessories, like a solid metal Drop Pod bottle opener.

That’s all for now, miners.
Remember to hydrate regularly during your shifts! The mines are no place for a dehydrated dwarf.

With love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew (and Scorched Steel)

Hello Miners,

Great news for hobby statisticians: We’ve got our annual “Year in Review” statistics ready! Sorry it’s a bit late this year, someone spilled juice on the office calculator so we had to do it all by hand.

Management is very pleased with some critical figures: Overall employee deaths have decreased this year, for example. Fall damage is still the leading killer among DRG employees, but this year recorded cases dropped to an acceptable 32 million. Nice work!

As usual, any figures relating to workplace safety violations and employee complaints have been omitted, as Management deemed these numbers to be statistically insignificant.

Please enjoy the full statistics below, and know that the Deep Rock Galactic Corporation appreciates your contributions to this record year.

Rock and Stone!

With Love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew
