Deep Rock Galactic - GSG_Aaron

Hello Miners,

We just wrapped up another On the Horizon livestream to make some big announcements about Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core! And we're putting this article out to give you a tidy summary of everything we covered.

Here are the three big headlines:
  1. Deep Rock Galactic Season 06 is coming. Sooner than you’d think, too. We’re aiming for a release in Q1 of 2026.
  2. Rogue Core’s Early Access release is pushed to Q2 2026. We need more time to make it the game we want it to be. It’ll come out after DRG Season 06.
  3. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is now out on mobile. It just launched yesterday on Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
You can watch the whole broadcast here, or check out just the section focused on Deep Rock Galactic right in the video below. Then we'll get into all the details.

Deep Rock Galactic: Season 06 is coming soon.
For a while now we’ve said that we won’t be looking at Season 06 until we get Rogue Core out in Early Access. That wasn’t exactly true. We have been looking into it – we just didn’t want to make any announcements until we knew for sure we were running with it.

Season 06 is confirmed, and it’s coming before Rogue Core's early access launch (more on that later). We’re currently aiming for a S06 release date in Q1 2026.

The reason we’re now able to work on Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core at the same time is because we’ve brought in reinforcements from our neighboring Danish developers, Invisible Walls.

We’ve wanted Season 06 as much as anyone, but we kept having to face the fact that we simply don’t have enough people at Ghost Ship Games to work on Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core at the same time. We tried it and it was clunky and stressful. If we wanted to have our cake and eat it too, we’d either need to interview, hire and train 10-15 more employees… or we could ask for help from our friends.

Bringing in Invisible Walls was the natural choice for us. They’re people we know and trust, they’ve played loads of DRG, their office is a 15-minute walk from ours, and we feel like we’re aligned on what makes a good game and a nice working experience. All that makes it easy for us to work together. They’ve been talking with our programmers, game designers and artists for the past half year to learn the arcane ways of DRG’s code, and they’re taking on most of the work for this upcoming season, with direction from GSG’s Game Director Mikkel and Lead Game Designer Mike.

And it goes without saying that we’re very impressed with their work so far. So let’s take a closer look and see what’s coming in Season 06: RELICS OF HOXXES.

PLEASE NOTE: Everything you see below is still a work in progress. Final appearances, features and functionality can (and will) change before release.

NEW BIOME: Ossuary Depths

Some mothballed documents in the Planetary Surveys Archive make mention of a “Boneyard of Hoxxes,” but Management has always dismissed it as an early surveyor’s error. Speculation on this topic has been discouraged.

But recent Deep Scan operations have revealed blind spots on our planetary profile. Our picture of Hoxxes IV was incomplete – and we’ve discovered a biome that precisely matches those early descriptions of the boneyard.

Advisory to all employees: Deep Rock Galactic is currently preparing all departments to initiate mining operations in this new biome, officially identified as the Ossuary Depths.

All evidence suggests that the Ossuary Depths have remained virtually undisturbed for several centuries. The only proof that there once was life down here is the gargantuan bones piled in the caverns, now caked in centuries of dust. It’s quiet as the grave, more catacomb than cave.

But you’re not alone down here. You’ll be venturing into the home of the Ossirans, a species who thrive on collecting the countless bones that give the Ossuary Depths its name. Tectonic tremors caused by our Core-level operations appear to have disturbed the Ossirians. They’ve begun burrowing beyond their native Depths, tunneling into the rest of Hoxxes and bringing all the planet’s terrors into their once-lonely mausoleum.

Perhaps Management was right to stay away from this place.

NEW ENEMIES: Ossiran Scrab & Ossiran Pit Jaw

In addition to the usual host of enemies, mining operations in the Ossuary Depths will bring you up against a couple of nasty new specimens.

1. Ossiran Scrab
These scavenger drones are the ones stripping the meat off the bones of Ossuary Depths – but if disturbed from their work, they’ll gladly flay a dwarf too. What they might lack in size, they make up for in numbers. They tend to congregate in hive clusters.

2. Ossiran Pit Jaw
A larger, deadlier, more patient cousin of the Scrab. It’s a burrower, preferring to ambush prey with its massive four-pronged jaw. If you’re lucky, you might just see its jaws poking through the dirt before it’s too late. Early analyses from R&D described it as “A living bear trap” and “Like a cave leech in the floor.”

Watch your step.

NEW MISSION: Heavy Excavation

Season 06 also introduces a new primary mission objective, available in the Ossuary Depths and every other biome of Hoxxes IV.

A recent spike in tectonic tremors (completely unrelated to extensive Drillevator use during Deep Scan operations) has had unexpected consequences for our priorities here on Hoxxes. For one, these tremors appear to have disturbed the residents of the Ossuary Depths, causing hazardous complications for our operational profit margins. But they've also pushed invaluable deposits of Resinite Mass closer to the surface, giving us a lucrative new target for extraction.

In other words, you're going amber hunting. R&D expects these fossilized relics may give us a sharper understanding of natural life on Hoxxes, and the evolutionary origins of the Glyphids. Failing that, we can probably sell them for a fortune on the outer rim mineral market.

You’ll need to locate and excavate deposits of this fossilized treasure, and you can expect to find several deposits in each mission. Once you've found some, it's time to prepare the dig site.

When you've excavated around the Resinite Deposit, Mission Control will send down a supply pod equipped with four lift thrusters, which you'll need to fasten to the sides of the crystal. Once that's done, you just stand back and enjoy the light show while the thrusters laser-carve their way up to orbital extraction.

This new primary objective is set to be one of our more straightforward mission formats, a callback to the OGs like Mining Expedition and Egg Hunt. And, as a fun fact, the mission concept is almost as old as DRG itself. Some of the earliest recorded voicelines reference "calling down the thruster pods" for this mission.

NEW SEASON EVENT: Ossium Raid

The season event introduces the third Ossian enemy to appear on Hoxxes: The Bone Collector, a sort of insectoid prospector now liable to be found in any biome of Hoxxes. This passive creature will not attack on contact, focused instead on collecting remains for eventual storage in the Ossuary Depths. You’ll need to locate it and chase it down into the labyrinthian burrows where it hides its precious harvest.

Inside, you’ll need to locate the real treasure, which is a cache of crystallized Ossium. Management wants you to collect as much as you can – but don’t expect the Ossians to let it go without a fight.

NEW PERFORMANCE PASS

It wouldn't be a new season without a new Performance Pass. We'll be introducing another full tree of unlockable hats, facial hair, resources, and of course the season's new Weapon Framework: Diesel Driven.

This cache of antiquated company equipment has been sitting in storage for decades, still packed in the greasy wax paper from the factory. Waste not, want not, says Management – it’s now been approved for operational use.

...and more to come!
  • New victory moves
  • New dances
  • New pickaxe set
  • New DLC armor set
  • QoL tweaks?
  • Other cool stuff
Season 06 is currently set to release in Q1 of 2026, before Rogue Core launches to Early Access. Keep an eye on the Deep Rock Galactic Steam page for teasers and updates in the months to come.

All Season 06 content will be completely free as always, except for the DLC armor set. Quality feed for the office horse isn't cheap, you know.

Rogue Core's Early Access release has been pushed back a couple months.

Just like the headline says, we’ve decided to delay Rogue Core’s early access release a little bit.

It’s coming along nicely, but we think it needs a few more minutes in the oven. We’d rather push our deadlines than feel rushed or crunched to get it out. This way, we’ll have time to feel like we can give it everything it deserves for early access.

Our current aim is for early access launch in Q2 2026.

So what’s going to happen in the months until then? Our answer for now is whatever needs doing. We’ll be spending this time implementing more features and tightening everything up, but the specifics of exactly what we’ll focus on are hard to say. It’ll depend on feedback and data from our playtests, internal discussions, and good ol’ gut feelings.

In the Rogue Core segment above you can catch a walkthrough of some of the new features we're recently added. And we’ve also made an updated road map from now through Q2 2026, just to lay out a couple milestones. We’ll keep you updated along the way with anything especially important or interesting as it comes up.

Here's the new road map:

If you'd like to get updates on Rogue Core's development over the coming months, you can head over to the Steam store page and click the 'Follow' button.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is now out on mobile.

This is just a quick one, as most of our stream focused on DRG and Rogue Core. But ever since Funday Games launched the bullet-heaven DRG spinoff in Early Access in February 2024, “Bring it to mobile” was the number one fan request. Well, now it's here!

The mobile port of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor just launched yesterday, and you can snag it via Google Play as well as the Apple App Store.

It’s the same game as always, but now it's easier to play on the toilet!
Check out the release trailer.

That'll do it for now. What do you think? Let us know down below.
Hope everyone's doing well, and looking forward to sharing more Season 06 as soon as we can. :)

Rock and Stone forever!

Hello Miners,

Just a quick reminder that we’re only two days from our big On the Horizon livestream! And we'd love for you to join us. We’ve got some news about Deep Rock Galactic and Rogue Core that we think you’ll be interested in.

We were going to post a detailed agenda like we usually do, but we couldn’t figure out a way to share more specifics that didn’t end up spoiling the announcements we’ve got planned. Also we ran out of time. So, as the old adage goes, “F*** it, we’ll do it live!”

We’ve set up a video premiere on YouTube, so you can join in advance and catch the stream right when it starts. Steam won't let us embed a premiere-style video, so you'll have to click here to catch it on YouTube. We’ll also be streaming on Twitch too, and keeping an eye on both chats for your comments and questions.

It’s all going down this Thursday, November 13th at 17:00 CET.

Rock and Stone!

With love,

Hello Miners,

Four brave dwarves with no sign of fright

Went into the caves on a hallowed night

They dug too deep and made the call

That maybe Hoxxes is a scary place after all

They went back to the space rig to grab a beer

Because Hoxxes Halloween 2025 is near!

The spooky time of the year is back! Hoxxes Halloween 2025 kicks off on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 13:00 CET, and it’ll run until Thursday, November 13th.

Time to scare your friends with a frightening mask or get spooked by a sudden Glyphid Exploder (or a satchel charge) exploding right beside you.

Let's take a quick look at the haunting happenings on Hoxxes!

Armed to the teeth!

Your dwarven brothers are looking at you differently. Is it the new gun? Or your unwashed lederhosen? No, it's probably the extra teeth... or the fact that your new headwear smells exactly like you imagine a creature of the deeps would smell.

Complete a special assignment and you can be the proud owner of the Dawn of the Spawn headwear.

Haunting headwear haul

Regardless of whether you're a greenbeard or a veteran that missed out on previous celebrations, it's now your chance to acquire the dreadful trove of yesteryear's Halloween headwear. Complete the Last Year's Horrors assignment before the end of the event to acquire all the cosmetics from previous Hoxxes Halloweens

Skulls! Shoot them!

We've received reports of ghastly skulls haunting the caves. R+D is very interested in acquiring these supernatural specimens for various experiments, so management has agreed to award Double Performance Point Bonus in every mission where you manage to bring back a skull. But beware, their mere presence will chill you to the bone, so bring guns and/or friends when you go skull-hunting!

Spooktacular Space Rig

Management has approved a small budget for decorating the Space Rig with all the appropriately eerie adornments. Improvements to workplace safety were absolutely not included in that budget.

That’s all for now! Remember, Hoxxes Halloween 2025 kicks off on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 13:00 CET. It will run until Thursday, November 13th at 13.00 CET.

Rock and Stone to the bone!

Hello Miners,

Put on your Lederhosen and a Rocktoberfest hat and head to the nearest bar, because Rocktoberfest 2025 is now live in Deep Rock Galactic!

There’s dancing, drinking and questionable work environments on the menu. Rocktoberfest celebrations will last until Tuesday, October 7th at 13.00 CEST.

We’ve shared more details in the preview post, but here’s the quick overview:

  • Earn yourself the brand new Salted Snackmeister hat by completing an assignment that is almost considered not dangerous.

  • Grab all the hats from previous Rocktoberfest celebrations, if you partied too hard and forgot your hat(s)!

  • Help out Lloyd by bringing back a Best Wurst Beer mug from the caves. Management will award Double XP for helping save the cost of buying new mugs.

  • Abyss Bar? More like Abyss Barn. The Space Rig has been decorated with hay bales, sausages and pretzels. As tasty as they might look, they’re not edible.

Drink, dance and have fun. Remember to drink responsibly!

And in other news, Management have noticed excitement about the new mining intiative, so we are happy to announce that Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is coming to Mobile! Rock and Stone to the phone!

Hello miners,

It was the best of times, it was the wurst of times.

Management has approved the budget for exactly two weeks of Rocktoberfest starting Tuesday, September 23rd at 13.00 CEST. But just because it’s a celebration, doesn’t mean it’s a vacation. There’s no paid time off, and you pay for your own beer. Now let's see what's on this year's menu!

New Hat!
This year’s Rocktoberfest will introduce the new Salted Snackmeister, complete with dangling pretzels! Complete the event mission in the Mission Terminal and get your very own Salted Snackmeister hat, yours to keep forever.

Lederhosen back on the menu

If you don’t already have these fancy and festive Glyphid-leather trousers in your wardrobe, this is your chance to acquire them. Complete the ‘Hunt for Lederhosen’ Assignment and you’ll be the new owner of a pair of party pantaloons!

Hats from previous events

In addition to the Lederhosen, completing the assignment mentioned above will also grant you a fine selection of hats from previous Rocktober celebrations (Including both Oktoberfest and Rocktoberfest editions).

Best Wurst Beer

This timeless snack-in-a-drink special will be brought back for a limited time again this year, due to overwhelming demand that we’re still struggling to understand.

It’s the “Cheers” you can chew on!

Double XP

The Abyss Bar is short on Best Wurst Beer mugs, and new mugs are not included in the budget. Instead, Mission Control will award Double XP to any dwarf who brings back a Best Wurst Beer mug from the caves. We’ll give ‘em a quick rinse and they should be good to go.

Decorated Space Rig

Grab your dwarven friends and visit the decorated Abyss Bar, complete with kickable sausages, pretzels and hay bales. Enjoy a Rocktoberfest special, the Best Wurst Beer, and celebrate good times in good company!

Please drink responsibly, so you can get back to mining as soon as possible.

DRG: Survivor 1.0 is out today

Speaking of mining, we got quotas to fill. That's why another mining initiative is now available.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor launches into 1.0 TODAY! Grab your pickaxe and head this way:

So remember, Rocktoberfest goes live on Tuesday, September 23rd at 13.00 CEST and will run until October 7th at 13.00 CEST.

Hello Miners,

Time to lather up with Gamer Sunscreen, slap on your coolest pair of sunglasses and make a mad dash to the nearest coastline. Why? Because the Space Beach Party 2025 is now live in Deep Rock Galactic!

New hats, old hats, fun in the sun, and unpaid overtime await you! Hop in and check it out now – the event will run until Thursday, August 14th at 13:00 CEST.

We’ve got more details in the preview post, but here’s the quick run-down:
  • Snag the all-new Swim Instructor celebratory hat by completing a simple and completely safe work assignment.
  • Pick up all previous summer hats in case you missed out in years past!
  • Search for lost inflatable pool toys while down in the caves to earn yourself a delectable Double Performance Pass Point Bonus.
  • Soak up the summery decor in the Space Rig! And do not, under any circumstances, put the sand by the Abyss Bar in your mouth.
Have fun, and remember to reapply sunscreen every five minutes!

With love,

Deep Rock Galactic - GSG_Aaron

Hello Miners,

In space, there are no vacations. But when you work for a company like Deep Rock Galactic, the work is so fulfilling that you nearly forget you were even wondering why the contract didn’t say anything about time off in the first place.

Speaking of terrific mandatory work events, it’s almost time for the Space Beach Party seasonal event in Deep Rock Galactic! The party starts Thursday, July 31st at 13:00 CEST and runs for two weeks.

Here’s what’s coming:

The hat you have to work for

The best hats must be earned by the sweat of your own brow. Then you can put it on and absorb more brow sweat while you continue working, because that Bismor’s not gonna mine itself.

This Space Beach Party, you can earn the new Swim Instructor hat! Just complete the associated assignment in the Mission Terminal and it’s all yours.

Summery hats from years past

In case you are a new employee at Deep Rock Galactic, or you avoided your work responsibilities last summer, you’ve got old editions of Space Beach Party hats to collect.

Management has gracefully dug up some surplus stock for you to collect. Not for free, of course. Just one work assignment, and all previous Space Beach Party hats will be permanently added to your inventory.

Another pool floaty fiasco

Every other interplanetary courier firm was off on vacation, so the Deep Rock Galactic corporation was once again forced to enlist the services of Longbeard Freight to manage a priceless shipment of inflatable pool toys.

Unfortunately, in what many are already calling “the bummer of the summer,” those bunglers at Longbeard have once again crashed their freighter and lost the entire load of pool floaties throughout the caves of Hoxxes.

We need your help. During each mission, we’ll need you to locate and deposit a lost pool floaty toy. If you can help, Management will reward you and your whole team with a Double Performance Pass Point Bonus.

Sensational Space Rig decorations

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Space Beach Party without festive decorations. When the event starts, you’ll find the Space Rig fully decked out with tropical palm leaves, beach inflatables, water balloons and paper luau lanterns. We’ve even created a miniature beach at the Abyss Bar by dumping a mixture of sand and boron on the dance floor! Employees are encouraged to not stand on this mixture for more than 90 seconds.

The 2025 Space Beach Party starts on July 31st at 13:00 CEST. SPF 50+ recommended.

See you soon!

Cowabunga,
-The Ghost Ship Crew
