Brain Seal Entertainment

• Made the texture of the base floor slightly darker so it’s easier to see on the foundation at the beginning of construction.
• Reduced the rotation angle in the menu to the smallest possible value for more precise item placement.
• Fixed the water material in the jacuzzi — the foam now looks more realistic.
• Added Aqua Decor for decorating interiors and gardens.
• Added new natural stone textures.
• Fixed the decorative stone material — now it’s possible to change its texture or recolor it.
• Added many new plants and one new pot.
• Added large ventilation pipes.
• Added a viewing pipe as a decorative element.

Video - developer explanations

We'll let everyone in on a little bit of inside baseball. Back in July, we sent out review codes for Atomic Owl probably...three weeks before it was ready. Oops, but it happens! We had pretty strict embargos to hit, and figured we could fix bugs after we let reviewers play it. 

BIG MISTAKE! 

Those reviews that played a broken build are around forever and will temporarily define how the game is perceived (swimming in a 6/10 city.)

That being said, we've been hard at work addressing the most common complaints from reviews. Maybe get those reviews up to an 8/10! Most of the issues were related to the roguelite loop, visibility, voice acting, and some bugs here and there. 

So, with that, we now have...

✅NO ROGUELITE MODE. Play the game as if it were a normal sidescroller! 
✅Better UX for background/foreground + NPC vs. enemy visibility 
✅Weapons balancing! 
✅ Enhanced sound! 
✅Bug fixes!

Oh, yeah! For those who have already updated the game, you may have noticed a new achievement lying in wait. 

Owl Mania!

Owl Mania is a direct reference, in name and description, to the first game Elder ever played, titled Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse. Sega Genesis. 1995. What a time. 

The achievement is actually for beating the new 'No Rogue' mode, which basically turns Atomic Owl into a shorter, more linear experience like...well, Mickey Mania, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Tomba! or something. 

I hope everyone enjoys playing around with the new mode, balance fixes, and diving back into the world of Judanest.

• Flak weapons now properly trigger on missiles
  
• Some weapons were not what they said they were

• Ship stat bars had their colors changed to be more uniform / more contrast

• Bullets - Extended range but reduced damage
  
• Lasers - Higher tier lasers do less damage and also cost more energy
  
• Missiles - Now very long range weapons but are out damaged by most other weapons
  
• Pulse - Reduced damage output, but changed ship acceleration/deceleration to get in range more easily
  
• Railguns - Extended range with uniform cooldowns
  
• Repulsors - Now deal heat and electrical damage and also do less damage. In a one on one fight with bullet weapons they'll usually win
  
• Flak - The multi-firing angle was changed to have a tighter spread and go further
  
• Microwave - Velocity changed
  
• All ships - All ships now have base physical resistance, making heat damage more valuable and diversifying damage type strategy

Next up : releasing the Simulator. There is a growing backlog of QoL requests, so some might be thrown in as well. We're a bit behind schedule but balancing took way longer than expected.

Hello everyone! Here’s what’s new in this update:

• Accessibility Settings: Added Screen Frame Width option (some players feel less motion sickness with a frame around the screen).

• Accessibility Settings: Option to toggle Dynamic Field of View (FOV).

• Graphics Settings: Added Field of View (FOV) slider.

Wider FOV increases the sense of speed but may cause motion sickness.

If you start feeling dizzy, please take a break.

• Stage 18: Reduced the intensity of the earthquake shaking.

• Settings Menu: Changed the Gameplay tab to Accessibility.

• Thanks For Playing Screen: Disabled sound effects when showing the score.

• Stage Select: Technique details now scroll back and forth automatically instead of moving in one direction only.

• Fixed an issue where the rectangle attack warning had collision, causing the player to clip into it and fall into the void.

• Fixed a bug where the eel’s spin attack could knock the player below the ground.

• Fixed the camera getting too close when using the Eel Sword.

• Fixed cars floating when the highway is destroyed.

• Stage 19: Snowballs were not rolling properly.

• Stage 19: The same attack pattern could repeat too often.

• Fixed an issue where certain in-game triggers might not activate during cutscenes.

• The player may sometimes go off course even when following the intended route.

The TEN++ Celebration continues! This update adds support for Steam Cloud and fixes the rare (but awful) save corruption problem -- yay!

From now on, your progress will be shared across all your Steam-connected devices, so if for some reason you've been playing the game in parallel on your Deck and PC, you'll want to apply the update on the machine that has the most progress, since that will be what carries forward. ;)

(Note: in case you have disabled it in the past, please make sure Steam Cloud is enabled in order to use it.)

Bonus, N++ is now officially Steam Deck verified -- double yay!!
