Vicarious Visions, the studio responsible for the recent Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and earlier Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is being gobbled up by Blizzard Entertainment. The studio was already owned by Activision Blizzard but, according to the publisher, the 200 person team will now become Blizzard employees and will be “fully dedicated to existing Blizzard games and initiatives”.

Just when you thought your trusted deals herald was done for the day, here she is with another one fresh off the deals presses. It’s arguably the best deal of the day, though, as Humble have just announced the early unlocks for their next Humble Monthly bundle: Call of Duty: WWII, the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. That’s seven games, all for just $12. You’ll need to be a Humble Monthly subscriber to get them, of course, but if you’re not you can join up right now for just $12 a month.

The lovely Spyro Reignited Trilogy – a remake bundle of Insomniac’s three Spyro The Dragon games – is headed to PC, if the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee aren’t fibbing to us. Spotted by the ever-eastward-looking Gematsu, the listing even includes preliminary box art, featuring the logo for Iron Galaxy, who previously brought the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to PC. It would seem that our version is in good hands. While no date is given, I’m hoping it’ll be here soon. Activision are publishing, and you can see a trailer below, featuring before/after shots of the original.

Crash Bandicoot

I am apparently the sole person in the RPS Treehouse who hasn’t played any Crash Bandicoot games, allowing me to be intrigued by today’s release of the remastered N. Sane trilogy. This three-in-one bundle gives a modern-day lick of paint to the eponymous marsupial’s ’90s PlayStation mascot platformer series, originally developed by Naughty Dog.

While first slated for a July release, Crash has been taking notes from the speedrunning community (whom he’s quite popular with), and has managed to rush out a few days early.
