Yo! Just wanted to let you know that I updated Windows and Mac Kyle builds to patch out the Unity vulnerability that was found in the last couple weeks. So assuming the Unity patcher works as intended, you should be safe to play, keep, and cherish Kyle forevermore!

Hi - Small update fixing some bugs and adding minor polish for Nextfest.

Features:
  • Added "reload level" button when enabling timer

  • Added "checkpoint currrent" and "level currentl" display - displaying your time "splits" when having timer enabled

Changes:
  • Added new save point in "Sewage?"

  • Decreased volumetric fog downscaling (caused the heavy blur in some areas)

  • Improved visibility in "containers?" & "The Northern Rift."

  • Polish across multiple scenes

  • Update level selector image of "containers"

  • Volumetric lights update properly through ingame settings menu now

🧪 Perk Permanency

To make things feel fairer, 1.10.2.0 introduces one of the most requested features: Perk Permanency.
Here’s how it works:

  • When you die, you will now only lose 1 level of each perk you own.
    → Example: if you died with a perk at Level 2, when you revive, you’ll have a weaker version of the same perk (but it will still be there!).

  • If the perk was at Level 1, you’ll lose it entirely upon revival.

  • After 5 deaths, you’ll start losing 2 levels instead of 1.
    → This number will increase again after 10, 15, and 20 deaths.

  • This “Perk Permanency” feature may change in future updates — right now, it’s in a test phase.


🛡️ Armor Machine

A brand-new machine is joining your arsenal: The Armor Machine.

  • The Armor Machine provides Armor, allowing you to take more damage before going down.

  • It has 3 armors in stock, and it will refill after the next round once you buy all 3 available armors.

  • You can equip a maximum of 3 armors, totaling 12 hits absorbed when fully armored.

  • The Healup perk (which increases invincibility time) will not work when the armor absorbs damage.

Immunity time between hits:

  • With 3 armors equipped: 2 seconds.

  • With 2 armors equipped: 1 second.

  • With 1 armor equipped: 0.5 seconds.


⚠️ These changes make the game more strategic and reward players who plan their survivability in longer rounds.

  • Fixed an issue where interacting with the pump too quickly between uses could block further progression.

  • Fix issue where a character could be talked to at the incorrect time blocking further progress through the game.

  • Resolved an issue where the pump sound continued playing even after it should have stopped.

  • Increased the visibility of the pump’s water hatch to make it easier to locate.

  • Updated certain in-game interactions to better support the story flow and improve clarity.

  • Fixed an issue where a conversation could trigger at the wrong point in the story.

  • Increased transition time in some parts of the game to improve the pacing.

  • Allow you to leave house when people leave instead of preventing you.

  • Updated game icon to no longer be the Unreal Engine logo when running.

  • Updated music due to licensing issues.

Hi all,

We've updated a bunch of stuff here to improve the feel of the game, and the immersion of certain interactions. You can now exit your room at points you could not before and follow other characters. We do have certain parts of the game where you're still locked to your room, but we hope to improve this significantly in the next episode.

We couldn't have found a bunch of these issues without the awesome community. With all the content creators playing our game, we've been able to spot things we never would have, so thank you again to all of you.
