9.5/10 Another excellent game from the Finnish masters! A must for 3rd person action game and Alan Wake fans! Has the story and setting depth you'd expect. The mechanics work really well.

10/10 A MUST FOR HORROR FANS...it's an excellent choice if none of it's minor bad points bother you and you're a fan of the genre / delivery. And it's price is nothing to grumble about too.

5.5 / 10. It's curious jank worth experiencing, if you have a console or immense motivation and / or patience. You'll likely need both. At least from my experience of it on PC anyway.

As for a score, I'm giving Banners of Ruin an Early Access Ferocious Hand of 8 out of 10; So far so good I'd say. I'm really looking forward to seeing how MonteBearo develops this game...

A linear but fun ride with unique visual style, protagonist and core gameplay mechanic provided you gel with the control system and just go with the general flow of the game and the story. 8.5/10
