Zombie Driver HD coming to PS3, Xbox 360

The indie PC game Zombie Driver is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with improved visuals, dubbed Zombie Driver HD. The revamp is getting a number of improvements over its PC counterpart, to make smashing zombies with your car easier than ever.

The official announcement details the features being added for this release of the driving action game. The campaign has added boss fights, demolition missions, and new enemies, and special vehicles. These additions are said to double the campaign's length. Plus, developer EXOR Studios has tweaked the camera, added a recharging boost, and included a mini-map.

The game also includes a number of additional modes aside from the campaign. Slaughter pits you against waves of zombies in special arenas. Blood Race mode has 30 different race events, consisting of two game types. Eliminator challenges you to rack up opponent kills while you race, and Endurance straps a bomb on you to serve as a time limit.

No release date or price is set, but the original game costs $9.99 on Steam. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Zombie Driver Update Released

Updates to Zombie Driver have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

  • added voice over audio for all mission briefings and character dialogue in story mode. Male voices played by Tori Kamal, female voices by Sara B. Moore
  • added French, Italian, German and Spanish language support
  • added 1 second of invulnerability after respawn in Blood Race
  • improved bot AI behavior
  • tweaked car engine volume
  • tweaked bus handbrake
  • sports car alternate skin is unlockable for completing the Beginners'Tournament in Blood Race
  • alternate taxi skin is now available from the start
  • fixed possible crash bugs during map reload
  • fixed respawn exploit in Blood Race
  • fixed potential crash after completing the story mode
  • fixed misc. sound effects not playing properly in menus
  • fixed modified content warning message in Slaughter mode
  • fixed global leaderboards screen showing Slaughter mode highscores under Blood Race
  • fixed car wrecks gathering pick-ups
  • fixed menu UI stretching in wide screen resolutions
  • fixed tournament rewards being displayed incorrectly after completing the Zombie Drivers' Tournament in Blood Race

A free update for Zombie Driver, Zombie Driver: Blood Race has been released, stitching a new fleshed-out racing mode to the existing Story and Slaughter modes.

I just went and dipped my toe into Zombie Driver’s gory waters for the first time and found myself having a fair bit of disposable fun. If you’re looking for something that’ll entertain you with an investment of little-to-no brainpower, ZD’s your boy, especially so because developers Exor Studios have substantially enlarged this game since it was first released and are having a 50% off sale this week.
