The former, the shooting game equivalent of brain training, features a host of mini games to hone your skills and test your shmups trivia knowledge, spotting the in-jokes. The latter, a minimalist foray into a single mechanic: the lock on laser.

And if that weren't enough, Triangle Service have been generous enough to provide all 4 games' sountracks too, providing hours of great tunage from Triangle composer naoto and several genre luminaries such as Go Sato (Raiden series) and Tetsuro Sato/WASi303 (Psyvariar).
