Hi Everyone!
The Made with Cookies team want to give a huge thank you to each and everyone who has joined us along our journey across the Ecliptic plane.
It has been a massive year for the team and we are truly ending it with a bang. If you joined us during PAX this year, welcome to our shenanigans. We probably yapped your ear off but thank you for viewing, playing, wishlisting, grabbing merch; it meant so much to see so many people stopping and being curious. For those who are pre pax, thank you!!! Y’all are awesome and though we may not be able to greet you all individually, you are all wonderful, encouraging and the reason we are able to keep doing what we do.
We hit 1,000 wishlists here on steam (WTAF???), that is such a huge deal for us as we had set 1,000 wishlists as a would be nice goal but really had no expectations to reach it. We did it! Thanks to you, we have gotten here. No amount of words could describe how the team felt leaving PAX knowing that we did it. Some of us shared drinks, went into a pax coma and… cried in the basement carpark (don’t tell the rest of the team -TJ)
We also had merch since our last event in Sydney. We love our characters so much so honestly it was a bit of a guilty pleasure investment for friends and family. We were ready to cop the L and if one or two got sold then that would just be a cherry on top. Much like our wishlists, we had no expectation to break even… but you guys also made that happen for us. We are even almost able to produce the rest of the keychains!!!! (scorpio fans we hear you ;) dont worry)
If you did manage to get yourself down to PAX AUS in Melbourne a few weeks ago, you might have seen or played our shiny new “pax demo”. If you played, thank you our beautiful lab rats, your efforts were noted and observed, our demo thanks you. We had most of the demo reflecting how Ecliptic actually is, what the game will look and feel for the entire run.
Each and everyone of us have big brushstrokes of ourselves in Ecliptic so sometimes it’s nice to step back and really see every little touch and style that meld together to create Ecliptic. It wouldn’t be what it is without it.
New Features:
Intro: Now features our new hub room.
Hub: Resign and texture updates, it’s so cool and it’s going to get even cooler.
Aries: Texture updates & Dialogue updates
Taurus: Redesign of puzzle, you can actually see the items (they are really cool).
Gemini: Dialogue camera is back baby, she’s cooler than ever. Texture updates, slight adjustments to the flow of the room.
Cancer: Texture updates, room design updates.
Ending: …. Well, that’s strange, where did Virgo go?
We stuck to the first 4 core rooms of Ecliptic as it makes the most narrative sense and is its own arc that shows the pace and style of rooms for the rest of the game. Our original demo which many of you have been playing since this time last year has Virgo at the end. We gently kicked Virgo out, her room is so much different now that it didn’t make sense to end the new demo with her. So we enlisted the new guy in, Leo! If you were lucky enough to catch us at the beginning of the year you would have played a version of his room so keep your eyes peeled.
I am hiding under my desk, please, it’s such a scary question.
We had Q4 here on steam as that is the earliest we planned to release Ecliptic, however, life is life so release is Q1 2026. I can confirm that we are almost darn there. However, in the whims of being a game developer, we also have to sort things like ratings, ew, and really iron out those bugs, ew. Now if you did speak to our creative director and asked them this, you probably would have heard something along the lines of “if this isn’t out by April assume we have unalived” which, yep, that’s true. There isn’t much left for Ecliptic, which is exciting and terrifying (we have been working on our uni capstone for so long it’s bittersweet to see the end of it) so it’s only a matter of when we pull it all together then if.
So wishlist if you haven’t already, check out our new demo and join us in our final dash to the finish line.
We are almost there friends!
TJ,
Director of Made With Cookies.
