It was so wonderful getting to meet so many of you at Gamescom & PAX West & SIX this summer! We’ve been hard at work the last couple of months getting ready for some very big news **spoilers for the end of this post**. But now that spooky season is upon us, what better time to get some vampires into Arcane Eats? Here’s a sneak peek at the Twilight Paramedic, who’s always ready to take a blood donation, forcibly if necessary…

And in that vein… Dames 4 Games aired their spooky Ghouls 4 Games showcase with a featured Dev Spotlight for Arcane Eats! In it, I talk about some of our most dangerous flavor combos, and at the end we get to share our BIG NEWS…

Did you catch it? The Arcane Eats demo will be out on Steam on November 4th! So set your kitchen timers and make sure to get a taste of freshly baked demo straight from the oven.

• Check out all the creatively creepy games from the Ghouls 4 Games showcase! There’s a range of games, from eerie horror to cozy autumn vibes, all from women and femme-led developers.

• Roguelike fan? The Roguelike Celebration is happening right now! It’s one of the coolest, weirdest, nerdiest, funniest roguelike-themed events I’ve ever been to. Delve through their Steam sale event page for a ton of other great roguelikes and roguelike-likes to pick up and wishlist.

• Our previous game, Roundguard, has a Halloween Tricks & Treats event happening right now! Go put on your costume, smash some pumpkins, and crush some spooky themed daily events for the next week in honor of the Great Pumpkin, the roundest gourd of all. Roundguard will be on deep discount on Steam and mobile throughout the event, so it’s the perfect time to tell a friend or pick up a copy to keep in your pocket.

• Finished the Romanian Localization. \[in parallel also waiting for Italian to be completed by the assigned translators :( ]

• Fixed a bug with the Smiler not showing the Level 2 Respawn Cutscene when dying due to overlapping with the Smiler.

• Fixed a bug with the Level 2 Respawn screen not prompting a confirmation dialogue before returning to the Main Menu.

• Again, collision fixes for the pipes in Level 2.

Added a New Fighter: Project DIVA

This update just improves some small things related to the UI.

Patch Notes:

• Added a small space between every character in the font. This should greatly reduce how many letters touch each other at smaller font sizes and generally make the text easier to read.

• Added a bind to instantly toggle fullscreen. The default bind is F11.

• Added an option and a bind to completely toggle the HUD. The option can be found in the game tab, and the default bind is F1.

• Changed the kerning of the "1" character in the font to conform with the spacing of the other number characters.

• Changed the speed display and speedrun timer so that the decimal portions of the text always show two decimal places. In conjunction with the previous change, this greatly reduces how much the text in these UI elements "jitters" as it changes.

• Any text that shows a timestamp (like the speedrun timer or the time display in the replay menu) will now only show hours if at least one hour has passed in the run.

• Fixed the HUD scaling weirdly when not playing in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

• Slightly reduced the size of the centered speed display text and moved it closer to the crosshair.

• Changed the wording of buttons that load replays to always use the word "load". This should make it a bit more clear that you will have a choice between watching or racing against the replay.

Apparently, I'm meant to post news when Star Vortex goes on sale. So here's your official notice: the game is now 10% off for the weekend.

The demo is fully up to date. If you're still on the fence, check it out. Your saves will transfer to the full game without any issues.

I've decided that the next update probably doesn't count as a major update. It is however, quite game changing, especially at higher levels.

After this update, ships will no longer be limited to four slots of the same type. I'm finishing up the last UI fixes and performance tweaks now. Some of the chaos this update is already causing in testing can be seen below.

Hopefully it should be finished in the next week then I'll be on to the new upgrade tree, which is starting to take shape, and will remove the need to unlock weapon types.

mini-game (check the forest) and limited time exclusive Halloween cosmetics that you can use to decorate your bunker or show off you neighbours how "Halloween Prepared" you are!
