This Is Fine: Maximum Cope - 犹格泡泡子

Hey everyone,

A huge thank you to everyone who played the This Is Fine: Maximum Cope demo during Steam Next Fest! We’ve loved seeing your reactions, feedback, and general confusion (the good kind) as you navigated the Humiliation world.

Since so many of you seemed to enjoy your time inside Question Hound's brain, we’ve decided to keep the demo up a little longer. It was an easy call. After all, everything’s fine, right?

So if you haven’t had a chance to dive in yet, or just feel like revisiting those awkward high school memories again (why?), the demo is still here for you:

Everything is totally fine. Just keep on coping.

Extortion - Elanis

Hello!

Yeah, I know, it's only been 10 days since the 5th anniversary post and update and I already do another update?!

The community has been actively playing (and contributing), so here I am with another update for the game!

Changes:
  • Updated the simplified chinese version thanks to @ScorIsAFox on Github!

  • #1944 - Improve paste behavior (thanks to x0rld for his bug report!): pasting now happens at the cursor position

  • #1945 - Prevent pasting non-breaking space and replace them with "standard" space character. It should prevent some issue when pasting IP Adresses while you play

  • Fix a minor issue in the demo that could create some bugs at the very end (but not sure it has ever happened!)

  • Stopped using google fonts (why was it a thing ?), and started using a local copy of the ttf file

  • Added a new file easter egg (chat003.txt)

  • #1943 - Fix Steam cloud save preventing from using Escape or "exit" to quit a gamesave

  • Updated technical dependencies

Sirocco - Torkker

After swapping out our netcode, player-hosted games are now available!

Which means your favorite boating game has found its way back into Gaben’s good graces (praise be Gaben, open thy crates in his name).

Which ALSO means you can download Sirocco again and host custom games. Games are now coordinated through Discord, so what are you waiting for?

The water’s just fine.

Happy boating.

Story time:

Switching from an online dedicated server setup to a peer-to-peer system was not a straightforward task. There are still plenty of improvements needed, both when getting into a game and during gameplay, but the core experience is now available for single-player and peer-to-peer matches, including playing against bots with your friends.

All captains are playable, but you won’t have access to your skins. If we find a way to get the backend services back up and running, we have copies of everyone’s progress, so nothing will be lost.

The community has been amazing on Discord. They even have a working matchmaking system with MMR if that’s your thing or if you just want to play some boat games, that’s the best place to coordinate for now.

Future:

The plan is to improve the game’s UI and fix bugs and weird issues that came with the transition from dedicated servers to peer-to-peer. After that, I’ll look into adding a lobby system through Steam and making gameplay improvements (looking at you, weapon system), along with balance updates and anything else the community prioritizes.

Come join the Discord to get involved, we’re a friendly bunch.

It is just me working directly on the game right now, so updates will slow down a bit, both in frequency and in size. The community’s feedback, bug reports, and support are invaluable (seriously, you’re all amazing).

We’ve spent too long on this project to simply let it go, and now, no matter what the future brings, the game has a solid foundation to keep being playable.

Revenge of the Savage Planet - steam

Being light-years away from home doesn’t stop us from celebrating all of Earth’s favorite calendar dates.

Next up on the list is Halloween and we’re bringing plenty of customization to the table.

Whether you’re needing a new costume to go trick or  treating at the Brainards’ houses, or want to dress up your Space Trailer with some spooky decor, we’ve got you covered.

What can I dress up as? 👕

We’ve been hard at work in the Kindred Labs (aka our real-life office) carefully designing over 40+ new customization items, for you or your habitat.

🔶 4 Halloween-inspired helmets

🔶 37 brand-new habitat customization items

🔶 28 not-so-spooky neon signs

🔶 4 new suit colors

🔶 Plus some additional items from our Charity Pack, exclusive to those who own the Deluxe Edition!

And if you keep your eyes peeled, we might even have a little contest coming real soon…

Full Patch Notes 📝

Keep on reading for the full list of our latest patches and bug fixes:

Habitat Customization

  • It’s now possible to stack wall stickers and posters on top of each other, and they won’t block placement of other furniture along that wall anymore.

  • Counter corner items now snap properly to room corners.

  • If you don’t own the Cosmic Hoarder Edition, the jukebox will now play “Taking a dump on company time” when interacting with it.

  • Deleting the selected item now happens when the hold duration is done, not on button release anymore.

  • Removed the on-screen hint for going into Habitat Customization mode while the player is inside a wardrobe they placed in the customizable area.

  • Prevent players interacting when some items’ interaction zones are overlapping.

  • Fixed a bug where the "New" label could reappear on furniture inside the DKO Catalogue during the first play session.

  • Fixed a bug where the client player could place two of the same objects overlapping each other.

  • Fixed an issue with the Flower Pot preview model while placing it.

  • Fixed a visual glitch when the client player uses the Turbo Wheel.

  • Fixed a dynamic light issue with the disco ball.

Remix Mode

  • In Sandbox mode only, we now allow players to bypass any section of the tutorial up to activating the Habitat. They can fly from the landing crater to the Habitat in one go if they want.

  • The pause menu will now show which options are currently enabled in any Remix Mode.

  • Fixed a bug where crafting the Rawhide Utility Belt upgrade on the beach 3D Printer was putting a temporary Blight Bomb into the player’s hand.

  • Fixed a bug where increasing the damage received would kill the player if they went out of the level’s bounds.

  • Fixed a bug where decreasing the damage received would prevent the player from dying by fall damage, making Shama Lama’s Crash Test Dummy mission impossible to complete.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where, when playing splitscreen, if Player1 plays on the gamepad and Player2 plays on keyboard+mouse, Player2 cannot change tool in the tools wheel.

  • The Resources Backup Storage box can now only spawn inside map areas the players have discovered.

  • If the player dies while carrying loot, and the mission “I Take That Back” is already in progress, we now show a progress update for that mission showing the new amounts of loot in the box.

  • Prevent players from interacting with teleporters while using the remote drone.

  • On Quasadron IX, the laser activation cutscenes now only play for the player who activated them.

  • Fixed a bug where base events could remain in the Journal even if all objectives were completed. They’ll now complete properly on the next reload.

  • Fixed a bug where players could stay stuck after stomping defeated Mecha Slappi's body.

  • Made sure the chest at the top of Slitherfly nest unlocks when the fight is done.

  • Made sure the Hognork is well positioned on respawn.

  • Fixed an animation bug when the player is standing in lava.

  • Moved dialog line that was wrongly playing the first time the player picks up a Gelatinous Blob to when they craft the Gelatinous Blob Stabilizer upgrade.

Hud & Menus

  • When inviting a friend to an online game, the list is now sorted so players already in the game are at the top, then online friends, then offline ones. We also added new icons to help identify on which platform your friends are playing.

  • When a player dies in an early co-op game, if they haven't entered the Habitat yet, the button now simply shows "Respawn" instead of "Respawn In Habitat".

  • Removed the “Teleport” tooltip on the Habitat icon shown on the Stellaris Prime map when that action isn’t available.

  • Reduced the rotation speed of the character in the wardrobe menu when using keyboard keys.

  • In the wardrobe menu, prevent the color picker from opening when that suit’s color cannot be modified.

  • Fixed a few instances where a player’s HUD would stay visible during cutscenes that the other player triggered but both are seeing, or reversely where a player’s HUD would disappear during a cutscene that only the other player is seeing.

  • Fixed a few different bugs that could cause some icons to show in the wrong spot on the map.

  • During mission “Interstellar Enigma”, fixed the objective icon never showing up on the Slappi Teleporter to enter the challenge at the summit of Quasadron IX

  • Fixed a display issue with the scanning progress bar during first usage.

  • Fixed dialogs being muted while inside the wardrobe menu on some of the planets.

Options & Accessibility

  • Added an accessibility option to turn off camera shakes

  • Added new “Maximum Frame Rate” video option, only available when setting Vertical Sync to “None / VRR”

  • Furthermore, the following file should be deleted to reinitialize the shader compiler on the next game startup: %LOCALAPPDATA%\\Orca\\Saved\\Orca_PCD3D_SM6.upipelinecache

Craterlands - them_bonez

Hello, thanks again to everyone who is following my project!

Been reworking the Invasion system a bit. Now there are at least a couple varieties of enemies that spawn when your town gets attacked. Made some improvements to the spawn points so they should spawn right outside the edges of your town now too. I re-sprited my zombies so they have better contrast and made a female variety as well!

Also been reworking my menus a bit more. The character creation screen has a large update so now there are icons and menus for each option instead of just being another menu button. Might re-organize this more but I think it's much more appealing now.

I've incorporated these into the latest Demo 0.7.0.9. Give it a try!
