Just another quick patch to fix some bugs in purgatory:

  • Fix for Purgatory tutorial screen continue button not being active and causing a soft lock.
  • Fix for gamepad controls bugging out during the secret boss fight.
  • Upgrading a weapon in purgatory mode should now refill the ammo of the upgraded weapon as intended.
  • Soul count is now properly displayed in the post game endless stage.
Thanks to everyone playing and reporting bugs. Keep telling us about them and we will keep squishing them.

Welcome back to another devlog for Prison Survival!
This time we’re shining the spotlight on the people who make sure your prison “staycation” doesn’t get too comfy… the guards.

Guards



They patrol the halls, they break up fights, they yell at you for no reason (or at least it feels that way).
But in Prison Survival, guards aren’t just background - they’re a whole faction in the prison ecosystem.



We’ve added different types of guards, each with their own quirks, routines. Some are strict, some are lazy, and some might even look the other way if you’ve got the right connections.

Friend or Foe?

Here’s the twist: guards aren’t just enemies. They can be allies too. Sure, they’re the 4th “gang” in our little prison world, and yeah, they’ll happily bust you if you’re up to trouble…



…but bribe the right one, run errands, or simply earn their trust, and suddenly you’ve got protection, privileges, and maybe even a guard who “forgets” to lock a door.


It is not easy to be a prison guard. But you wanna try? Play Prison Simulator - i heard it's a good game ;)

Changes & Fixes

  • Removed the license code that unlocked Ending #2 from the email you receive at the start of the game. This used to have a 2% chance to trigger (don’t ask xD).

  • Fixed the “Reality Check” achievement - it now appears on the correct level.

  • Adjusted the jumpscare in Settings; it is now different from the final one.

  • Fixed typos: the “moving file to Trash” message and the installer message (EN).

  • Difference markers no longer disappear immediately after finding the last ones; they now clear only when moving to the next level (for a clearer end of the round).

Hi folks!

Thanks to everyone who’s been playing the new update over the past week and letting me know about any bugs you come across. This latest set of fixes should make the current build a lot more stable for folks before we continue adding more content in the future.

Spirit World Gameplay
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the tutorial to be skipped for some players
  • Breakable pots are breakable once again
  • Lunar Rot timer now immediately is set to zero when you clear a room
  • Running into a Point of Interest pickup after it’s already been triggered should no longer trigger pickup vfx
  • Boss doors should no longer have incorrect icons sometimes
  • The boss door that appears in the Debtor’s Chamber has the correct icon color now
  • Added more checks to ensure boss doors spawn at the correct time
  • Added more checks to ensure chamber exits cannot lead from Earthen Ruins to Wooden Refuge before the player had beaten the first boss
  • Enemies no longer permanently have water reflections after the player visits the Lotus Sea for the first time
  • Added more checks to avoid getting the camera shake effect stuck on screen for too long

Ancestral Gifts
  • Unwavering (Qamar): no longer can reduce your dash distance below 1 unit, to prevent certain chambers from having impassable gaps

Narrative
  • Removed some placeholder portraits in the Scavengers story event
  • NPCs now spawn a bit more spread out if they have story events in the same location
  • Moved Gina’s default story location to avoid her spawning behind a tree
  • Terracotta Warrior’s default dialogue in Debtor’s Chamber now only occurs 33% of the time instead of 100%
  • Terracotta Warrior has a new story event when Tengu enemies appear in the Debtor’s Chamber for the first time
  • Fixed incorrect text in Wooden Refuge journal entry
  • Fixed missing text in Earthen Ruins journal entry

Shops
  • Boba Store now deducts money correctly
  • Clothing Store now works again when shoes are on sale
  • Robin clone is no longer visible in Clothing Store
  • Missing foreground visuals in Sushi Restaurant were re-added

Upgrade Systems
  • Narakan Loom tutorial now ignores the Debt-Blow upgrade when notifying you about your first new upgrade, since it is unlocked for free through a story event
  • Opening the Narakan Loom will no longer immediately upgrade the first upgrade if you have enough Sycee.
  • It's no longer possible to refocus a Gift Upgrade envelope while the menu is playing its closing sequence
  • Focus Thoughts is set back to being immediately available to access

Saving and Loading
  • Training Chamber starts unblocked if loading a save game where you’ve unblocked it
  • Loading a save from Wooden Refuge no longer incorrectly spawns player in Earthen Ruins
  • Player resources now immediately show correctly on the HUD after loading a save game, instead of updating the next time a resource is collected
  • Quitting to the menu, starting a new game and then skipping the intro no longer causes the game to get stuck
  • Boss health bar no longer incorrectly appears when loading a save game into a boss chamber where the boss has already been defeated
  • Loading into a completed chamber, quitting the game, then loading that same save no longer loads you into an uncompleted version of that chamber
  • Added more checks to ensure Ancestral Gift upgrade levels are accurate after loading a save game

Controllers
  • XBOX controllers now have correct default settings for left stick movement
Backrooms: Extractions - Mat

As we’re getting closer to the release of a major new update introducing the “Endless Loop” game mode, all game owners now get immediate access to the experimental build!

How to install the build

To access the experimental version:

  1. Right-click on Backrooms: Extractions → Properties → Betas,

  2. In the “Private Betas” field, enter the code: liminalspaces,

  3. Then, open the dropdown menu above (“Beta Participation”) and select Experimental,

That’s it! The experimental version will download. To return to the normal version, simply set “Beta Participation” back to None.

What’s new in this build
  • Endless Loop mode,

  • New skins,

  • M.E.G Crates spawning in Endless mode (rare ones contain Relics, which can be used to purchase skins in the LAB),

We’d love your feedback on:
  • Difficulty in Endless Loop and how it scales over levels,

  • Entity presence, behavior, and challenge level,

  • Bugs,

  • Visual quality and artistic choices for skins (both roleplay-oriented and fun ones),

  • Relics drop rates,

  • M.E.G Credits quantity and skin pricing (in M.E.G Credits. No microtransaction)

Good to know
  • Skin purchasing and equipping is still very basic, so don’t worry about the UX for now.,

  • Endless menus are bare-bones (just buttons for now). These will be polished before the public update.,
