Long time no see! We haven’t been idle all this time – we’ve been working on the Map Editor, and now we are finally ready to let you try it out!
To celebrate the launch, Diplomacy is Not an Option received a discount of 55% till May 26th!
The long-awaited update adds the Map Editor with tools to customize:
landscape – generate it randomly or handcraft every nook and cranny, dig lakes or erect mountains;
resources – be stingy and make players count every single bit, or make them rich;
waves – plan attacks and create an impossible challenge… or a snoozefest;
objectives – decide if players should defend a building or a unit, or if you want to make them attack!
And of course you can share your creations with the community! Steam Workshop is enabled for you to show off your maps and let other players judge them.
Our work on the Map Editor isn’t finished and we’ll continue improving it in the future.
Additionally, there are some other game improvements in this update – for example, we’ve added the option for units to move with the same speed! The full list of changes is, as always, under the cut. [expand type=details] Update 1.0.53
Features
The Map Editor is here with Steam Workshop support. Now you can create your own maps and subscribe to maps made by other players.
General
The ‘Not for Publishing’ map, created by the Door 407 team in the Map Editor, is available for Steam users;
You can now level the movement speed of a squad by the slowest troop type represented in it. To do so, press [Ctrl] when giving the ‘Troop move’ order (RMB+[Ctrl] while controlling selected troops);
Significantly accelerated map loading (about 30 times). Especially noticeable when loading large maps.
Improvements
Updated one Ninth Twilight Overlord's line in the ‘Learning how to swim’ mission (now it contains a reference to ‘Diplomacy is Not an Option: Shareware’).
I’m excited to announce that the demo now supports 14 languages, including:
English
Chinese (Simplified)
Russian
Spanish
Portuguese (Brazil)
German
Korean
French
Japanese
Polish
Turkish
Ukrainian
Czech
Vietnamese
Now even more players worldwide can try the game in their native language. Thank you for your support and feedback — they help us make the game better!
To prepare for the release of Abomi Nation: Monster Rifts, Abomi Nation 1 is at its deepest discount ever at 75% off in the Creature Collector Fest!
Get familiar with the initial batch of 175 Abomis (and crossover creatures) before Monster Rifts promises to bring in loads more faces! With dozens of new universes crossing over, and the built-in mod tool dubbed the Abomi Nation Creation Station, the sky is truly the limit on how many monsters can join the party.
Be sure to follow Monster Rifts' Kickstarter page for major updates! We're ramping up to an absolute ton of big reveals and surprises in what should hopefully be just a few months. I can't wait to share what I've been cooking up behind the scenes.
Dinosaur Shakespeare: To Date or Not To Date? - Duck Whitman
Happy May 12th, everybody! Yes, it is another sale. Yes, it is not April, when Shakespeare's birthday actually is. That was going to be the first of two things, but I started writing before I made the list, so here we are.
The second thing is that you may notice our sale strategy is a bit different this time around. We're trying out new numbers, testing out new DLC pricing to see if it moves that needle at all.
Ten year ago, Army of Tentacles 1 was greenlit. A year after that, we had sold over 400 copies on Steam. Eight years ago, we decided to make every Shakespeare play into a game. We're two games away from that goal.
So, come one, come all, and peruse our fine (90%) anthropomorphic wares. It's what the Bard would have wanted. No, seriously, Shakespeare probably would be writing a furry webcomic.
It's ALSO the Critter Collector Fest right now on Steam, and so that means.... well, it really just means another game on sale. But WHAT A GAME IT IS.
A full-blown feline battle academy set in a San Francisco ravaged by tech lords (ok, so....), all legally distinct from the most popular creature collector out there!
Next year is our 10 Years of Not Going Out of Business Sale. Life is nuts.
