It’s been a productive month! I split most of my work between the jungle and the redwoods. The ravine in the jungle has been massively updated and overhauled, with a huge river added—complete with mangroves and large cliffs. Jungle ground foliage is now both more performant and denser, giving it a more lifelike feeling.
The redwoods are easier to navigate now, with large rocks placed more mindfully to prevent exploration issues. A new path has been created through the dense cliffside rocks leading up to the snow biome—with several more on the way.
As usual, there have been optimization updates too. Video memory utilization is lower than ever, with fewer materials being used across the map. The materials now require significantly fewer instructions to render, and foliage roughness has been adjusted to prevent Lumen from allocating dedicated reflection rays—resulting in much less computation overall.

Hey all! This month I continued as before with diets, tweaks, and optimizations for the new build. The nutritional benefits system is finally finished (code-wise), pending just a few final bug fixes before submission. This first iteration will be expanded over the course of the game’s development with features like wellness effects and buffs for nestings and cleaning-related stats. Alongside the nutritional system, several core stats have been revised for improved performance and easier future expansion.
In parallel, new content and R&D have been in full swing. We’ve decided to allow some species of playables to be tameable by tribals—species better suited for war and combat rather than the AI-only tames previously used for farming or defense. The selected species are: Diplodocus, Allosaurus, Eocarcharia, Skorpiovenator, Irritator, and Arambourgiania. Consequently, Apatosaurus and Cryodraken have been removed, with their roles replaced by other species. This decision also required some tricky balancing around stats, AFK growing species, and more.
Looking ahead, the chosen playable species in AI form—as well as all player dinosaurs—will now reside on a separate island from the tribals. Larger, more aggressive species like Lokiceratops, Thyreosaurus, Gigantoraptor, and Carchardontosaurus will be exclusive to the dinosaur main island. All other AI species will appear on both islands. In short, tribals and dinosaur players will have separate main islands, though tribals will be able to travel to the dinosaur island to gather rare resources and tame more impressive species.

Hey everyone! I recently joined the Echoes of Extinction team as a Rigging Artist. I'm from India, and I specialize in creature and character rigging. This month, I worked on the Eocarcharia rig.
The international version of "Mojika - Truth Rears Its Ugly Head" developed by NitroOrigin and published by JAST has now been launched on STEAM! The achievement system is supported (there is a conflict with the patch). There is a 10% discount for the initial release (for one week)!

Story Overview
Suteru is an outcast burdened by his ugly appearance who possesses a rare and unsettling gift called “Wordsight” in which thoughts materialize as words. His unique ability allows him to uncover the disturbing secrets of those who torment him and help him seek revenge.
Known Possible Problems and Solutions:
1. Crashing when fast-forwarding - If you fast-forward too much, it may get stuck when using “Wordsight”. Just restart the game.
2. Infinite loop when fast-forwarding the plot in the broadcasting room - Please cancel the fast-forward and click to proceed with the plot.
3. Black screen of the "Word Curse" during the plot in Hanatsubaki Shin'in - Please cancel the fast-forward and click to proceed with the plot.
4. c++ error message appears before the True Ending - Please restart the game and load the save file.
5. No response after starting the game - There may be such a situation when starting the launcher for the first time. Please wait patiently for the launcher to appear.

This month brought another biome-based update for the desert caves! Some progress was made on adding maps, but I still have a ways to go before it's implemented into the game
Unexpected saving bugs
As I playtested the game myself, some more bugs relating to saving the game were still present, which led to v 0.1.2.2 and 0.1.2.3, and that postponed my attempt to add a map into the game.
Map implementation attempt
When I did attempt to implement a map, the technical challenges of implementing it weren't nearly as enjoyable. This is usually the outcome when I attempt to implement something that's challenging to do so, and has always been the case with some major challenge throughout the game's development history. This then made me work on another part of the game that I enjoy more, such as adding themed content to biomes that are still empty in content at the moment.
Map progress
So far, this is the progress I've made on the map!Those gray blobs are rocks, the light-green ones are the rocks in the jungle, and that green wall is mostly vegetation, trees, and other jungle tiles.At this point, the frame rate drops to around 20 FPS when it's opened, and there are many map bugs that needs to be worked out, so some optimization is needed before an update that adds maps will be launched.
Desert cave update
Sometime after attempting to implement a map, and not making nearly as much progress in it as I'd hoped, I decided that updating another biome lacking content was the way to go, and the desert caves were the next best option.
Where the ideas come from
It was more challenging to come up with ideas for this biome, as I wanted to limit plant life for this biome to maintain the theme of this biome as dry and relatively barren compared to the lushness of the taiga, verdant, and jungle caves. At the same time, I also wanted this biome to be worthy of exploring, hence, arid crystals, cracked sandstone stalagmites, and some gadgets and tools focused on high temperatures and melee damage were added here.

Just like last month, there isn't much to show in this category relating to the game, but I was told of another obscure indie game that's fairly similar to Cosmorists that you might like!
It's called Starseed, sharing many similar mechanics to Cosmorists, such as planetary exploration, but also some differences, such as farming and being more story-based! Just wanted to share this game in this section for those wanting to play a similar game in case you're bored with this one :)
