Sapphire Safari - Henley
Hello Photographers! In today’s issue, we will be talking about a few new mechanics we will be dropping alongside our upcoming Demo. That is right, a demo. Finally. After three years of development, we are ready to let everyone experience Sapphire Safari for themselves! The date we will be launching the demo is…

February 24th

Oh yeah! It is worth mentioning here that this demo will be exclusive to Steam for the first few weeks as it will be premiering during the February Steam Nextfest, a unique event all about demos for upcoming games! You can expect to play the introduction of Sapphire Safari and have a small space to explore, the demo is also limited to four of the nine plains species, along with only a handful of the Monsutra (unlockable sex positions) to unlock. But any progress made in the demo will carry over 100% to the full game.

Now let's move on to the new new!

Photo Stacking
In order to combat player Monpedia being filled with very similar photos from quickly snapping 3 or 4 really nice photos that apply to several categories we have created a system called “Photo Stack”. Think of this as a balance change to help with the ease of scoring better photos.

How it works is that if you take several photos at once in the same location, the game will “bundle” those photos together in a stack. When you go to submit your photos, you’ll be limited to choosing one of those photos inside a stack. The concept is to give players a chance to snap lots of photos, but choose only one to submit.

If you move around after taking several photos it will automatically stack those photos together so you won’t accidentally have several different photo targets in one stack. Not to say that doesn’t happen, we will be tweaking this as we go.

When you’re inside the submission window you’ll see the stacks lined up and ordered from highest scoring to lowest. You can press the Q button to shuffle through the available photos and be able to choose what target and what photo you want to submit.

Our hope here is to use this for future upgrades the camera will see, including shooting modes like burst shots and such.

Monsutra Animations
We have doubled the number of Sex animations in Sapphire Safari, a lot of the new content adds more Predator animations, Oral animations, Threesomes, and Female on Female content.

Collections Tab
Now you’ll be able to view the Collections Tab inside the Guide Book. Here will be the collection of Expedition Logs you’ve found and a way to replay them. Along with a space for the upcoming Achievements feature space.

The Achievements will be designed to work inside and outside the game with storefront-based achievement tools and API’s. So Steam and GOG players will have their achievements on their platforms, but JAST, Itch, and Subscriber releases will have the same tracking available in the game. Eventually, we want to use the Achievements to unlock game content, but not right now.

Here is a quick look at the icons we have for the related species Achievements.

Jamie Futa
Yes, you want that girl dong. So here you are. It will be added to the game very soon, it will be accessible via the options menu in game and come in two flavors, while also being reflective on her costume as well.

Main Menu Overhaul
Originally we were considering how Tourist Mode will end up in the game, but now that we have the Narrative Content in game (at least the start of it) we no longer need to have the two separated. To reflect that we now have returned to the old menu style with buttons for Bug Reporting, Socials, the Roadmap, and a quick link to read the latest news posts!

Other Updates
In other news, we have finally admitted defeat against the lightbox bug caused by the fluid simulation in the game. As such (and the FPS drop during fluid creation) we have decided to remove the feature entirely. We will be building a particle-based ejaculation system as a result, it should have all the same features, but it might take a little time to mature as a mechanic.

Liminal Void - jeijei
While Liminal Void is a videogame, there was a lot of love going on as it was made. There was love in the music, the characters, and a lot of work. Even the characters love, and the writing echoes a lot of romances. It's an overwhelming feeling at times. To a lot of lonely hearts, it's another day. To the more bitter ones, a cruel reminder of what they can't have. But whatever it is, I owe a lot to it, as I owe a lot to you.

Sometimes I let loose and lose myself in virtual worlds. They provide a lot of comfort. I hope Liminal Void will be for you, too.

I been meaning to make a game announcement since the next game is pretty much Romance. But I have a very hot date today plus I am more focused on getting Liminal Void localized. It's a very busy life. This game was made in the midst of a lot of turmoil in my life and I want the next game to have a better foundation. Plus Update 1.1 has been taking so much of my time I had to push back release dates.

I owe where I am now to you. I hope there will be more love in your life.

I love you all

ASCENDANT - PF Leona
Ah, February, the month of love, heartbreak, and regrettable late-night texts to your ex. But in ASCENDANT, the only relationships that matter are the ones forged in strategy (and the occasional accidental team kill). Whether you're a well-oiled team or a lone wolf trying to prove you're better off without backup, it's time to break down what makes (or breaks) a winning squad.

What’s Your ‘Type’?

The Combat Roles
Finding the right squadmates is like dating (if dating involved high-powered weapons and the possibility of being vaporized). You need balance, trust, and someone who won’t ghost you mid-fight. So, who’s on your dream team?
💥 All-Rounder – A jack-of-all-trades, good at everything, master of nothing. Solid choice, but don’t expect them to carry you.
🎯 Sniper – The silent type. Prefers long-range engagements and “safe fights.” Likely to say, “I had the shot” after you’ve already died.
💪 Close Quarter Fighter – Aggressive, in-your-face, and probably a bit unhinged.
🔥 Chaos Fighter – Bombs, flames, destruction - oh my! Fantastic for causing mayhem but terrible for keeping a relationship (or squad) stable.
What Not to Do: Three team members who only play these aggressive roles. That’s a recipe for heartbreak and getting annihilated in record time.

The Support Roles
💊 Healers – The real MVPs. They keep your mistakes from being fatal.
🛑 Suppression – Area denial specialists who make sure enemies stay miserable.
💣 Long Range Support – Cluster ammo gods. Provides covering fire, ensures snipers don’t get lonely.

The Tactical Roles
🌲 Foresting/Gatherers – Prefer the quiet life, hunting wildlife, and racking up power. Not the best for fast engagements but critical for long-term survival.
👀 Scouts – Eyes and ears of the operation. Locate Biocores, call out enemy movement, and keep everyone informed.
🟠 Biocore Carrier – The person who gets all the attention (and bullets). Having a healer to back them up is a really good idea.

What’s Your Situationship?
💌 Party Up (aka Play With Friends) – Communication is better, betrayals sting more.
🐺 Lone Wolves – Going solo? Turn off autofill and get extra lives. No need for a third wheel.
Rush Teams – Sprint for Biocores while others are still deciding which guns to grab. Risky, but rewarding.
Play for Late Game – Let the chaos unfold, gather intel and power, then dominate when it matters most… at minutes 6 and 12, ofc.
🤝 Strangers in the Night – Entering with randoms? Don’t worry—matchmaking will pair you with players of similar skill. Will it be love at first kill, or a squad you regret swiping right on?

No toxic relationships, no dead weight, just the sweet, chaotic symphony of teamwork (or glorious solo survival). So, who are you taking into battle? Choose wisely, or get left swiping at death.

Age of Mythology: Retold - Lady Eridani

In Age of Mythology: RetoldImmortal Pillars, our goal was to create compelling gameplay that is authentic to Chinese mythology. To do this, we sought Chinese designers, artists, and experts in Chinese mythology. Together with the teams at Virtuos Shanghai, Forgotten Empires, and Tantalus, we strived to create a well-researched bestiary of unique and incredible units.

With the upcoming Immortal Pillars DLC, most Chinese Myth units are inspired by the Four Perils, a collection of warped and malevolent beings, and the Four Auspicious Beasts, noble guardians associated with the elements. Today, we’re introducing the “evil” four of the Myth units available in Immortal Pillars.

Immortal Pillars is available for pre-order now on Steam! Coming March 4th!

Qiongqi
Qiongqi is the first of the Four Perils, available in the Classical Age to followers of Houtu.

In designing the Myth units of Immortal Pillars, we wanted them to be authentic to mythology, foster unique gameplay, and be cool. We’re lucky when the mythology makes that easy for us. Some combinations go really well together and tigers and wings are one of the all-time greats. With Qiongqi, we instantly had everything we wanted.

The Qiongqi is a 260kg mass of muscle, teeth, and claws, and in it’s upgraded form it even has a horn and saber teeth half-a-meter-long! In Chinese mythology, the Qiongqi understands human language and has a warped sense of justice. It enjoys arbitrating human disputes by devouring the righteous party and rewarding the wicked. In Chinese, Qiongqi translates to ‘distressingly strange’ or ‘thoroughly odd’—and we agree! The mythology sounds incredible, but what could we do with this unit in-game?

In Immortal Pillars, the Qiongqi is a formidable unit with a fast attack tempered by slow movement speed on the ground. What the Qiongqi lacks in mobility on four legs, it makes up for it in the air – capable of flight to overcome obstacles.

The Qiongqi is perfect for early game raids against enemy bases, easily able to retreat by flying away from unfavorable situations. With this style of gameplay, Qiongqi are likely to find themselves behind enemy lines and outnumbered. Houtu grants the Sinister Defiance upgrade, increasing their armor for each nearby enemy unit, further increasing their survivability.

When the Qiongqi is around, nowhere is safe. As you battle the Chinese, watch out for Qiongqi flying in behind your base!

Taotie
Taotie is the second of the Four Perils, available in the Heroic Age to followers of Nüba.

We always want to push ourselves in Age of Mythology: Retold, and do things we’ve never done before. In learning about Taotie, we realized we’ve never had a unit that actually eats units before. Yup – eats them whole. In Chinese mythology, Taotie isn’t the most nuanced of the Four Perils: it really just eats things – and will keep devouring until it is killed.

In Immortal Pillars, we wanted Taotie to do a bit more than eat – also showing off its past meals. Like the Greek Hydra that gains heads as it fights, the Taotie grows larger as it devours, eventually reaching absurd sizes. This size increase comes with an even greater attack statistic.

As fantastic as an army of giant Taotie are, that’s not all it brings to the table! The Taotie’s special ability is fuelled by the humans it consumes. When activated, the Taotie releases a fiery blast, scorching any enemies unlucky to be caught in its path. Each release, reducing it’s size and attack statistic.

Taowu
Taowu is the third of the Four Perils, available in the Heroic Age to followers of Goumang.

In Chinese mythology, Taowu is described as having a human-like face, being covered in dog fur, and having a long tail. It is famous for its stubbornness and pride bordering on reckless obstinance. Compared to a peril who eats the righteous and another who eats everything, Taowu really doesn’t sound that bad.

In Immortal Pillars, Taowu is a sturdy, slow-moving unit strong against buildings. It is the Chinese answer to the Egyptian Scarab or the Atlantean Behemoth, but with a twist. The Taowu’s Charge special ability increases its speed for a short time, knocking enemy units out of its path. This makes Taowu perfect for clearing the way into an enemy base.

Hundun
Hundun is the fourth of the Four Perils, available in the Mythic Age to followers of Huangdi.

Mythology is filled with strange creatures: a serpent-haired woman whose gaze turns people to stone. A lion with a goat’s head, and a snake’s head for a tail. As far as strange creatures go, Chinese mythology delivers with the Hundun.

The Hundun is a faceless, six-legged, four-winged creature of pure chaos. It is associated with the primordial void before creation. In some stories, Hundun is a villainous son of the Yellow Emperor, banished along with the other perils. This inspired its unlikely association in-game with the revered Huangdi.

The incredibly unique appearance and fascinating mythology aside, how could such an unusual creature translate into fun gameplay? As a late game unit, we wanted the Hundun to feel almost like you’re cheating for a moment. We want players that face Hundun to say, “Wait, what? How did you do that?”

Hundun boasts two special abilities that chaotically shape battlefields in your favor. The first ability, Chaotic Fear, causes enemy units to flee in random directions. If that isn’t enough, its second ability, Banish, sends all units within a conical area into a void. They blink out of existence for a few moments, and return battered, by unseen forces.

There you have it: the Four Perils and the Chinese mythology that inspired some of the many new Chinese myth units. Try out Qiongqi, Taotie, Taowu, and Hundun for yourself in Age of Mythology: RetoldImmortal Pillarscoming March 4th!
