Hello, Splitfam! Today we have opened the servers for Splitgate 2 Alpha and admitted our first wave of players.
If you haven’t hit the ‘Request Access’ button on the Steam store page yet, there’s still time to do it. We’ll be admitting more players between now and August 25 and we hope we’ll see you in the arena.
If you are granted access to Alpha via Steam, you’ll get an email from Steam notifying you, and Splitgate 2 Alpha will appear in your Steam Library. Just download and login to get portaling.
I hope you're having a wonderful day. V0.5.5 adds 22.6k words, 4 CG sets, and 2 scenes. People might see this update as a bit of a downgrade compared to last month, mainly because the pace is slowing down. I think it's important for the corruption process. No worries though, the next update should pick up the pace again.
Also, just want to point out that I might take a month off in the near future. Don't know when yet. Will tell you when it happens.
Grab now works properly, just squeeze the controllers lightly
Haptics are now working
The motion vignette now works, show diving mask only works on Oculus unfortunately
Triggers now only need to be pressed halfway to register
Note: Many core things have changed so you will have to make new profiles, the watch is no longer available in the demo, you will find it in the full game
I am very excited to announce that the release of Motus Paintball VR will be on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 for both Meta Quest 2 & 3 headsets here on SteamVR. After months of tweaking AI behavior, adjusting field layouts and optimizing the heck out of the game; I am looking forward to delivering a unique paintball experience to the VR headset. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to wish list the game to take advantage of that launch discount! 😉
Long time no see! After a brief hiatus amongst the larger 0.9.19 update and the Steam Summer Sale, I am back with a new developer newsletter!
🚨 Reminder 🚨 Tales from The Dancing Moon has a free demo! It includes the first Act of the main story including all relevant side quests. You can get a feel of the game this way before purchasing the Early Access version. All saves and achievements will carry across!
The next content update should be a large one. For that reason it's taking a longer time to put together. The game as of right now is what I call "story-complete", but I'm happy to say that with this update I will consider the game to be entirely "feature and story complete".
After it is released, the plan is that the updates following will purely focus on polishing and tying up loose ends to bring the game over into it's 1.0 release.
With that all said, I have a little sneak-peak to show of what will be included in this update - procedural dungeons!
I've always been interested in procedural generation in games. There are already zones in Tales from The Dancing Moon such as the Dewiland Meadows, Noneye Desert, and the Stoknel Swamp that are procedurally generated.
Procedural dungeons will be slightly different to these zones as they will be entirely interior, with procedural layouts, puzzles, lore, and rewards.
These dungeons will also be the final part of Skye's quests, and allows the player to discover more lore about the Shadow Beasts and their involvement with the village. See the update recap section below to learn more about the recent additions to Skye's questline.
It's all still very early days (as you can see from the gifs above and below), but I'm quite happy with the direction it's going, and will hopefully add even more intrigue and replayability to the game.
Patch and Updates Recap 🛠️
Here's a little recap of the most recent updates!
[0.9.18] brought a whole wealth of new updates touching many areas of gameplay. A new late-game quest can be started from Skye at her new work station in the Worm's Tail Region. New rewards, craftables, buildable items, and a bunch of "quality-of-life" features can also be found in this update.
[0.9.19] expanded an entirely new questline to Skye, with a new "hide-and-seek" gameplay mechanic and a series of mysterious quests involving energy swords! Plus a bunch of new features like water sprinklers, recipe books, and more!
Steam Walkthrough Guides 📚
As new players trickle in, it's worth reminding that there is an official guide you can follow right here on Steam, written by yours truly. It's a great resource if you get stuck, or just want to know exactly how to move the story along in the game.
You can also access this guide straight from the main menu in-game (as shown in the screenshot above!)
Please Note: Tales from The Dancing Moon is a game with an emphasis on quests and figuring things out for yourself. If you need help it may be better to ask for hints on the Discord or forums before consulting this guide.
The guides focus on gameplay actions rather than story, to keep them as spoiler-free as possible.
That's all for this months newsletter, thanks for tuning in and playing!

Lead developer here with a little update on the Barny's Party map.
We're making great progress and are nearing the release of Barny's Party. For me personally this is our most anticipated map yet. We've put in loads of effort already to make it a fun, tense and scary.
The focus of this map is on the constant tension that we aim to introduce here. This map needs to be one of our horror themed maps. It needs to make you suspicious and cautious of your environment all the time. I'm sure that Barny himself will help you guys with that a lot too : ).
The map is rather large and includes loads of cool sections such as a miniature kids playhouse area, a kids mini swimming pool area, Barny's playground, a river ride with boats, a scary maze and more.
Can't wait to have it finished and to release it to you guys! Thanks for all the support!
After this map releases we aim to introduce our brand new game-mode which I'll tell you more about then.
If all goes according to plan this map will release before end of the month! With this update we also release our item shop located in the lobby, with fun outfits/cosmetics and character customization.

Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze - Yeppoh Games
Nefasto's Misadventure: Meeting Noeroze has a few branching paths in the story, and some actions you do in the game will end up in one of the 14 endings and their variants.
In the upcoming v1.50 patch at least two new endings will be added. One will depend on the mood of Noeroze, and the other one will involve Nefasto's lost game. For those who already did one of the ABC endings probably will understand what lost game we're talking about here.
