The Night Shift - ZombeeDeath
Hey everyone!

Me again, and back so soon after the announcement of the demo release yesterday. Whilst it is super exciting for new and potential players, there wasn't anything for the current players. I was saving all the even juicier things for this update!

There is some pretty big fixes in this update, as well as some flashier changes to the store. Some of you may have experienced the issue where you get to Night 3 but you have a couple tasks from the previous night. That is now fixed, well.. a temporary workaround. (To note: The actual issue itself isn't fixed but it is a known issue with the plugin I use for the system). But I tested it a bunch of times, and didn't run into any problems - so if you do, please let me know!
I started in my last update, implementing random spawns for items. This update introduces a few more types of items randomising, so some items that were in a spot in one playthrough may not be there in the next.

Work is still continuing on the next big content update (hint: more shifts... and scarier*), so please keep an eye out for that. Here is a little teaser of what is to come.

- Fixed the back of post it notes not having the correct colour.
- Fixed some player dialogue on the first night showing an asterisk.
- Fixed collisions on the flat cart.
- Fixed missing redistributables not being packaged with the game.
- Fixed not being able to unlock/open change room doors with main interaction button.
- Fixed previously completed tasks showing when changing level.
- Fixed text on the thanks screen to reflect the version.
- Fixed the blue hallway card not being removed from inventory after use.
- Fixed various mannequin heads looking the wrong way.
- Fixed tutorial messages showing above all other UI
- Fixed the scale of batteries in one of lockers.

The Spell Brigade - TheJalapeno
In between all the chaos of managing a Closed Beta, updating a Demo and attending Tiny Teams, we noticed that it’s been some time since we did another dev update, so let’s go!

A ton has happened, so we’ll go over the highlights:

WORLD 1


With all the cool additions we’ve done to the Frozen Ancients, we figured the Verdant Meadows were also due for an update.



We have reworked the level design, and added some new features. Like this road for instance, which you can use to move a bit faster (no more pesky grasslands to slow you down). Visuals are still in progress, so stay tuned!



WIZARDS
We’ve also made the final 2 Wizards for release (more will follow), who shall yet remain unnamed. Here’s a teaser, featuring the other 2 Wizards we recently revealed:



NEW ENEMY
New heroes means new enemies, so we’ve made another one that might really change up the battlefield. This little guy runs around and heals other enemies, so prioritizing them might be a smart plan. They mostly stay in the back of a horde though, so you’ll have to strategize with your fellow wizards to take ‘em down! Oh, and we don’t have a good name yet, so please share if you know one.



OBJECTIVES
We recently added some new Objectives to the demo, so you might have seen them all already. Nevertheless, we’ll go over them here. We’re still very much balancing these and improving the feedback, but their core concepts should stay the same.

The Rift and Sacrificial Ritual were already in the demo from the start. The new ones include a fleeing Golden Crab, which you must chase down and kill.



Another one is the Bewitched Fungi objective. To successfully complete this one, all players must find a specific amount of mushrooms before the timer runs out.



SPELL AUGMENTATIONS
And lastly, we’ve added a new type of Spell Upgrade to the game. You get these by completing the Objectives. They are called Augmentations, and they are more unique, more impactful upgrades, unique to your Spells. Some examples are making your projectiles split, fire in bursts, heal teammates or fire additional projectiles.





Some more specific examples are increasing the Rocky Road’s size over time, adding bounces to the Hex Bomb or making the Magic Missile explode at the end of its lifetime.



We’ve added a small amount to the demo for you to try out, but we plan to make many more! For the release, you can expect each Spell to have about 3 of these. They are all combinable, and some of them can even be applied multiple times.

Hello everyone,

Following the initial feedback and our recent 1.0.2 patch, we’ve continued to listen to your thoughts and have made further improvements to Wéko The Mask Gatherer. Your input has been invaluable in helping us refine the game, and we’re excited to share the details of our 1.0.3 patch:

Community-Requested Improvements:
  • Pause Menu: We heard your feedback about the lack of a pause menu, and we're happy to announce that the game will now pause when you access the Inventory. This should give you the break you need during intense gameplay moments.
  • Inventory and UI Enhancements: Many of you mentioned that the UI in the inventory and the text size was a bit small, particularly on the SteamDeck and other screens. We've updated the inventory interface and increased the text size for both tooltips and the inventory, making it more readable and user-friendly.
  • Credits in Map Menu: We've added the Credits to the Map menu, making it easier for players to view the game's credits at any time.
Number Adjustments:
  • Spear Damage Boost: We've improved the damage of the spear, increasing it by 5 points for each attack in a combo as well as for the jump attack, giving you a more powerful weapon to wield in your adventures.
  • Stamina Regeneration: Previously, when shielding, your stamina regeneration was at 1/4 of its normal speed. We’ve upgraded it to 1/2, allowing you to regenerate stamina faster while shielding.
  • FPS and Stamina Regeneration: We've fixed an issue where FPS would affect stamina regeneration. Now, stamina regen is consistent regardless of FPS, ensuring a fair experience across all devices.

Bug Fixes:
  • Lock-On Targeting: Some players reported issues with the lock-on system where it was impossible to target enemies correctly. We’ve added a bunch of code to prevent this problem.
  • Bombs & Stalagmites: Fixed an issue where bombs from Cinos were incorrectly hitting stalagmites. This should no longer happen, ensuring fairer gameplay.
  • Final Boss Fix: Addressed a bug that caused the final boss to kick players into the air before striking, preventing unexpected deaths and making the battle more consistent.
  • Achievement Fix: Some players encountered a bug where the Steam Achievement for "The Best Racer" wasn’t triggered. Now, if you talk to the NPC responsible for this quest again after beating the record of 22 seconds, he should trigger the achievement properly.
  • Narcissio 2D Cinematic: The Narcissio 2D cinematic was missing in previous versions, but we've now added it back into the game, restoring the complete storytelling experience.

Collisions:
  • Improved Collision Detection: We've improved and removed some strange collisions that were causing issues in various parts of the game.
