CPU controlled matches

As requested by some users, we have made a change: now the player's team does not change its strategy during the match when it is set to be controlled by the CPU.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where if a player stumbled during a penalty kick and the ball went out of the soccer field, a goal kick was not awarded.
  • Fixed a bug in the injured player hint displayed at halftime, which sometimes could not be closed, forcing an exit from the game.

Festivals - Headliners - jeffreydd
After almost 3 years of development, and almost 2 years in playtest, I’m very excited to announce Festivals - Headliners will be releasing into Early Access Monday June 3 at 18:00 CEST! The project has been a solo indie project for most of the time, and I think the game is ready for the next step, and to allow everyone to experience Festivals - Headliners and participate in its community, as I continue to improve the game, its mechanics and extend its gameplay.

As outlined on our Steam Store page’s “About Early Access” section, I expect the game to be in Early Access for at least 6-12 months, and there is still a lot to be done before the game is ready for its full release. I hope I’ve reflected that in the price, and if that’s not for you, that’s okay too, and I hope to welcome you back at a later date, when the game has matured further, and we’ll keep you updated through these development updates either way.

To celebrate this milestone, I’ll be doing a few livestreams over the coming weeks, some of which on Steam but also on the Festivals - Headliners Youtube, and over on the Discord with community! Also, a new website, which will include the game’s documentation and known issue page, will go live in the coming days, so keep an eye on http://festivalsheadliners.com!

New Simulation System
One of the key simulation systems in the game is the activities system, which drives (almost) all actions undertaken by the different types of characters attending, working or performing at your event. In preparation for the Early Access Release, this system has been largely rebuilt, and now uses a more “random” method to generate activities for characters throughout the course of your event.

These changes allow me as developer to more quickly make changes to the game’s simulation and overall mechanics. The other major part of these simulations is the intent system, which will require some TLC after the Early Access release, but overall these changes should already make characters get stuck less, and give the player more insight into what a character has done and will be doing.

New Network System
While a basic version was already in place for some time, the network system has been rebuilt to allow for more flexible use as the game grows, and it can now be properly used to build various types of fences all around your event site, both literally and figuratively!😉

Next up for networks is probably the power mechanic, which requires additional work, as it requires network “segments” (cables) to be connected to objects (generators, stages, etc), where each cable is carrying a certain load. This will be added after the Early Access release.

WHAT IS PSYCHIC FROG'S HORIZON HIDEAWAY?
Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway is a limited-time MTG Arena Store tab featuring special Modern Horizons 3 rewards like packs, avatars, sleeves, and more! You'll find it following the release of Modern Horizons 3 on June 11 in the tab to the right of the Cosmetics tab. You can unlock the entire Horizon Hideaway with the 2,800 gems entry and start redeeming Horizon Hideaway tickets for rewards.



EARNING HORIZON HIDEAWAY TICKETS
You can earn Horizon Hideaway tickets by completing quests and daily wins:





Horizon Hideaway tickets are rewards given in addition to the gold and Mastery XP rewards earned through quests and daily wins. You can start earning Horizon Hideaway tickets after the release of Modern Horizons 3 on MTG Arena on June 11, but only until the release of Bloomburrow on July 30. During this period, you will earn Horizon Hideaway tickets even if you haven't yet paid for entry to Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway; you can always pay the entry later if you decide you want to shop after all—but only until July 30's Bloomburrow release.

Though you won't be able to earn new Horizon Hideaway tickets or purchase entry to Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway after the release of Bloomburrow, if you have paid for entry prior, you will be able to redeem unspent tickets until the release of Duskmourn: House of Horror (release date coming soon).

REDEEMING HORIZON HIDEAWAY TICKETS
You'll find your current count of Horizon Hideaway tickets in the Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway tab. You'll also find all the rewards available, and the number of tickets required for redemption of each reward. This means you get to choose which rewards you want to receive first!

What rewards will you find in the Horizon Hideaway? I'm glad you asked! Check out the table below for all the reward details. Also note the redemption limit for each item; when you hit the limit of a certain reward, it will no longer be available, and you'll need to use your remaining Horizon Hideaway tickets on another item. For items with a limit higher than one, the number of redemptions you have left will be shown.

Swordai Playtest - castavernas
Update 0.5.3 is out and contains a lot of polish as well as a few significant gameplay tweaks for the next playtest which will start later this week. Be sure to follow the game and to click "Request Access" for the playtest on the main steam page. You'll get an email when you get access to the playtest.

Here are the full patch notes.


  • When you run out of tower time, rather than being removed from the tower immediately, you get the "Final Fury" status effect which drains your health continuously. The effect is removed if you do something to gain tower time (eg kill an something, loot a chest, etc). This allows you to potentially recover if you run out of time.
  • All red portals now send you to the same spawn point if you follow someone within 30s of them teleporting
  • You can now hold F or press and release F to interact with things like portals / chests / etc, before holding didn't work as one might expect
  • If you tap an offhand ability and immediately release the button to cancel it, it only has a 1s cooldown, to prevent you from accidentally blowing your cooldown
  • Significantly increased the time limit for inputting the code on puzzle doors
  • Made it more clear that you should leave your home and go to the trail of initiation after completing the first stage of training
  • Significantly increased the amount of tower time the killing most npcs gives.
  • Fixed a bug where chests weren't scaling the tower time given based on how long it had been since they were looted
  • Fixed a bug where leaving the tower server and rejoining could make your tower time not display properly
  • Added a slider to change the overall game volume
  • Added a new shrine buff that grants life steal on combo attacks only
  • You now steal shrine buffs with their remaining duration as well as soul keys if you kill a player who has one and loot their crystal
  • Made the initiation trial door only require 60 essence to open
  • A lot of decoration / minor cosmetic improvements
  • Increased shrine buff durations to 15 min
  • Increased the absorption and reflection on the molten edge buff to 3
  • Added achievements
  • Many minor bug fixes

Super excited for the next playtest to start. It should be just a few days!
