To celebrate Wildmender featuring in the Open World Survival Crafting Fest this week, we’re running the Surviving and Thriving Garden Challenge!
The 3 lucky winners will each receive an exclusive Wildmender wearable blanket, notebook, and mug.
In order to take part, you’ll need to take a screenshot of your garden and share it with is. The criteria for this garden challenge is that your garden needs to be optimised for survival, so here are a few things you’ll want to include in your garden screenshot to show us your survival skills:
Sources of food
Sources of water
Sources of building materials
Shelter(s)
Crafting table(s)
Defensive buildings
Fortifications
Storage
Animal helpers
On top of that, we want to see a garden that is thriving, rather than one that is all function over form. You’ll need to make sure your oasis isn’t just streamlined for survival, but also ensure it looks stellar as well. In short, don’t be shy about adding a few decorations alongside your defences!
Once you’ve prepared your screenshot, you’ll need to submit it via GLEAM here. The challenge will run from Monday May 27th until Monday June 10th. The 3 lucky winners will be announced on Monday June 17th.

So what exactly is Open World Survival Crafting Fest? And why is Wildmender part of it?
Open World Survival Crafting Fest is a time to celebrate all of those games where you start with nothing and gradually, through hard work and excellent survival skills, end up with…potentially also nothing! If you’re able to survive for long enough though, you may find yourself with a beautifully decorated base. Be warned though, the threat of losing it all will always loom over you, so never let your guard down!
While Wildmender is not one of the more intense or cutthroat survival experiences, you do need to learn how to adapt to the environment quickly in order to stay alive. What sets Wildmender apart from a lot of other survival games is that you must work with nature, rather than against it, in order to survive. You’ll need to build a lush oasis, which will provide you with food and water so you can venture out into the desert in search of more materials. Over time, you’ll begin harvesting materials within your own garden, which will allow you to craft shelters, defences, and glorious decorations.
You won’t have to go it alone though, since Wildmender supports up to 4-player online multiplayer!

Bold and ambitious mages, whose eyes are set on wizardly prestige—welcome to Arcane Knowledge, a mini-series of mini-articles exploring a few fascinating facets of the fast-paced rogue-lite’s development, from its renewed emphasis on character-driven storytelling to its expanded options for build-crafting.
What secrets shall we scry?
More magic = more better
Wielding the elements in all their destructive majesty is what the Wizard of Legend experience is all about—and this is precisely what Dead Mage is aiming to build on in Wizard of Legend 2. The goal is to give you the widest possible palette of magical tools to experiment with as you assemble your ideal arsenal of Arcana, the spells you wield during your runs.
As we discussed in our Legendary Wizarding 101 preview, wizards will start each run by choosing a loadout of Basic, Signature, and Standard Arcana from six elemental schools, with opportunities to acquire even more during their trials—but your Arcana will continue to evolve as you get further into your run.
“A big priority for us was to add a variety of enhancements that players can apply to each Arcana,” says Aryan Bina, game director of Wizard of Legend 2. “We want to offer players interesting choices for every Arcana. We’re hoping that this variety will encourage players to experiment and find clever and unexpected applications for their favorites.”
Bina conjures up Dragon Dive, a ranged Arcana, as an example of how enhancements can change your play. “It summons tunneling dragons to repel enemies, but its enhancements offer different strategies. Dragon Ride allows the player to teleport at the end of the dragons, facilitating rapid repositioning and enemy confusion. For those who prefer a combination of melee and ranged combat, you could choose the Returning Dragon enhancement, which performs a distant attack and pulls enemies closer for melee Arcana attacks.”
Factor in Arcana upgrades (which are applied independently from enhancements) as well as Relics (powerful ability-altering items that are returning from from the original Wizard of Legend) and you have a dizzying array of arcane build-crafting ahead of you.
And of course, Wizard of Legend veterans should expect some all-new Arcana in the magical mix. Some of Dead Mage’s favorites include Earthclap, a thunderous area-of-effect ability that’s good for grouping-up enemies for further comboing, and Monk Strike, a fast-hitting close-range attack that’ll surely become a standby for melee mages.

Do you love chopping down trees, making campfires and foraging for berries? Well, too bad, because you’re trapped in an underground research facility with no clear way to the surface. You’ll have to get a little more inventive! Think you can handle it?
You’ve arrived on the right week, because in this Status Report we’re going to take our first look at the major summer update planned for Abiotic Factor. Before we get into that, let’s answer a couple burning questions many people have asked us.
Short Q&A
Q: Are there any updates between the major roadmap updates? Yep. Not only have we already dropped several updates, we have more content-rich updates in development as well. Keep your eyes peeled, we might even say something about that in this very report!
Q: When is “Summer”? Aren’t you folks in New Zealand which is in the Southern Hemisphere? Yeah nah, since the majority of Earth’s population lives in the Northern Hemisphere, we are treating all roadmap estimations as Northern Hemisphere, meaning the United States / Europe summer is the summer we’re talking about. That means sooner, rather than later. We will announce the exact Crush Depth date when we’re ready, and there’s a bit more coming before that too!
Q: Are the major updates going to be the only updates furthering the story? No, smaller updates will often add story content or integrate with the story, however they will typically focus on improving quality of life and adding features within the existing areas, rather than major expansions of the Facility or additional portal destinations. We’ll talk more about one of those medium-sized updates near the end of this report.
Let us begin.
A First Look at Crush Depth
The most obvious of the major changes coming this summer in Crush Depth are the new expansions to the GATE Cascade Research Facility. You’ve scrambled over cubicles in the Office Sector, you’ve survived Manufacturing West, and you’ve probably opened one too many locked doors in the Labs. What’s next?
News Sectors to Explore
Reports from inside the Defense Sector are few and far between since the incident began. More colloquially known to GATE Cascade staff as the Security Sector, this area remains, for now, shrouded in darkness.
There is a bit more light to shed on the Hydroplant beyond, however. Within this cavernous space runs a road, abreast the massive concrete complex simply referred to as the Dam.
The dam, nominally, holds back a monumental volume of water referred to by the enigmatic Gatekeepers as the Darkwater. The scientists, on the other hand, give it a far less foreboding moniker – it is simply known to them as the Cascade Reservoir and it is the blood pumping through the heart of the Facility, generating significant amounts of power and cooling for the experiments conducted herein.
Administration and living spaces cling to the cliffside.
Energy capture experiments are practiced out in the Reservoir, thanks to the shielding properties (and cost-savings) of liquid water. But it’s no easy swim and the normal means of ferrying seem to be largely absent in the wake of recent events.
If you find yourself on this snowy retreat, please remember to bring something warm. We have a feeling the reception certainly won’t be.
You may have many questions, but only trudging through the snow will yield those answers.

Fun, Dangerous, Both?
To the skies, rocketeer! Science could never catch up to your adventurous spirit, but it’s sure getting close! Research into jetpacks is well underway, letting you reach new heights, both underground and beyond!
The Utility of Sport
While the twisting tunnels and rubble-filled roadways of Cascade have become narrowed through chaos and carnage, there’s always room for more utility. Sports utility, that is.
Getting around with friends and cargo requires something a bit more hardy than a forklift or security cart. You need the SUV, and judging by the state it’s in, it needs you too. Like the other vehicles, you’ll need to find a way to get it running. Once you do, it’s yours.
Stay Awhile
Something wholly absent from the roadmap, and announced for the first-time ever right here in this report, is an activity sure to bring you food, contemplation and the occasional useful resource.
We look forward to sharing more about this, and other details regarding Crush Depth, soon. That wraps up today’s first look at Crush Depth, the major summer update. But before that time arrives, there’s something else we need to deal with first.
Dr. Ross tells us she believes the Flathill Containment System has degraded substantially, and it’s much worse than we feared. Apparently someone took many of the power cells out and it’s destabilized the entire containment system. We aren’t sure what repercussions this will have, but… Say, have you noticed it’s been a bit foggy in the Facility?
Troubling, to be sure. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this in the very near future.

Operation New Blood introduces impactful Operator balance updates on the defender side for both Fenrir and Solis.
Fenrir will now have four F-NATT Dread Mines and two tickets to activate them. Although the mines will no longer be bulletproof, tickets are recovered when mines get destroyed or deactivated. Fenrir will also swap his Barbed Wire gadget with the Observation Blocker. Solis' SPEC-IO Electro Sensor ability will now be unavailable during the preparation phase. Additionally, the duration of the ability will be reduced to 10 seconds, the detection range set to 12 meters, and the sensor will need to be at full charge to be used. Solis will also swap her Impact Grenades gadget with Proximity Alarm.
Get the Seasonal Battle Pass
In Season 2, only the Premium Battle Pass will be available. Rewards include an Operator voucher, 18 Bravo Packs, a Bravo ticket, Exclusive skins, 10% store discount, and 600 R6 Credits. The Operator Voucher can be used to unlock one Operator of your choice in the in-game store. If you already own all Operators, you will instead receive 600 R6 Credits!
Get ready for the Marketplace full release
Since its Beta launch, many of you have been engaging in buying and selling some of your favorite items with other players in the Siege Marketplace. Early in Year 9 Season 2: Operation New Blood, the Marketplace will be fully released and all players with a minimum level 25 clearance will be able to use it without registration needed. Make sure to check out the Rainbow Six Siege website to use the Marketplace and explore all the new features coming with its launch.
