A few quick updates on how the rework is coming along!
Originally we were going to get original custom art and models, but we decided to prioritise better netcode for the longevity of the game.
We recently did a very small closed test with a couple of people, just to test that the rework actually works! And we're happy to announce it was quite successful :D
We're getting closer and closer to a version that we think is ready for y'all to play. A lot will be different as we progress through the development of the rework. We'll be testing new weapons, abilities, maps and a lot more. Hopefully with your feedback we can really push the limits on where the game is heading in the future!
We can't confirm a date just yet, I've learnt it's incredibly difficult to put a date on things in game development. So for now we'll just say, we want to get it in your hand as soon as we can, hopefully sooner rather than later!
We'll be cleaning up the discord, adding and removing some channels whilst we prepare for the rework too! So you'll be seeing some changes over the coming weeks. Join the Discord here
Happy holidays and stay safe! 🎄 💘
With all that said, here's a small preview of the first map that will be available to play when the rework goes live for testing! (still a work in progress!)
Fixes and balance changes: * Slightly reduced the chances of getting level -3, -2, +2, +3 from the chief designer level when creating a new chassis * Fixed a bug where in some cases the AI did not repair the engine when the balance was negative, even if the engine was free * The cost of maintaining buildings has been reduced by almost three times. The incorrect value of the cost led to the gradual bankruptcy of the Kinowaki team, which has the maximum level of buildings. * Fixed a bug where the sale of shares could lead to a decrease in the salary limit for drivers and staff * On the sponsor search screen you can now add a sponsorship sticker by clicking on the letter in the right panel
* Fixed a bug when filters in news were not saved * Fixed a bug when the chassis level banned by the new regulations was not displayed on the chassis for the next season screen.
Fan translations: * Added Italian fan localization (more than 90% of the text has been translated). Thanks to Discord users matcap, Angelo446951, das111 * Added French fan localization (more than 90% of the text has been translated). Thanks to Discord user Hoginfinity
Update: * A new screen has been added that allows you to edit salary limits set by team management. Now you can increase some limits at the expense of others
Looking at your playthroughs, and feedback, it became apparent that the current way of progression limits the amount of the game people tend to play through and enjoy.
It was way too easy to get stuck on a level, get frustrated, and quit the game. Now, our goal is not to remove the challenge alltogether, but we'd like to give you some more freedom in how you can complete the game.
So, now as soon as you complete the first section of the game, and unlock the lemur's den where you select levels, you can choose to complete the worlds in any order that you want. Midway through playing a world, you can also go play another world, and come back to finish your progress later.
Completing a world now gives you the building blocks from it to use in the level editor, so you can make your own levels with the world's elements, backgrounds, and music.
Level workshop also reflects the easier world unlocking, as you can play any level from any player, regardless if you completed that world or not.
Besides that, we have fixed a lot of small bugs here and there.
On a sadder note, minor physics changes have been introduced, but that does mean that some of the playthroughs registered in the leaderboards are no longer valid, as the same input leads to a different outcome. We will go through the leaderboards and update them so that all of the entries on the leaderboard will have a valid replay and a correct completion time.
We hope you enjoy the update, and we are looking forward for more feedback and seeing more playthroughs in the later worlds from you on the leaderboards 🙂
It’s the holiday season and what better gift than the final Inflexion’s Reflections of the year!
To celebrate, we want to introduce a new recurrent section called: Inflexion Flexes - allowing members of the Inflexion team to show off some of their creative endeavours within the Realms. But before we jump into that it’s time to delve into some Nightingale newness.
COMPACT CRITTERS
New critter alert! Ever the heartwarming sight, we have two of our newest critters to introduce, as they rustle and swish their way into the Realms in time for Early Access.
Eoten Sapling
Catepelose
BRANCHING OUT
Speaking of creatures, one that you’ll already be familiar with is the Sere Eoten. These desert dwellers might spark hesitation when you first encounter them but, if you tread carefully, they’re actually quite generous… The Eoten already had a “shimmy-like” animation, so we added a bit of function to its skittish movements. It now drops/poops a pile of sticks!
NAME CHANGE
Earlier this year, we introduced the swamp native Brippo. The team has since given it a name change! So, we thought it only fair to reintroduce you all to the Galumph. Given its look and surly demeanor we think the new name suits it brilliantly.
FIN-TASTIC ADDITIONS
We added fish to the game! Depending on where you see these new scaly friends, whether it be in oceans or lakes, the fish will correspond to its proper ecosystem. Meaning, saltwater fish will be found only in oceans and freshwater fish will be found in lakes. And, of course, with the addition of fish there must be a way to catch them. Yes, you can fish in Nightingale!

INFLEXION FLEXES
Now for our new Inflexion Reflections section full of fun Inflexion flexing. In honor of our oFISHial friends above (we won’t stop with the puns), here is a beautiful Fishing Pier created by our Art Director, Neil Thompson and Media Capture Artist, Manuel Aguirre, built out of the Pagoda Estate set in a forest Realm.
BUG OF THE MONTH
Honestly… this one is a mis-TREE. We wish you all a great holiday season and we’ll see you in the new year!
Play the demo for The City of Fury and test the game's core gameplay. Plan your positioning, use your grenades, and clean all the rooms until you reach the final boss of the demo.
Dropping in with a little progress update on Episode 2.
Before I start this, I have to say my apologies for not pushing one of these out earlier. I said I’d do better with Steam progress updates, and I’ve left it a little too long. New year’s resolution – at least monthly!
Onto the progress update:
I’ve almost rendered the whole of the main story (excluding the courtroom – honestly, because it’s so resource heavy and tough to work on with so many characters in one scene!). This is a real milestone because essentially, I’ve almost got Episode 2 to an end-to-end playable state, barring a few scenes.
So, what’s left to do? I still need to render the court room scenes (as mentioned above), then create the remaining animations, add sound, add RS points, some GUI bits and pieces, testing and then we’re pretty much there.
I’m aiming for a Q1 release, and I think that’s entirely do-able. I’ve a lot of time booked off as holiday from my day job over the festive period, so hoping to get a good chunk done then, and I’ll have a fresh set of holiday ready to use in the new year, of which a few weeks will be going straight into Jury.
I really appreciate your patience. I know it’s frustrating. I’ve been on the other end of waiting for the next episode also, but hopefully it’s going to be worth it for everyone involved. It seems like every scene I do ends up being my favourite, which I’m taking myself as the scenes get better and better!
I’ve created some simple but festive backgrounds for you all. I’m certainly no whizz at making things like this, but hopefully you’ll enjoy seeing some of your favourite characters dressed up!
(edit: Just realised you can't download the wallpapers on steam. Feel free to join the discord if you want them. They are all in there https://discord.gg/zm3vEg6G)
I’ll check in with you all again later in December!

I guess I’ll show some sneak peeks too while I’m here…
