New difficulty level added The New. Reworked AI penalties on lower difficulty levels.
Passive AI will not capture cities from a player who originally founded them

Reduced Schemer leader orders per war from 2 to 1

The 2023 Steam Awards are here and we'd LOVE for you to nominate Bloons TD 6 for the Labor of Love category. Click above to nominate Bloons TD 6!
2023 has been huge for Bloons TD 6.
It began with the first update of the year, bringing a brand new, Bloon chomping tower to the game. The Beast Handler commands and controls powerful beasts that crush, scratch, carry, and chew up and spit out Bloons.
Players can unlock the Beast Handler with a special Quest. Quests are also new this year, and we've got 13 in the game, with another batch coming in update 40 and huge plans for where we can go with Quests.
Then, as if a new tower wasn't enough, map creation came to BTD6 with the Map Editor.
The Map Editor allows you to create custom maps with a huge selection of tools at your disposal. The creativity of the community, from day 1, literally (figuratively) blew our minds. It's astounding to think that this is just the beginning of the potential of the map editor. Check out the Trending and Most Liked maps in-game and keep an eye out for more showcases of awesome maps players have created.
We've had new Hero skins for Pat Fusty, Sauda, Etienne and Admiral Brickell. The Magus Perfectus, Wizard Paragon. New maps. Competitive and Casual modes for Contested Territories. New Boss rules (least tiers, least cash). A new boss, Phayze, the Reality Warper. Tonnes of new cosmetics. Plenty of balance changes, bug fixes and quality of life improvements... There's probably even more stuff I'm forgetting.
An upcoming zombies mode is coming soon to hood warfare. This mode will combine the forces of the bloods, crips, and vatos fighting to survive a zombie outbreak in the hood of detroit. This is a co-op mode featuring 4 players. This mode will be released in the next few weeks so stay tuned.
We have pushed a quick fix to solve an overly bright reflection probe firing when entering certain indoor environments in certain conditions.
Once you have updated your game with this hotfix, if you continue to experience issues please let us know in the support channel on Discord so we can assist you.
All players will need to have updated to the latest build to play together in multiplayer.
We will continue to hotfix as we improve the game so please stay tuned for further updates.
With the start of the Autumn Sale, nominations for this year’s Steam Awards are underway and we’d like to ask for your support by nominating Empires of the Undergrowth for the Labor of Love Award.
In the years since Early Access release, we’ve continued to improve Empires of the Undergrowth with huge, game-expanding updates - but we’re not done yet. We know all too well that our tiny team takes their time on the major updates, but we do that in the name of quality - and your kindness in supporting that allows us to take a considered approach. We couldn’t be more grateful, so this isn’t just our labor of love - it’s yours too!
Over the past year, we’ve been working on the following:
A whole bunch of changes to custom games, including Skirmish - a new way to play freeplay maps.
More up-to-date artwork for the beach and rotting log levels, bringing them in line with the visual fidelity of the more recent parts of the game - our aim is not just to finish the game, but have it be at its best possible quality too.
Extended the climbing system to many more creatures in the game, really helping us settle into the skin-crawling feeling of ants crawling over everything!
Working towards completing the systems and artwork for our final release, tier 5 – which will feature 3 new campaign levels set in an as-yet unrevealed location. Then a final climactic formicarium challenge which the scientist has been preparing your colony for!
Bug fixes (ha!)
And many more updates!
We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you, the community, supporting our game throughout development and with each update we’ve brought to Empires of the Undergrowth. We are incredibly grateful for your support, and we know there will be a lot of competition for this award, so your nomination means the world to us. Please check the nominate button that’s part of this post if you would like to consider us for the Labor of Love award for the 2023 Steam Awards.
We've been experimenting with new ways to handle summons, and we've finally settled on an approach that makes sense. Summons are no longer reliant on the interaction between essence and resources; instead, they operate on separate cooldowns. These cooldowns can be used on open gates or lands under your control to summon creatures. Additionally, we've introduced Miracles—a temporary type of summon that can only be attacked by Priests or by using Smite.
Reduced general melee knockback and removed additive knockback
Enemy vessels will not target lands where the altar has been destroyed
Steam Id is now tracked, allowing you to see all games played by a specific player
Love The Flame, cost reduction 5 -> 3
All summons are now cooldown based and no longer requires a resource
Summons now have their own buttons
You can now summon directly into an open gate
Miracles are a new kind of entities that has a continuous effect and can only bee attacked by priests or attacked using Smite
Howling Spirits is now a miracle
Slithering Death is now the default Desert/Leaf Miracle, instead of Oasis
Tranquility (Leaf) is a miracle that restores food and trees
Tranquility is now the default the default Plains/Leaf Miracle, instead of Maypole
Conflagration (Ember) is a miracle that sets everything on fire
Deep Quiet (Moon) is a miracle that forces all creature to sleep and dream
Fountain of Kings (coin) is a miracle that spawns fool's gold
