After a couple of months of hard work porting our game to mobile, we can now announce that Extinction Eclipse is officially available for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) on the App Store.
We put a lot of effort adapting the controls, gameplay and screens to work great on touch screens and we are very happy with the end result.
For instance, we worked a version of the map that can be expanded from the mini map and move selected ships from there, allowing you, the player, to control your fleet easily.
And of course, we adapted the tutorial for this touch controls version.
The game will be available for pre-order a week from today with a great discount: $1.99, then it will be on the regular price of $2.99
During all this time we received a lot of comments about Extinction Eclipse being a perfect fit for mobile, so now we are happy to bring it to you. We are also working on an Android port! It will be available on the Google Play Store soon.

Fellow Traveller sat down with the solo developer jakefriend to talk about the gameās development, the influence of Zelda, secret areas, and more.
Fellow Traveller (FT): Who is Jakefriend? Tell us about yourself!
Hello! Iām jakefriend, or Jake, a solo developer living near Toronto, Canada. I was a hobbyist game developer (as well as hobbyist musician and artist) back in the 2010s, and never had an intention to make a career out of any of my more creative pursuits. COVID happened, and I decided to make a small demo for my pandemic hobby project for fun, which got strangely popular, and well⦠one thing sort of led to another! Iāve been doing this full-time since a successful Kickstarter in early 2021, with a really tight-knit and friendly community thatās been with me the whole way.
FT: Tell us about Scrabdackle. Howās development going? Whatās it about?
Scrabdackle is a game set in a fantasy world where you play as a novice student wizard, Blue, whoās been abruptly thrust out of their sheltered life for the first time, and who comes to learn and appreciate the world and the people living in it. Itās all about the joy of exploration, the value and strength of communities, and that itās worth standing and fighting for a better world for everyone. Though, it wasnāt always about these things! I set out just to make something fun and playful, and it feels in a weird way like a lot of the themes sort of emerged on their own as I spent more time in the setting.
FT: Scrabdackle is described as a āzeldalike adventureā. To what extent did the top-down Zelda games influence your design?
Iām a huge fan of the older top-down Zeldas! Thereās a ton of charm to me in a game with a large, open world, discrete screens to get familiar with, and simple controls for combat and navigation. While Scrabdackle isnāt evoking the classic Zelda aesthetic, the spirit is definitely there, in its nonlinearity and interest in a large, sprawling, continuous world that slowly opens up to you, filled with challenges and curiosities.
FT: Even the Scrabdackle demo is full of secret areas. How many total secrets are there to discover in the game?
The whole game is pretty jam-packed! A favorite from the demo is a hidden cave full of trash bandits. A few nearby characters hint that thereās a bandit lair somewhere on the south side of the river, and thereās one spot along the river thatās got a bandit guarding seemingly nothing. If you poke around and find the hidden entrance, not only do you have a small challenge event that nets you a secret collectible, but you also meet a major character earlier than you might otherwise, which opens up new dialogue paths with them in the future! Thereās tons of optional content hidden for observant players to find throughout every area (and thereās a LOT of areas!).
FT: Weāve heard that when youāre developing a game, people tend to get attached to certain items, NPCs, enemies, and so on. What has been your favorite to design for the game?
Ooh, tough question! Itās probably Flamajesty, the duck emperor, who is a giant, prideful flamingo. You dramatically duel them on a rooftop at sunset, and their moveset is really all over the place and a lot of fun ā sometimes they use their long neck and beak as a blade, sometimes as a jackhammer, and sometimes they spin like a top to close the distance between you! Itās a really charming character design to me, although it was quite a lot of work to animate!
FT: Thank you for talking about Scrabdackle with us!

Despot's Game: Dystopian Battle Simulator - George Kulko
Hi hi, puny humans!
You know what time it is! It's Slime Time yet again, and our team's here to chat about that green nonchalant dude from our upcoming action roguelite Slime 3K: Rise Against Despot everyone's been excited about. Yes, we're talking about Slime, and today, we want to kick off a series of posts about its misadventures.
ā£ļøThe GOOfy Misadventures of Slimeā£ļø
Episode 1: Introduction š
"sup y'all, name's Slime, and I just want to destroy stuff"
'So what the hell is Slime?' you may ask. Well, in technical terms, it's a blob of slime. But not just some blob! Slime is the result of a wild experiment by its former master, Despot.
See, it was initially just some goo used for creating artificial humans. But then it came to life! We reckon it might even have a soul now, lol. Anyway, here's the deal: it is on a mission to defeat Despot, break out of his dungeon, and *do random stuff*. Or destroy the planet. Honestly, it's hard to understand what's inside that jelly Slime uses as a brain.
Turns out our master Despot caught wind of Slime's plan and sent legions of genetically engineered creatures after its sticky ass. We guess it's worth mentioning these legions include puny humans, too! Despot can make as many of those meatbags as he wishes, so it's not going to be easy for the gooey fella.
But guess what! As seen in the GIF above, Slime's got a trick or two up its sleeve. The green guy's squishy "body" can absorb different weapons, from AK-47s to boomerangs to watermelons š. Yeah, watermelons can be downright dangerous when flung at the right angle!
Anyway, Slime's power-ups come in the form of cardsācards that it unlocks, adds to its own deck, and buys when leveling up. It can assemble up to five decks and switch 'em out. š
Speaking of the radioactive barrels ā¢ļø: they seem to alter Slime's DNA! Collect those to make it more powerful. š
Now, all these upgrades and power-ups help our sticky "friend" fight off hordes of disposable minions. š
A thousand or two dead humans is pocket money for master Despot, so Slime should expect PLENTY MORE where that came from. But Slime doesn't care: He likes nothing more than random violence! Anyways, folks, we hope you had a blast getting to know our green chaotic bastard.
