Chernobylite Complete Edition - Pablo
Hello Stalkers!
Creating costumes for characters is more than draping a shirt over a back, putting on tattered pants, and affixing anything you can get your hands on to a jacket and calling them "decorations." Sometimes there is a whole philosophy behind such actions!

Take Sashko for example. In one of the previous reports we described his outfit: the sporty appearance of a parkour competitor, which consists of a light, airy shirt and a light mask suitable for free breathing, Cossack-patriotic elements (hairstyle, embroidered coat of arms of Ukraine on t-shirt) and ropes used for swinging in the Zone. It took us a lot of time to select clothes and accessories, not to mention finding the right materials and scanning them into the game. All this to emphasize his nature as a freelancer.

However, the real challenge was the Black Stalker. It's not visible at first glance, but if you look closely, you can see how many elements his outfit consists of.

The basic outfit of the Black Stalker mostly consists of the simplest elements that we had in our resources, such as a camouflage jacket and trousers and trekking shoes. The mask, on the other hand, was our own creation. We didn't want to give Stalker a regular gas mask because he would lose that dark vibe. That's why we decided to create our own version of the Black Stalker mask. We used a hockey mask with attached elements of an old gas mask and... washing machine parts.

The effect exceeded our wildest expectations. The design of the costume was so good that we used it many times during the photo session in the Zone.

But that's not the end of the work. Thanks to our graphic designer's concept sketches, we were able to plan further elements of the Black Stalker's outfit and even slightly modify it. For example, the hood has been extended to cover most of the Stalker's head; the mask itself looks more realistic and coherent, unlike its actual DIY model, and its colors refer to chernobylite crystals. Numerous patches, scarves, stitches, dirt and scratches have been added to the jacket and trousers, giving a heavily worn effect, and the shoes have been replaced with a more military model. We also added some other pieces of equipment, such as a knife sheath attached to the backpack strap and an additional bag attached on the right leg. We also took care of a small detail: instead of regular gloves, the Black Stalker has gloves with cut off fingers. Stalker's fingers themselves are black, indicating frostbite.

Someone might say that it was enough to just scan the model in the Black Stalker outfit. However, only thanks to the computer refinement of this character, we managed to achieve the desired effect, which is realism - here is a man who has been living in the Zone for years, so he cannot look as if he just came out of a clothes store.

Anyway, it's not our place to judge. We'll ask you what you think about it: do you like the character of Black Stalker as we presented him in the game? Let us know in the comments!

That's it for today!
Take care, Stalkers!

ACRES - Jimi
Hello, everyone!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for wishlisting and helping to spread the word about ACRES! It's truly heartwarming to witness the level of interest and support we've received. I've been hard at work on several updates as we draw nearer to the release date. I'm thrilled to announce that we have now officially confirmed the release date: October 18, 2023.

Chicken Runs

Exciting news! Our farm is now home to a flock of chickens! These clever creatures will be residing in specially designed chicken runs, which can be strategically positioned alongside our crop rows. What makes them so valuable is their ability to naturally break down plants and cover crops, rejuvenating the soil without the unfortunate soil compaction that can occur with tractors.

Here's how it works: The chicken runs will systematically cycle through each acre cell, diligently feasting on and digging into the planted crop within that cell. Once they've completed their work in each cell of the run, they can either circle back to the original cell or can be relocated to a different row on the farm. Keep in mind that each chicken run installation will have an initial cost of $2,880, and should you decide to move them, it will incur an additional charge of $13.

Welcome to a new era of farming efficiency and sustainability with our feathered friends!

Beehives
We're thrilled to introduce another exciting addition to our farm: beehives! These beehives are a one-cell buildable item that you can easily access from the placeables menu, and each one comes at a cost of $950. What makes them truly invaluable is their remarkable ability to reduce pollination times for adjacent acres, resulting in a 10% acceleration in crop growth.

The magic of beehives extends in an impressive 8-cell square radius, benefiting all the cells within that range. With these industrious bees by our side, we're looking forward to faster and more bountiful harvests. Beehives are yet another step towards enhancing the productivity and prosperity of our farm.

Cover Crops

Even more exciting news for our farming endeavors! We've introduced cover crops to our lineup, offering you a fantastic way to nurture and rejuvenate the soil in between harvests. These cover crops play a vital role in replenishing the soil, gradually infusing it with essential nutrients during each growth cycle.

Just like our cash crops, cover crops, once they reach maturity, can also be seamlessly incorporated back into the soil using our efficient plow tools. The unique advantage of cover crops lies in their higher dig-in values, ensuring that they contribute even more nutrients to the soil, enriching it for future plantings.

For your convenience, here are the current nutrient values for each of our cover crops:

Crimson Clover

Soil Structure

Soil structure for each acre can be monitored in the lower right hand screen with the vertical bar.

In this latest ACRES update, we're excited to introduce a significant enhancement to our soil health system by incorporating soil structure values. This innovative addition has a direct impact on the growth rate of your crops.

A higher soil structure value can supercharge the growth rate of each crop, potentially boosting it up to an impressive 1.5 times its normal speed. Conversely, a lower soil structure value can hamper growth, slowing it down to as little as 0.2 times the usual rate.

Soil structure isn't static; it's influenced by various factors, including the manipulation of the soil through tractor use, tools, and the crops themselves. Tractors, in particular, have a compaction effect on the soil, decreasing its structure. Larger tractors exert a more significant compaction force.

However, there are proactive measures you can take to enhance soil structure. Introducing organic matter into the soil through methods such as cover crops, chicken runs, and peat moss will elevate the soil structure, providing your planted crops' roots with ample space to thrive and flourish. It's a dynamic system that empowers you to optimize your farm's productivity like never before.

Fuel Storage Tanks

Introducing a game-changing addition to our farm infrastructure: fuel storage tanks! These innovative buildable items are here to revolutionize our fuel management system by expanding our maximum fuel capacity.

As a starting point, our farm can initially hold 200 gallons of diesel fuel. However, the beauty of the fuel storage tanks lies in their ability to augment this capacity. Each additional fuel storage tank you purchase and build will further boost the fuel storage by an additional 200 gallons.

Designed to be compact and efficient, these fuel storage tanks occupy a 1x3 cell space and are available at a cost of $3,450 each. With these tanks in place, we'll have the power to store and manage our fuel resources like never before, ensuring that we're always ready for the demands of a busy farming season.

Additional Updates
  • Sell Land Tool
  • Show upgrade quantity in seed bin tooltip
  • Changed new land row & field tools to purchase 8 cells instead of 10
  • Clearer +/- value indicators & Normalize crop display digits
  • Move placeable building tool

Bugfixes:
  • Exiting tool hides in world while still allowing action
  • Single row harvester mesh to not look so much like a baler
  • Endless mode ignored on load
  • Any cell selectable for remove & move placeable tool
  • Gamepad controller full navigation in loan menu

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation once more for your unwavering support and keen interest in ACRES! The enthusiasm surrounding our project has been truly inspiring, and we are eagerly counting down the days until our launch on October 18th. Stay tuned for an exciting journey ahead!

Next Wednesday, we are going to release a small hotfix. Here are some changes for it.

1. Assault Rein: decreased primary weapon horizontal recoil by 20%. Also, we are boosting the operator's movement speed from 3.2 to 3.3, as well as his sprint speed from 5 to 5.3. According to the stats, Rein has been weaker than his counterparts; this is why he is going to be buffed.

2. Assault Faro: increased primary weapon rate of fire from 9.4 to 10.5. The Spaniard has also been lagging behind other Assaults, so he will be buffed too.

3. Marksman Víðarr's Rovdjur Drone: decreased detection area by 15%. It will no longer make sudden turns behind the cover if enemies are standing there. We will show a comparison in the next post.

Monster Mop Up - Teh Zok

While we're working hard to bring you Monster Mop Up, we wanted to give you some behind the scenes photos and videos at how the levels are created!

The same ones you will be playing on the final game, or the one you already finished on the demo!

At the beginning only the white void exists!

After researching a level comes the Previz stage, a blueprint of a level the level designer walks to get a feel of the level and add, remove or resize rooms!

Then come the walls!

At the Blockout stage, we get a better feel for the environment and a rough look at the bulky furniture and items.

Walls 2: Revenge of the walls

The real walls are placed and more items are swapped or put into better place to serve the flow of the level.

Let there be Light!

Illuminating the level is tricky, so it can serve the mood and atmosphere and also help highlight some of the objects.

Even more details!

Smaller items, that you can play around and give some environmental narrative are added. We might have went overboard with how many items some levels contain!

RAGAMUFFIN TIME
The Ragamuffins are added, along with any mess they created and changes are made depending on their path of (cute) destruction to the whole level!

Thank you for being here! Have a good one!
Heroes of Book & Paper - LeMachinga
A couple of days ago I received good suggestions and feedback from a HB&P player: DazaKiwi.

Thanks to his ideas, the game has received a lot of improvements. One of them is to be able to create a new character in the middle of a game, keeping the progress of the adventures and the endings achieved.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, DazaKiwi.

Here is the complete changelog v1.25:

IMPROVEMENTS
- The 'New Game' button, in the options page, now also allows the possibility to create a new level 1 character without initial items, but keeping the progress of the quests obtained. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- The 'New Game' button now better explains and warns about the consequences of starting a new game or creating a new character from the options page. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- The Character Hit Points indicator on the main page now also indicates the character's maximum Hit Points. (Credit DazaKiwi)
- When hovering the mouse over the equipped armor from the inventory page, the name of the armor and its value are now displayed (although this value was already displayed next to the armor, it is now also displayed on the left side of the page as well as the weapons).
- Some minor additional improvements.

ADDED
- Added two new images of devastated steppe to the game.
- New phrases for the Prophet of Doom in the story 'The Barbarian'.
- An image of 'vapors' has been added to the corridor of the Serpent Tower in the story 'The Barbarian'.

CHANGES
- The location and distribution, as well as the format of the Hit Points, Gold, and Experience points indicators in the game panel have been slightly modified to accommodate and display in a more comfortable way the new implementation of the character's Maximum Hit Points.
- Devastated steppe locations are now generated when the player travels through Kali's territories in the 'Song of Kings & Wars' storyline. (Because the game could generate green and fertile landscapes in that adventure, in that particular land, that have little to do with Turania).
- A few texts have been modified.

BUGFIXES
- Fixed a bug where when loading several different games, when entering the inventory some objects could indicate that they caused a certain amount of damage. By hovering the mouse over that particular object, it is automatically corrected.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the player to press the main menu option buttons before they appear when starting a new game (Credit DazaKiwi).
- The formatting of some texts has been revised.
- A spelling error has been corrected on page 150 'The military camp' (Song of kings & wars' story).

- Thank you for reading -
