World of Warships - Unrug_WG

IMPORTANT! Because the update is still being tested, the information in this bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics won’t necessarily be relevant after the update is released.

Please note: The rewards for activities on the Public Test Server may differ from those on the Live Server.

Update 12.9 brings forth a new Halloween Operation from the eerie dusk! You can take part in the Last Chapter Operation and finally bring to an end the conflict between the Forces of Light and the Twilight fleet. This time, you need to escort Transylvania and protect her from enemy forces as she travels on her way to deliver a special explosive to destroy the Portal once and for all!

You can participate in Last Chapter playing your own Tier VIII–IX ships of all types. Their appearance will be changed with a themed black-and-gold camouflage with special visual effects. All ships will receive special modifiers to even out their performance in the Operation.

Additionally, your team's ships will receive extra buffs each time one of your teammates' ships is destroyed, giving you a chance to complete the operation even if your team suffers multiple ship losses.

As in previous Halloween events, the map is covered in Filth, and it gradually damages ships if they linger too long in it. Transylvania is surrounded by a safe zone that moves with the ship; however, her magic weakens over the course of the battle, causing the safe zone to become smaller until it reaches its minimum size.

In Update 12.9 three new Japanese battleships—
, , and —will enter Early Access. To celebrate the occasion, Port Kure has been decorated.
During the Early Access period, Personal Challenges will again become available to all players.

The new Japanese battleships won't be available on the Public Test server.

War Thunder - Blitzkrieg Wulf

Battlecruiser Kurama, the most advanced Ibuki-class ship, will be the grand naval prize of the upcoming Tokushu Heiki event!

Kurama, battlecruiser, Japan, rank V. Event Vehicle.

Features:
  • More firepower in the form of auxiliary weapons.
  • Improved armor protection.
  • Low speed.

Battlecruiser Kurama will arrive at Japan's Bluewater research tree as an event vehicle which can be obtained during the upcoming Tokushu Heiki event that starts on September 26th! Kurama offers 305 mm main battery guns, an excellent selection of auxiliary caliber weapons, and alongside this, good armor protection — but with this, low speed and maneuverability, and a fairly long reload time. Let’s dive into the details!

The closest relative of the upcoming Battlecruiser Kurama is the classic pre-war cruiser Ikoma. Kurama can be seen as the result of development of Tsukuba-class ships, although not all plans to improve these ships came to reality. Let’s compare them — what do these two pre-war ships have in common, and how do they differ? To start, their combat capability is similar in the form of 4 x 305 mm guns in two turrets that have excellent armor for this time period. Next, the hull itself is also well protected, with the Kurama’s armor in general being superior to the Ikoma — and thanks to this extra thicker armor at the bow and stern, the Kurama’s survivability is increased!

The main difference between these two ships lies with their additional weapons. 6 x 152 mm guns in casemates along the sides are replaced with 203 mm guns, with four guns on each side. It’s certainly worth noting that 203 mm guns are typically the main caliber for Heavy Cruisers, but on the Kurama they’re additional auxiliary guns. A large gun on pre-war ships typically means a longer reload, and unfortunately the Kurama is no exception to this, meaning each volley that you fire will require careful aiming.

In addition to the long reload times, we’d also like to mention that the Kurama is slow — coming in with a top speed of just 21.25 Knots (39.3 km/h). The Kurama also lacks fast-firing anti-aircraft guns, as these types of guns were simply not needed around this period of time. Having said this, the Kurama can still hold up against aircraft at medium altitudes, which sets it apart from many ships of the First World War time period.

Want to add the Kurama to your classic pre-war naval collection? If you do, it’s going to be available to obtain in the upcoming Tokushu Heiki event, with the details surrounding this event being released on September 25th. Stay tuned to our news and see you soon!

Silence of the Siren - vojta.oxymoron
If somebody wrote a Fossorian Encyclopedia, the cover of the book would display cute space moles dressed in ornate uniforms in front of a pompous military parade in the background. Row after row of soldiers marching in tight formations through the vast, clean streets lined with crowds of cheering workers dressed in colorful overalls.

The introduction of the book would speak about their impressive army relying mainly on the overwhelming numbers and brute strength of the ground forces. High morale, uplifted by watchful officers of the Commissars Core and inspired by stories about the brave deeds of heroic commanders. Despite their undisputed ground force dominance, there is a small chance that the author would mention some vague information about the relatively unsatisfactory state of the faction’s Space Navy and the dismal technical condition of most of their ships still recovering after a rather dramatic escape from the Fossorian homeworld, long journey to the Siren System and the unfortunate clash with the much more technologically advanced fleet of the UNSS (United Nations of the Solar System).

Another few pages of the very verbose encyclopedia would be addressing underground bases. These fortified marvels of brutalist engineering sprawl in gargantuan caverns. Flipping through the pages, the next section would elaborate on the steadily growing network of tunnels used for safe and quick transportation of units and materials. Fossorian colonies are capable of producing a seemingly endless stream of goods far below the Fairtrade prices, but to unveil the secrets behind their economic efficiency the reader must wait for the later chapters.

If we overlook the aforementioned military dominance and economic strength, the end of the book's introduction would surely list a few other good reasons why the other factions trapped in the Siren System fear, tolerate, and even like to cooperate with Fosorians. Let's discuss at least some of them here.

Metaphorically speaking, all factions are stranded on an island surrounded by a sea of hostile natives, alien and mostly dangerous wildlife. Unstable ecosystems are always ready to wipe out whole colonies with ravaging storms, and remnants of the Holy War are an active threat even after centuries. Under such harsh conditions, striving for peaceful cooperation seems to be a much smarter option than risking an open conflict with the neighboring faction.

The Fossorians are also known for their successful land conquest, biting chunk after chunk from the tribal territories. This slow but steady effort is expanding the amount of land secured against the raids of natives while helping to export the danger far from the most populated areas. Every now and then a courageous Fossorian explorer uncovers another piece of mysterious technology hidden amid the dangerous ruins of the ancient Primals. Thanks to the fact that the overseeing organizations of the Fossorian command are prone to look aside (usually for a reasonable contribution to someone's "pension fund"), many of the artifacts and rare technologies end up on the black market and subsequently in research facilities of other more technologically advanced factions.

Now if it wasn't Fossorians themselves, but researchers from one of the other races who wrote this book, it would also list items like Totalitarian fanaticism, Sadistic junta, Slaver business, Pathological traitor syndrome, or Endless spiral of revolutions after which you slowly begin to realize that maybe, just maybe, the Fossorians are not the nicest or the fairest players in the Siren System. But as the Fossorian ambassador has stated on the last peace summit: ”Even if a small fraction of those unsupported claims would reflect reality (which it certainly DOES NOT, my Goodfellas), it would be classified as a inner state business of the Fosorian nation, with absolutely no impact on the international politics of the Siren System and unworthy of your concerns. Now, gentlemen, if you excuse me, I have spotted an unattended bowl of Tunnel worm caviar over there.”

Of course, the whole idea of a ‘Fossorian Encyclopedia’ is absolutely ludicrous. Nobody is dumb enough to write such a book and mark himself as the next target of the Fossorian death commando.
