About the Route
The Joban Line runs from Ueno Station in Taito-ku, Tokyo, to Sendai Station in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, via Chiba, Ibaraki, and Fukushima prefectures, and is the longest line among JR lines not named "Main Line.
Until now, the Joban Line has operated to and from Ueno Station, but on March 14, 2015, the Ueno Tokyo Line began service, with some trains now running between Shinagawa and Ueno.
This DLC includes the Ueno Tokyo Line between Shinagawa Station and Ueno Station and the Joban Line between Ueno Station and Katsuta Station.
The line is characterized by the change of electrification system along the way, and there is a DC/AC switchover (dead section) between Toride and Fujishiro stations.
(Shinagawa Station to Toride Station: 1500V DC, Fujishiro Station to Sendai Station: 20,000V AC)
Another major feature of this line is that it can operate at 130 km/h, the highest speed on a conventional JR line.
The first half of the line shows a significant change in scenery along the line from an office area in central Tokyo to a bed town. The second half of the line features the peaceful green landscape of Ibaraki Prefecture.
The long-distance route, which takes about two hours, allows passengers to enjoy driving while viewing the changing scenery along the route.

  • Renewal of some UI to implement multiple train schedules

    ▲After selecting a route, you will be redirected to a screen where you can select the train schedule and the starting station.


    ▲The train schedule selection screen is designed in the motif of LCD departure markers at stations, and the timetable used by drivers is displayed on the right side of the screen. The operation information allows you to check the date and time of operation and the level of congestion.
    *The train schedule used by the driver is newly created for the simulator and differs from the one actually used.


    ▲The start station selection screen now reflects station numbering. (For some lines).

  • Chuo Line rapid Service - TIMS train type setting function (automatic selection)
    In the Chuo Special Rapid Service train schedule, a function to automatically set the TIMS train type selection at Tachikawa and Nakano stations has been implemented.

  • Oito Line - implementation of conductor voice broadcasts on additional timetables
    With the cooperation of the Matsumoto Transportation District, we implemented a conductor's broadcast using his own voice.(3113M Local Train bound for Hotaka, 3241M Local Train bound for Shinano-Omachi)

  • Senseki Line - implementation of conductor voice broadcasts on additional timetables
    With the cooperation of the Miyagino Transportation District, we implemented a conductor's broadcast using his own voice.(763S Local Train bound for Tagajo,781S Local Train bound for Matsushimakaigan)

  • Keiyo Line - implementation of conductor voice broadcasts on additional timetables
    With the cooperation of the Soga Transportation District, we implemented a conductor's broadcast using his own voice.(780Y Local Train bound for Tokyo)

  • Yamanote Line - implementation of conductor voice broadcasts on additional timetables
    With the cooperation of the Ikebukuro Transportation District, we implemented a conductor's broadcast using his own voice.(876G Local Train bound for Osaki)

  • Yamanote and Keiyo Lines - The timing of conductor announcements has been corrected.
    Timing has been changed to take into account a series of basic actions (backward check).

  • The display range of the stop position mark has been corrected.
    Changed the moving scale of the stop position display and stop position mark ♦. (5m forward/backward → 3m forward/backward)

  • The effective range of regenerative braking for Senseki Line Series 205 and Oito Line Series 211 has been corrected.
    The unit indicator light turns off at about 25 km/h as the effective range of the regenerative brake is modified.

    Fixed the mission text which was incorrectly stating progress through the mission.
    The targeted Megaship is now correctly highlighted as a mission destination.
    The mission title has been updated to better describe the task of the mission (it no longer says "data link data link")
    Only one mission that targets a Megaship can now be held at a time.
  • Fix applied to prevent game crashes on startup in VR following update 16 - Issue ID 60787
  • A fix has been applied to prevent some missions from giving out incorrect rewards - Issue ID 35910

  • A fix has been implemented to prevent coral sap from teleporting into the air after being shot off a coral tree.
  • A fix has been implemented for a crash that could happen if an unexpected communication with the server occurred, just before engaging your ship's hyperdrive.
  • Ship shields now reform to their current recharge level when re-entering normal space from supercruise.
  • Fixed impounded ship release cost appearing in the UI as the ship transfer time.
  • Fixed duplication of nav panel distress signal after Commanders would disembark and re-board their ship.
  • A fix has been implemented for the inability to be able to increase listing price of high value items by more than 5% in Fleet Carriers.
  • Search & Rescue ships will no longer attempt to use repair limpets on damaged ships that are flying too close to the surface of a planet for them to confidently reach.
  • Thargoid ships will no longer get stuck outside Starports because they are trying to engage targets trying to seek safety on the inside.
  • Thargoid Scouts no longer fly away too quickly when dropping off new Revenants.
  • A fix has been implemented to address a situation where interdictions during multi-crew sessions could sometimes become stuck.
  • Hatch breaker limpets will now take better account of their target's velocity.
  • The ability for a collector limpet to handle obtaining items from the ground has been improved.
  • Fixed squadron rank name changes not working.
  • Larceny missions will now allow you to consistently find the requested item.
  • Fixed a rare issue where embarking your ship could disrupt the flow of a mission, potentially preventing it from being possible to then complete.

Songs of Conquest - Lavapotion
Greetings Wielders!

We’ve been in Early Access for just a little more than one year now. To all who've played, joined our community, or given feedback: a heartfelt thank you from the Lavapotion dev team! Initially, we aimed for a full release this quarter, but after careful thought, we've decided to move it forward. Please allow us to clarify the decision.

Nearly half a million people have wishlisted our game, which is to be honest both unexpected and humbling. The Adventure Strategy genre isn't the largest anymore, yet you've demonstrated that the demand endures. But to put it simply: if the game isn't 1.0-ready, we have to acknowledge it and persevere through ongoing development. So let's check out the new roadmap, upcoming changes and the reasons for them.

The AI
First of all, we want to acknowledge that we are not satisfied with the current state of the AI for a full release. We have a solid development plan for it and we know what to do, it just has taken longer than we had planned. It takes a lot of time to get all the basic systems working and we are close to that point right now. With nine out of ten play sessions being single player it is obvious that the AI is of utmost importance.


The new region system features natural borders and minimizes changes to it over time, in order to better guide the AI in navigating and expanding across the map.



Randomly generated maps
Around a fourth of all game sessions are played on random maps. We want to make sure that the experience is varied, exciting and perfect each time. We are currently collecting feedback regarding the random maps in order to refine and improve the code and design elements behind it all. For the game to stay relevant long term it is important that the randomly generated maps feels and plays just right.


Iteration, testing and improvements, that’s the recipe for success they say! So, we’ll iterate this some more and then improve it with the help of your feedback.


New user experience
Since we released into Early Access, we have created a lot of new features. We need to make sure that new players get to try out these new features and get the best possible experience when trying the game for the first time. This means taking a look in the rearview mirror and coming back to things (like campaign maps) that were designed years ago and making sure that they use all the new cool stuff. Similarly the UI needs to be adapted in order to best present all the new features, as well as highlighting the wonderfully handcrafted maps that you've created.

Steam Deck release
This one might come a bit out of the blue, but a lot of you guys want to play on your Steam Deck. Let me be clear that the addition of Steam Deck support has not impacted the decision to delay the release. It is an added bonus, rather than an obstacle in our development process. It is a lot of work, mainly because our UI needs a lot of re-scaling in order to work well on smaller screens. Fortunately we are helped by a great studio called Bitwave, so the time required on Lavapotions end is minimal. Bitwave are currently working with us to ensure that playing on the Steam Deck will feel like a native experience, not a sloppy port. The added benefit is that this will also enable us to have full gamepad support.


The game is running well on the Steam Deck, but UI elements and fonts still needs to be scaled up.



To sum it up
In the words of Shigeru Miyamoto: a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad. We are here for the long haul and we want to make this the best game it can be. The best days are still ahead of us and you can expect more exciting news in the coming months!
