Cantata - ModernFox

Commanders,

From the heart of our development journey in Early Access to our official launch two days ago, your continued support and feedback have been instrumental in shaping Cantata. As we enter this new chapter, we remain committed to enhancing your experience. This hotfix addresses several concerns you've highlighted since launch, ensuring Cantata continues to evolve and improve. We're grateful for your patience, dedication, and insights. Below, you'll find a detailed list of the latest updates. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where loading ammo or resources directly from one unit into the Bombard, Encampment, or Gunship would crash the game.
Note: Undertaking this action previously could corrupt your game saves (including any subsequent autosaves). While this patch prevents the bug from occurring in the future, it won't rectify those already corrupted saves. If you have a save you absolutely don't want to lose or roll back to a previous save, please @ericd or @its.emma on the Cantata Discord with your save file, and we'll do our best to assist.
  • Fixed an issue where deselecting a unit and moving the mouse after ordering it to move resulted in undefined behaviour.
  • Fixed an issue where graphical glitches would appear around certain units when hovered for outlines.
  • Fixed an issue where units would experience isometric sorting problems when moving behind another unit.
  • Fixed an issue where loaded scrap and remains would disappear when attempting to load into region storage.
  • Fixed an issue where interacting with default unit storage would crash the game.
  • Fixed an issue where tall tooltips would clip the screen's top edge when hovered.
  • Fixed an issue where the Engineering heal pattern was misaligned, making it difficult to target the desired interactable effectively.
  • Fixed an issue where the healing amount wasn't accurately displayed in tooltips.
  • Fixed an issue where health bars would extend beyond the tooltips.
  • Fixed an issue where, under certain window settings, the initial portrait of a dialog speaker would misalign from the screen's bottom.

Features
  • Unified tooltips for units/buildings to maintain consistent styling for unit/building information.
  • Introduced a feature to view unit storage contents via tooltips.
  • Enhanced attack preview in tooltips to display a skull icon when an attack would be fatal (replacing the previous -x display).
  • Introduced tooltips for requirement details.
  • Added tooltips for region storage while viewing unit UI.
  • Ghost units no longer need whispers for attacks.
  • Implemented the ability to load/unload in the Grand Bombard, Encampment, Builder Drone, and Gunship.

Marauders - [SIG] Ceeg
Welcome, Marauders

And welcome to all the new Space Pirates out there that joined us recently. What a weekend! Roughly 50,000 of you claimed a Drop on Twitch, with over 180 of you streaming Marauders throughout the campaign!

And now it’s time to get stuck into the Patch Notes for Plunder 1.1, hot on the heels of our last update! Oh and before I forget, remember to log in after the update to get in on the action of the Marauder Champion Tournament! It’s time to earn that Blood Nomad mask again!

There is a bunch of new stuff to get through, so on to the Patch Notes!

Known issues:
  • We are tracking an issue with EXISTING Meds from players stashes showing incorrect stack values. This issue seems to be resolving over time but we are watching closely!

TIMER REDUCTIONS
We have been monitoring time spent in raids and the average time taken to extract. So we wanted to rebalance timers to get to a happier median. This includes reducing the time before the space gate appears, increasing the match length in Raider mode and decreasing the Raider mode cooldown.

Breach or Bust
We’ve also tweaked how breaching damage works so there's a much smaller penalty to breaching a ship that is completely stationary. This way our new mechanics, like the different pods types can still be valid, and we can reduce some frustrations with these features. Once again, we will continue to monitor the statistics and make improvements in the future if need be!

De Lisle Improvements
  • New attachment - extended mag
  • New Animations
  • New sounds

Stacking Meds
  • Medical items can now be stacked! Here are the first items to receive this treatment:
  • Bandage
  • Small First Aid kit
  • Large Water bottle

Scrappable Items
We’ve added more items into the game, largely to take out with the purpose of scrapping for crafting purposes! These items are going to net you TONS of new resources! We also added some interesting new craft recipes! You can now CRAFT a toolkit if you have all the bits!

Hit Reg Fixes
We found and fixed a couple of hit registration issues where the server and client were not lining up correctly, especially with certain animations like leaning and shooting. This is a step forward and we will continue to investigate it, however you should see some improvements with hits being more consistent server side, especially headshots.

  • Certain medical and food items can now stack, bandage, small first aid and large water bottle
  • Pirate Bandage and Pirate First Aid are now craftable instead of standard bandage and Small First Aid Kit. These are around 10% to 25% stronger for healing and have higher stacking amounts.
  • Scrappable items have been added to the common, industrial and toolkit loot pools, these items give a bigger range of scrapping items; Wrench, Hammer, Flat Head, Work Belt, Table Fan, Bottle Caps, Work Gloves and Diesel Engine.
  • A Nuclear material Market Trade has been added.
  • De Lisle 20 round extended magazine can spawn in the Vault loot pool
  • You no longer take breaching damage when the ship is not piloted/idle (however the 10% falling damage remains).

  • Damage screen effects now fade in and out nicely instead of being instant
  • Extended mag now shows up on the De Lisle pickup when you drop your gun
  • Railings (on the stairs) on the Scout and Rustbucket Frigate have been removed to prevent vaulting issues.

  • Gate spawn timer has been reduced from 15 minutes to 10 minutes
  • Raider mode now has a 10 minute 30 second match length (up from 9 minutes 30 seconds).
  • Raider mode cooldown has been reduced by a minute.
  • Full Panzer Rig has been moved from the supply drops into the Gold Bullion trade (C.E. passcode method remains the same).
  • Mineral Mania trade now requires 3 Nickel Ore instead of 1.
  • You can now learn to craft toolkits (using some of the new scrapable items).
  • Nuclear Material has been removed from the crate container and now has a higher 30% chance of spawning (loose) within all depots.
  • You now take around 35 damage (down from 50) when breaching (this excludes falling damage) a moving ship.
  • The standard breaching pod now has 75 health (down from 100).
  • Slight increase to the crafting cost of the Pirate Bandage and Pirate First Aid.
  • De Lisle has an increased chance of causing bleeding, around 35%.

  • Improved network replication for certain NPC animations so there's less discrepancy with the client (this is to help with hit registration of headshots).

  • New separate FPS limit for the main menu and in-game under the video settings in the options menu.
  • Main menu tournament UI fades out nicely now if you have it open when you get sent to a match.

  • New De Lisle shoot animation
  • New De Lisle ADS shoot animation
  • New De Lisle reload animation
  • De Lisle walk animation play rate tweaked to better match actual move speed
  • De Lisle now has a bullet in the mag that hides if you have 0 ammo
  • Krasa has a new quicker equip animation
  • Krasa walk animation play rate tweaked to better match actual move speed
  • New Krasa reload animations
  • Krasa mag now shows no bullet in the mag if you have 0 ammo
  • Small camera shake added to Krasa reload animation (when player hand hits the mag)

  • Each item now has a discard sound that feels more relevant to the item
  • New background ambience for the Merchant Ship raid area
  • More ambient sounds added to Merchant Ship raid area
  • Improved audio occlusion on the Merchant Ship raid area
  • New weapon firing sound for the De Lisle
  • New sounds for the De Lisle bolt moving in the shoot animations
  • New sounds for the De Lisle reload
  • New sounds for the Krasa reload
  • Tweaked timing of the airlock door closing sounds so it's in sync with the animation
  • Reduced volume of voice lines
  • Now your voice when dying from lack of oxygen is based on the voice pack you have equipped e.g. German Male, French Female etc

  • Updated and fixes for Polish localisation
  • Updated and fixes for Turkish localisation

  • Intro video has been set back to the 70 years video and had its volume reduced.

    FOR 70 YEARS

  • Fixes for some network hit registration related issues
  • Fixes for crashes
  • Fixes for exploits
  • Prison guards now wear the correct cosmetic
  • Fixed skinning issue with the airlock door

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak - GBX Dave
Today, we’re releasing a new beta branch for the Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak 1.4 Update on Steam. This beta branch serves as a preview for a game update that will be released to all players next week, August 24, 2023 at 11am ET.

Why are we releasing this beta patch?

Last month, we released a similar update for Homeworld Remastered Collection that was designed, in part, to allow for cross-platform multiplayer between Steam users and Epic Games Store users. What we learned is that pushing a patch like that to all players suddenly did not create an ideal user experience: It broke mods and we also uncovered some new issues that, quite frankly, we couldn’t foresee until the public got their hands on the update.

We are making the informed decision to release a beta patch early for Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak’s 1.4 Update. This will allow users to opt-in and safely try the new update with the intention of maintaining a better user experience for all our current players.

How do I access the beta patch?

To opt into the beta patch on Steam, navigate to your Library in the Steam client and locate Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak in your game list. Right-click on Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak and select Properties. Select Betas from the left-hand menu and you will see a field to input a code. Add the code HomeworldDoK14 and select Check Code. Once the code has been verified, you can then select the beta patch through the dropdown at the top of the Betas window.

Once you’ve opted into the beta branch, your Steam client should begin downloading the game files.

What is in the beta patch?

Details of what’s in the Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak 1.4 Update is as follows:
  • Adds cross-platform online multiplayer between Steam and EGS players
  • Updates game credits to include additional departments and individuals from Gearbox and Gasket Games who contributed to the game
  • Adds a preview screen for Homeworld 3
  • Includes no gameplay or balancing changes
How long do I have to play the beta patch?

This beta patch will be available to all Steam users for one week, until August 24 at 11am ET. At this point, the 1.4 Update will be released to all Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak players on Steam.

If you encounter any issues with this beta patch, please submit a ticket to Gearbox Support.

We thank the Homeworld community for its continued support. Please stay tuned to Homeworld social channels, as well as http://homeworlduniverse.com, for more information on Homeworld 3 as we approach launch in February 2024.

Ravenswatch - MXiaa

Greetings, Ravens!

Here we are! The Experimental Beta for Shores of Storm Island is now live on Steam. This is the first time that we try a beta for new content in Ravenswatch; we’re looking forward to hearing your feedback on this work-in-progress update!

Shores of Storm Island will fully release later this summer, once we feel we gathered enough community feedback and we had the time to polish the update.

Beware that the content is not final. We are still actively working on the Shores of Storm Island update, but we feel we’ve reached a good point where we need to listen to the players to improve the overall experience of this new Chapter! This is not the official release of Shores of Storm Island, therefore if you don’t like to partake in buggy, unstable and confusing experiences (we’re selling a dream here, right?), you may want to wait a little bit longer to try the new content. Stay tuned for the release date announcement!

Summary

REACH the shores of Storm Island,

GAIN more power and talents in your journey,

DEFY the storm and the new Master Nightmare!
  • Chapter Two: Storm Island, a new map to explore
  • Defeat the new Master Nightmare
  • Fight the Cyclops to free Sinbad from his inevitable fate
  • +10 new Enemies to slay, including 1 new Mini-boss
  • +20 additional Talents for all Heroes
  • And more!

How to get access to the Experimental Beta branch

The Experimental Beta branch is open to all! You will need to complete a painless process to access it:
→ Right-click on the game’s icon in your Steam library
→ Select ‘Properties’ then choose the ‘Betas’ tab
→ Use the drop-down list and select ‘storm_island_experimental_beta’
→ Let Steam update the game
→ Launch, and have fun!

To opt-out, repeat the process but choose ‘None’ in the drop-down list. You will be brought back to the live version of the game.

Wait, you don’t have the game yet? You will need to purchase an Early Access copy of Ravenswatch on Steam to access the Experimental Beta branch for Shores of Storm Island:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2071280/Ravenswatch/

What about my save?

The Experimental Beta branch will function on a different save than your main one. A new local folder and file named ‘storm_island_experimental_beta’ will automatically be created when switching to the Beta branch, you must open the game and at least change one setting in the settings menu to make it appear. This means you will start a fresh new save on the Experimental branch and anything you do won’t be replicated onto your original save. You can also copy your current save (Profile_1.ob) and paste it into the ‘storm_island_experimental_beta’ folder if you don’t want to start fresh, but your progress on the Experimental Beta won’t be updated on the live version of the game.

⚠ We still recommend making a copy of your original save and storing it somewhere safe on your computer, just in case!

Here’s where you can find your saves:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Ravenswatch\_Save
Once the Shores of Storm Island update will be live for all, you will be automatically switched back to the main Steam branch (you can opt out of the Experimental Beta branch at any given time).

How to share your feedback?

A dedicated forum on Steam and a channel on our Discord server have been created to share your feedback on the Shores of Storm Island Experimental Beta.

Please, always specify which version of the game you’re playing while doing your reports (live or experimental beta). This will help us when sorting feedback and issues.

We will also share a feedback form in the next couple of weeks.

You are welcome to record and post videos of your experience on the Experimental Beta online, no NDAs here :)

Thank you for participating in this Experimental Beta of Shores of Storm Island! We’re beyond excited to share our progress and read your thoughts on the new additions and changes.

  • Scarlet:

+ 🐩 Reviewed Wolf Power’s (Bite) targeting so it is more precise when targeting empty spots (for escape purposes)
+ Scarlet is now instantly Intangible when triggering ‘Grandmother's Souvenir’
+ Fixed a bug where eating the last Master Nightmare tentacle with ‘In the Belly’ could result in not stun it properly
+ Fixed a bug where Scarlet’s Talent ‘Shapeshifter’ max health reduction was not counting Vitality points correctly
  • The Pied Piper:
+ 🐩 Fixed the ‘Explosive Rats’ Talent description displaying an incorrect damage value
+ 🐩 Now displays current and max number of rats over trait ability
  • Beowulf:
+ 🐩 Fixed Trait activation that was incorrectly canceled when Beowulf is stunned
+ Attack Critical Chance buff obtained when triggering Trait with ‘Blademaster’ Talent now lasts for up to 5 seconds
+ Improved ‘Crimson Fire’ explosion radius so it is wider for larger enemies
  • The Snow Queen: Complete rework detailed below:
Design Notes: We chose to make more in-depth changes to the Snow Queen after carefully taking into account the various feedback we had for her as well as our own perception of the character. Though the character was overall very appreciated, some of her core mechanics were not satisfying enough, especially at night, with the removal of most of her immediate damage. We took some time to think about the core aspects of the character, kept what was satisfying with her, and adapted the rest or even reworked some aspects so it fits better the vision of the mage/combo character we had in mind. We hope you’ll enjoy it and we are eager to hear from you about the changes!
+ Frost generated by abilities no longer behaves differently according to daytime. It now always deals damage and applies Chilled to hit enemies
+ Former Special (‘Shatter’) is now her Trait ability ‘Ice Crown’
+ Former Trait (‘Ice Skating’) is now her Defense ability and has a small intangibility window at start
+ Former Defense (‘Gust of Cold’) is transformed in her new Special ability, ‘Ice Shards’. It no longer Chills enemies nor grants intangibility but sends waves of Ice shards in a cone that deal extra damage to Chilled targets
+ Chilled effect now lasts 5 seconds (from 4) and reduces movement speed by 40% (from 50%)
+ Attack damage reduced to 18 (from 20)
+ ‘Frost Exposure’ and ‘Biting Gust’ Talents have been removed
+ 🐩 ‘Ice Clone’ Talent is no longer limited to one clone. In addition to that, destroyed or expired clones now explode to deal damage around and Chill hits enemies
+ ‘Freezing Shatter’ Quest Talent is renamed ‘Rupture’. Each step now requires only 2 targets to be shattered at once instead of 3. When complete, it no longer re-applies Chill to shattered enemies but applies Vulnerable to them instead
+ ‘Frost Queen’ Talent is now a Starting Talent (Level 1). It now makes Frost last longer on the ground (similar to the former Night Frost but without the damage removal) and makes the Chill slowing effect more potent
+ 🐩 ‘Windy Lances’ Talent is now a Standard Talent (Level 2+). Its aiming has been improved and the general behavior adjusted so it can more easily benefit from its duration reset on hit.
+ ‘Slide’ Talent now transforms the Dash Ability, making it leave a frost trail, dealing damage and chilling enemies passed
+ 🐩 Halved the duration required to build up power with the ‘Frost Surge’ Talent
+ ‘Wind Shield’ Talent is renamed ‘Ice Shield’, and now allows Defense (‘Ice Skating’) to apply a Shield on the Snow Queen and other Heroes passed during the ability
  • Aladdin:
+ ‘Slide Attack’ is now a Standard Talent and deals 400/500/600/700% Attack damage (from 300/400/500/600)
+ Fixed a bug where ‘SwordJinn’'s FX stays displayed if Aladdin is stunned while performing this Talent
+ Fixed an issue where Consumable objects from Dream shards’ wish was not interactable if spawned next to an exit or entrance of a cave
  • Melusine:
+ Fixed a bug where the sound FX of ‘Wisp Ballet’ could last after she is stunned during the channeling
+ Fixed a bug where Shield generated from ‘Protective Flow’ would not apply on Intangible Allies
  • Geppetto:
Design Notes: We adapted Geppetto’s Trait so it is more challenging to keep all three dummies active at the same time so it is more valuable to try to maintain them in life rather than just letting them die to build a new one.
+ Trait’s cooldown is now frozen when all dummies are active
+ Dummies’ attack stagger power reduced to 5 (from 10)
+ Fixed Dummies damage description not taking ATTACK damage increase into account
+ Fixed Dummies ‘Fireworks’ missiles incorrectly scaling with ATTACK damage (it still scales with general DMG)
Balancing
  • Timer:
+ Chapters are now 3 days each instead of 4
+ Design Notes: Previously, with a solo chapter to play, there were 4 cycles of day and night before the final encounter. With the addition of the second chapter, we had to adapt this so the overall playtime fits the dense and intense experience we are looking for. Games are now longer, as the two Chapters will be played over 6 cycles. It means you’ll spend less time on the first Chapter (3 cycles) that’s why we made different adjustments to smooth it up and adapt some things related to the fact that you now play on two Chapters.
Nightmare difficulties may be now more challenging because of the extra duration of the run as well as some changes that make them more potent. You may consider reducing the difficulty on your first tries to experiment with all the changes we made.
+ 🐩 The timer is now a countdown timer to 0
  • Ravens Feathers: Start with 6 Raven Feathers, 4 if playing in Nightmare 2+, 2 if playing in Nightmare 8+
  • Tentacle Master Nightmare: Chapter One Master Nightmare Base HP set to 350 (from 400)
  • Healing Orbs: In Chapter One, Healing orbs now heal 25 (from 20) or 15 in Nightmare 4+ (from 10)
  • Grimoires of Monsters: Grimoires XP rewards increased to 300/600/900 (from 300/420/540)
  • Wishing Wells: Wishing well prices increased to 150/250/350 (from 100/150/200)
  • Vision Towers / Map reveal:
+ Vision Towers and Chapter Start vision now reveal up to 4 Points of Interest (from 3)
+ Starting Vision effect now always reveals the Optional Quest location
  • Talents: Talents rarity drop rate set to 75/20/4/1 (from 60/30/9/1)
  • 🐩 Dash: DASH can now be interrupted by any Ability a very short time after it is triggered
  • Masters Nightmares: Masters Nightmares now stop dropping healing orbs after some time
  • 🐩 Priest Cultist: Healer enemies will not target other healers with their healing abilities
Fixed bugs
  • Crashes / Hangs:
+ Fixed an issue where the game would crash upon attempting to teleport right after opening the Map
+ Fixed an issue where the game would soft lock the players if you simultaneously opened the map and pressed the ‘Back’ button on a controller
  • 🐩 Same Heroes: Fixed an issue where it allowed multiple players to play as the same Hero in co-op (two Scarlets, etc.)
  • 🐩 Slopes: Fixed an issue where projectiles from the Snow Queen and the White Ladies were coming through the slopes
  • Inventory: Fixed a bug where the first Ability hovered by a mouse in the Inventory menu was not the correct one to be displayed
  • Pushback: Pushback and hit stuns were not properly replicated for peer while playing in co-op
  • Audio:
+ Fixed a bug where Scarlet’s bomb’s SFX was not replicated for peer while playing in co-op
+ Fixed a bug where Beowulf’s Talent ‘Fiery Slash’ SFX was not replicated for peer while playing in co-op

Thank you for participating in this Experimental Beta of Shores of Storm Island! We’re beyond excited to share our progress and read your thoughts on the new additions and changes.

Lost Oath - Novin
Just found some unnoticed bugs from the previous update and fixed them.

Here's the list of changes:

- Fixed player health not loading the first time someone plays the game.

- Fixed boss music bug.

- Adjusted enemy recovery time after getting hit from 0.5f to 0.8f

- Adjusted player stamina regen rate from 220 to 250

I'm planning something a bit bigger for the next update so stay tuned.

v0.4.3 Preview 1 Patch Notes
Fellow Adventurers of the Monastery:
We’re super psyched to announce that the Beta version of v0.4.3 is ready to be released. Over the past few weeks, we have done lots of organizing and optimizing based on player feedback. Also, we systematically sorted out our program and coding, which is very important for future chapter updates as well as MOD support.
At the same time, we have made adjustment on some broadly mentioned features, including sprint button and skippable dialog. To provide players a more straightforward experience, we added buttons for sprinting and assign a button to skip dialog. If you would like to skim through plot and get into combat faster, this function will be helpful. For people who prefer a more immersive playthrough, it won’t interfere with the current experience. It's worth noting that there is stamina consumption for sprinting, which is set as a method to prevent running pass all enemies.
We are still optimizing and polishing this version. If you're interested in this beta version, you can pull it up via steam's version switch. We hope you can have a try for yourselves and provide us with your valuable feedback.

New functions
1. Added skippable dialog. When talking to an NPC you can hold down Trigger to quickly skip through current dialog.

2. Press Left Stick for sprinting (can be changed by controlling the stick)

3. Sprinting accumulate your balance bar, which could be restored when you stop. When your balance bar is higher than 80%, you can’t sprint.

4. Added button support for HP Reverb G2.

Fixes
1. Readjusted gore effect, significantly reducing the performance burden when you hit an enemy.

2. Readjusted the piercing damage on certain enemies’ weak points

3. Fixed the issue of unrealistic blind spot with certain enemies’ line of sight.
