After 2 weeks of Early Access the development continues at a steady pace. Thanks again for all the support and feedback you gave! Feel free to jump into the official Discord at https://discord.com/invite/JZsQrn9HJK
I'll probably start making some polls to find out what the community wants me to implement next, since this game is made by a one person and, you (the community) are the only ones who can give feedback 😁!
As for the new languages, if you found a bug in the translations and want to contribute, feel free to talk to me. I'll give you access to the translation sheets ❤️
What's coming up next week?
Staff - It's time for some helping hands in the supermarket. I know most players play with a friend, but I have to admit that the store gets crazy after a few days and to keep expanding it's almost an impossible mission.
New Features
New Products
Here are some new products that will be unlocked early in the game.
New Furniture Category - Electricity
There's a new category under the Furniture app on the tablet. This new category will give access to lighting objects. Currently this is limited to four types of lights, but new furniture will be added in the future.
When the player starts a new save, the default is two lights. Players with older saves will need to place lights! These two default lights on the ceiling can now be sold or moved 😁.
Store Administration
Now the player is able to control when the supermarket is open or closed through the 'Administration App' or by interacting with the strange object on the wall inside the store. 🤔
Now you can move any item while the store is closed. This will help players because now they don't have to buy multiple shelves or racks to move products to those new shelves and racks. Just close the store when you want, move the object, open the store again!
Players who run a 24-hour shop will find that customer traffic is lower at night than during the day (just like in real life).
Administration App
New 'Administration App' on the tablet will be unlocked at the end of the first day (tutorial).
The app provides settings to manage the store schedule, such as opening or closing the store at any time. If the store is closed while customers are inside, it will switch to "Closing Soon" state and refuse new customers. After all customers inside have left, the store automatically switches to Closed.
In this app you will also find the running costs of the supermarket. This will provide the current rent and electricity costs. as well as future costs and expansion (future release).
Reputation
Previously, the reputation was given when the store closed every 17 hours. Since the player can now open/close the shop whenever they want, reputation is now given when customers leave the shop. Reputation is increased/decreased based on the player's happiness and also the amount of products they bought compared to the products they wanted.
Languages
New languages have been added (may contain errors):
Chinese Simplified (zh)
French (fr)
German (de)
Italian (it)
Japanese (ja)
Russian (ru)
Bug fixes
Fixed an issue with the sky that was causing players to get disconnected when they reloaded the game.
Improvements
The interface of moving objects has been updated.
The tutorial tasks have been updated to better reflect the new administration features.
Next update will take a longer time to release, currently working on story mode which will take some time to make cutscenes, the map itself as well as more enemies for the game. I promise the wait will be worth it!
Also I am going on holiday soon which will also delay it slightly not to mention university. Thanks for sticking by ːsteamthumbsupː
It's been almost 3 months since our first landing on Mars! During this time we survived many Sols, fixed a lot of bugs (thanks to your help!) and released updates, but now it's time for the Big Update!
Since the last update we touched and reworked many aspects of the game, starting from Unity engine upgrade. We will tell you more about each of the new functionalities in the next devlogs! ːsteamhappyː
The Exploration Update will come to Steam, EPIC and GOG on August 28th!
We also prepared a new trailer announcing the update! Without further ado - you can watch it here:
We wish you a fantastic weekend on the Red Planet!
Best regards, Occupy Mars Team

P.S. While waiting for the update, you can also check our previous game Rover Mechanic Simulator:
It's part of the same Occupy Mars Universe, and we have prepared a special Universe Bundle just for you:
There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight - Sunny Demeanor Games
Ahead of the Steam Visual Novel Festival running 8/7-8/14, here are some major announcements for the spy thriller interactive novel There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight:
A new free demo is available right now with the following updates: (a) contains 5 out of the 11 chapters from the full game (the previous demo had only 2 chapters), (b) the default volume sliders have been decreased from 100% to 50% so the sound should be at a reasonable volume with the ability to turn it up if you find it too soft, (c) more tracks and better-fitting music used in the pre-existing chapters (and added new music for the new chapters, of course). This new demo covering five chapters will remain up indefinitely (at least through the October Steam Next Fest) and is not limited to the one-week Visual Novel Festival
A new release date trailer has been added to the game's Steam page showing off more of the story and what you'll do in the game, including a glimpse of something NOT in the newly-released demo. The new trailer has also been added to the company YouTube page.
March 15, 2024 selected as the release date for There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight. The game's main antagonist is someone named Brutus, so definitely fitting that players should beware the Ides of March (3/15). Plus, one of the many reference points for the game is Mission: Impossible, and the climactic scene on the train in the first Mission: Impossible film is referred to in-movie as "Job 3:15" (after most of the film centers around something known as "Job 3:14")
The end slate for the new trailer also announces that the game's Kickstarter will launch on October 9, 2023. I will write a separate news piece about the specific Kickstarter reward tiers, but for now, you can sign up to be notified for free when the Kickstarter launches right here. And you can see info about what Kickstarter-exclusive rewards there will be like getting your name in the credits or getting the game up to two weeks early in this previous Steam announcement post
