We're back with another new update and you're in for a treat in this one!

Before we dive into all the juicy details, we'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who's been testing the new objects in the BETA. Thanks to all your amazing feedback, they have been added to the main branch for everyone to enjoy.

We know some of you are curious about why our updates are taking longer than usual. As we mentioned last week, we want to be able to test out new features a bit more before releasing them, and, therefore, updates will come every 3 weeks instead of our usual 2. You will however be given the chance to try out incoming features one week in advance on the Public Beta Branch. That way, we can collect your feedback and fine-tune the new features as precisely as we can.

Now let’s jump into the update. Another big change to the game is the Super Black Market, we understand that some of you have not understood our idea about it but no worries we hear you and we have received your feedback.


We understand that the upgrades seem underwhelming and some of them are very expensive while the benefit of them doesn’t feel worth it. To give you some context the goal from the super black market was always to be somewhat of sandbox mode where you can fully break the limits of the game and have a relaxing run while allowing you to spend your leftover gold nuggets. We get that we might have been too shy with its perks. So, we have changed the bonuses, it will get wild really quick, as you’ll see and we hope you’ll enjoy it.

We also still believe that achievements should remain something challenging for players and only achievable by those who want to work for them. The Super black market will still limit your ability to get achievements but I am sure you all can do it!

By the way, we’re also resetting the leaderboard after every update from now on. This is your opportunity to start fresh and show off your skills in the game to earn your spot on the leaderboard.

One last thing before you go, we have added a new tab on the Encyclopedia for upgrades, this should help you develop a better understanding of the game.

  • Fan of Knives :When you stand still, for every 2 shots, you charge up 1 knives (up to a maximum of 15). When you move, you release all knives aiming at as many enemies.

  • Sharing is caring :Instead of aiming at the closest enemy, you alternate between the 5 closest enemies. Your projectiles are 50% slower but your attack speed is increased by 50%.

Spirit of the Island - Necessary
Hello, friends!

It’s due time for a short progress update on Spirit of the Island development!

As you know, we are actively working on a cross platform release for Spirit on the Island between PC and consoles. But there’s another platform where the game will be released as well… Mobile!

Here is a little sneak peek to the mobile version of the game:

Soon we will share a dev-diary with Kukuchi, our Lead Developer and Studio Head, where he will reveal more details and insides about the upcoming updates and releases.

We also have some exciting news for people who own an Xbox: XBOX Demo Fest is happening today, so everyone who has an Xbox console will be able to try it first!

Last, but not least, the “Adventureland” DLC is coming soon! In Adventureland, you will be able to build your own amusement park and delight your tourists even more.

Our last Early Access update is here, 30% off!

At last, we are now ready with an extensive content update!
The game is pretty well finished. We have added quests and narrative, and even voice-over. We have adjusted and balanced the gameplay to give a better feel and make it more fun. We’ve made dramatic changes to the core game loop. We’ve even added Steam achievements!

Fair warning: With all these changes, the old save games will be incompatible and obsolete. Please start a new game for an optimal experience.

This is likely the final content update before launch. From now on, we will focus on fixing any remaining bugs and a bit of polish here and there.

✨ New Features
  • We are so eager to share the full story with you! The main story has been improved and we have added voiceovers from our awesome voice actors. Each of the characters you find on the island now has their own side quest/storyline bringing out their wonderful personalities.
    • All new main and side quests have been added to the game



  • The Bloombox!
    We are giving you the freedom to choose your music! Well, you have to work for it. First, you need to craft a boombox, like an old gramophone. Then you need to explore the island and craft the discs you receive as rewards for building work orders. Each disk represents a different character, creature, or place. You can place the Bloombox wherever you like and play your favorite songs as you collect them.



  • Our new Day / Night system, the Cloud Cycle, traps players in an endless night until they sleep. As you might recall, mutated plants roam when the island is shrouded. So use this time to combat the mutated plants and gather their seeds to craft plants for your beautiful garden.
    You can always go to sleep in your bed and skip the night, and as a new day begins we now display your progress in the Daily summary screen. Here you can see how many Ribbits you earned that day amongst many other things!




  • Is your thumb getting tired from picking up resources? Well, say hello to auto-pickup! Resources dropped from monsters and resource nodes now automatically pull toward you and are added to your inventory. It’s magic! ✨



  • We have done a complete visual pass on the island! Ikonei's colors should "pop" more, with improved lighting and foliage.













  • Voice acting has been added! English and Norwegian audio is available.
    • Multiple text languages have been added as well: English, Norwegian, German, Spanish, French, and Simplified Chinese.
  • Even your creatures are more talkative! They will now respond to your command, letting you know if they are willing to help out or not.
    • As the darkness creeps in your creatures will also get tired - go to sleep, and they will be back in action!
    • We also give you more freedom. You can bond and be one with your friend at level one!
  • A new unlockable island has emerged for players to explore (not showing this one to not spoil the fun!)
  • The island can be rebuilt further! New construction altars have arisen that offer crafting recipes.
    • There have been balance passes on all construction altars and shrines.
  • Crafting Recipes are now unlocked at Construction Altars and can be bought in shops.
  • Regions are now discovered by placing frogs on pedestals rather than fixing the shrines.
  • Tilling the ground will no longer work in rainy regions.
    • Players must first activate a nearby shrine to farm.
  • Pirates no longer dance when the region is rainy.
    • Players must first activate a nearby shrine to progress through a Pirate Camp.
  • And there is much more for players to discover!

⚠️ Important Notice

Old save files will break after updating the game. This means that players who have played Ikonei Island before this update will have to start a new game.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately, we were unable to guarantee old save files would still be functional.
