Deep Rock Galactic - Mekill (DRG Dev)


Hi Miners,
Today we gather to bid a heartfelt farewell to Troels Rodhe Jørgensen, the sound designer of Deep Rock Galactic, who has decided to embark on a new chapter in his career. Troels was one of the first hires for Ghost Ship Games more than 6 years ago and his mark on the game should not be underestimated!



From the moment you step foot into Deep Rock Galactic's cavernous depths, you're immediately engulfed in a rich tapestry of sound that transports you to an alien world. This immersive soundscape is the result of Troels’ meticulous craftsmanship as sound designer.
Troels has truly breathed life into the game's vast underground environments, ingeniously combining natural cave acoustics with futuristic technology. The clinking of mining tools, echoing footsteps, and the distant sound of an approaching swarm of glyphids form a symphony of sound that adds a remarkable layer of immersion to the gameplay experience. Troels' ability to strike the perfect balance between atmospheric ambiance and intense action sequences is nothing short of genius.

Troels has furthermore masterfully produced the epic synth soundtrack that Sophus Alf has composed for DRG. The soundtrack carries an unmistakable signature, blending futuristic synths with soaring orchestral arrangements. Troels' keen understanding of the game's industrial sci-fi setting and the gameplay dynamics shines through in the production, as it seamlessly transitions from moments of tension and suspense to triumphant crescendos - making the gaming experience truly unforgettable.



As a final salute from Troels, I present you with JOURNEY OF THE PROSPECTOR. This track started as a simple idea, where I wanted to see if we could make a DRG song with Banjo! The idea was to get some classic gold miner vibe going in a synth track. The sketch for this was left unused for a long time, but after Troels announced his departure from Ghost Ship, Troels and I planned to turn it into a song worthy of the soundtrack of DRG. A swansong from Troels if you will. The track will be added to Vol. 2 of the soundtrack on Steam in the coming days (Spotify later) and in-game aswell with the release of Season 4.

Pixel Piracy - Vitali Kirpu
Hey Guys!

I have some news for everyone.

First, to recap what has happened so far.

Starting this year, I have begun working on Pixel Piracy at around 20-30% workload capacity by improving Pixel Piracy and adding some new content; this commitment was until 1.6.2023.

Then last week, I said that I would be working on Pixel Piracy at around the same capacity until 31.12.2023, and this is what I am doing now, and my goal is to release a significant feature soon, which will transition Pixel Piracy to the 1.3.0 Version; this feature will drop after the Summer holidays (month or two).

People wanted something big now VS Friday Updates so that I will cater to that request for 1.3.0. The reason i set dates in the first place is not to set false expectations; I created a roadmap rev1 previously, but it did not work because of the human limits of me just beginning one dev. I'm sure that in 2024 if the community wants me to work on the PP, i will find time.

PP as a game can be expanded infinitely, so in a sense; it doesn't matter how long i will work on the game; it will never be ready. It's a good thing because I can theoretically work on this as long as there are players.

I also did one supporter DLC called Shrimp Legacy and Coffee thing for people who wanted to support me; I thought it was an excellent middle ground, but beyond that, I don't see doing Pixel Piracy DLCs; it's more valuable to work on the base game and just bring value there for you the player. Friday Updates works just fine for me.

Current Situation...

I have determined that the best way for Pixel Piracy and me as a dev to succeed is to focus on my two games (PP & IAH) marketing aspect. I haven't talked with the community about my main project IAH, but today i am changing that.

My main project is IAH: INTERNET WAR, which is Roguelite RTS set in the Internet Setting that focuses on tactical battles, trying to add more life to the RTS genre; I do that game at around 70-80% capacity, and I intend to use the functionality of that game to help Pixel Piracy find more players.

IAH: INTERNET WAR will appear on a few Festivals this year on Steam, and people will try IAH Demo. The catch is when someone plays IAH Full Version or Demo; they will be exposed to Pixel Piracy.




My call to action to the community is that if you want to help Pixel Piracy and support me, I humbly ask you to just wishlist IAH: INTERNET WAR; it's that simple; you click the wishlist button. Wishlists will elevate IAH higher, and more people will try it, and in turn, more people will see Pixel Piracy. And if you like the concept, follow the game on Steam so you don't miss news developments on that project.

  • Fixed issue with resolution in windowed sometimes displaying incorrectly

Genesis of a Small God - Pierre Nury
Greetings, aspiring deities and divine enthusiasts!

I am thrilled to invite you to the open playtest #2 of Genesis of a Small God. This event will run for a week starting on June 9th, providing you with an access to my lastest build of the game.

If you already tried the demo/previous playtest, I encourage you to try from scratch and reset the game in the options menu before trying this playtest,


🌟 Main differences with the previous playtest:
  • New Random Events: I added a dozen new events type and increased the number of events to 2 per season (customizable in option menu). These unpredictable occurrences will challenge your decision-making skills and add thrilling twists to your divine journey.
  • Reworked Tutorial: I understand the importance of a solid foundation in mastering the art of godliness. Based on feedback on the previous playtest i reowrk the tutorial to be less disruptive while providing the necessary information at the beginning.
  • Bug Fixes: I worked, addressing pesky bugs and technical issues reported during previous playtest. Probably introduce a few new ones, and i am compting on you to notify me of any issue you may faced.

I am looking for your valuable feedback to improve the game. Are there any cool powers you think could be interesting to add? Or new types of events to challenge the player? And yes I know everyone wants the big monster to educate like in black and white but it's not easy to make ;)
Additionally, I would appreciate your input on whether you think the game is ready for early access.
