Pickaxe: You will buy it off a new NPC that sells pickaxes for 1$ Coal: mine coal rocks underground to get coal Coal Pack: craftable by 2 coals Train Fix Kit: 2x coal packs, 1x screws, 1x oil - not hard to get
How to escape via train?
1) fix it 2) it will start moving with a big cho-cho sound that everyone on the map will hear 3) guards will try to come to knock you all out and stop the train - if guards stop the train you can just interact with it to resume it, no need to fix it again 4) when the train reaches the finish line, everyone around it will escape with it currently, I plan so the train will take 90 seconds to reach the end.
New
New Floor - Train Rails - You can fix a train and start it - will take 90 seconds to arrive at the escape point.
Pistol - Currently only available in the lobby, will be added to the game soon.
Advanced Knocked-out system - You will be sent to the infirmary instead of getting up(prisoners will be sent to their cells at night).
Item - Segway for guards - you can buy it from the guard shop, hard to control but fast.
Map UI marking - now when you open the map you can see many markings on it - escape points, doors, fences, and much more!
Hitboxes - now you can hit players in the head, body, legs, and arms instead of the general hitbox which was inaccurate.
Rlayers can revive knocked-out players from their same role.
Mini map for all floors of the prison - not just the main one!
NPC in the train rails floor - you can buy from him a pickaxe and a pistol.
Item - Pickaxe - use it to mine coal rocks on the train rails floor.
Item - Coal and Coal Pack - a pack is craftable from 2 coals.
Item - Train Fix Kit - use it to fix the train on the new floor.
Added Crouching - Press X to toggle crouching
Added Leaning - hold control+Q or control+E to lean left or right
Now the X axis of the looking direction of players are synced, so for example, if they look up, their character will look up on other people's screen.
System that allows you to have smooth combat with guns(currently only pistols).
Now new custom maps will need an infirmary point to mark where the knocked-out players will be sent(for maps without an infirmary point, they will teleport to their start position).

Folks, yesterday marked exactly 1 year since the release of Fabled Lands! What a ride it was! With over 25 000 units sold and a score of 8.1/10 from 360 reviews, the game made it possible for me to experience the dream of being a full-time indie game developer. It is the reason I made lots of connections with lots of amazing people across the globe, both fans of the books and new fans alike.
Thank you for being on this journey with me!
Special thanks to the authors Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson who put their trust in Prime Games' capability to deliver FL to the modern audience as well as to preserve its spirit and brutality that won the hearts of the old fans, thus cementing its legacy in the ether of PC games.
You can check some of the very first concept arts and drafts the talented Bernar Aganchyan did that defined the look of the game way, way back in 2019:
Here's how that very first screen of combat looks like in the game today:
You can also read the blog post of how I discovered the FL gamebooks to begin with, and took a flight to London to show Dave and Jamie the first game prototype that helped me win them over and sign a contract: https://www.primegames.bg/en/blog/big-announcement
I am wrapping up controller support for Steam next week, and I'll start testing with people from the community. Drop a comment if you like playing games with your controller and you'd want to hop on the beta branch to tell me if it works!
Next in line will be the Switch release. The devkit from Nintendo Europe has already arrived, so the only thing left for me to do is work, work, work! :)
As always don't forget to wishlist the game to stay up to date with the latest news and updates:
A mini-concert by Laura Shigihara, who sings the theme songs for "Meg's Monster" and "Deltarune," will be held on Twitch on May 27th at 19:00 (PDT). The "Meg's Monster X RAKUEN" bundle will be available for a limited time!
