Happy to report this month the team has made huge progress on all the new content for the next update and soon all that will be left to do is polish and playtest! ✨

So, without further ado, here is our progress report -


Welcome to the Coral Archipelago! 🌊
The next world is here! The islands are waiting for you to cross them and meet the marine fauna! But be careful, this world is the home of the dangerous Noble Zodiacs, fierce enemies that will never allow you to pass without an intense fight!

The Pantheon and Ayla figure 💫
The Pantheon is a new place accessible from the main hub of the game. When used, the floating orb will teleport you into a place where we immortalized some of our backers as golden statues.

We initially wanted to have these statues randomly spawning at the merchant's room but this way anyone can witness them directly from the main hub. If you also want to have a statue of yourself (it can be with your pet) and your name appears when standing next to the statue, you can still order it on our Backerkit store.



We also have great news regarding the Ayla figure (also available on the Backerkit store), Limited Run Games manufacturer produced an example version that suits our vision and we really love it - we hope you will like it as much as we do!



Kinship system🤝
A completely new system has been added to the game, the kinship system!

In your runs, you will now have access to a new special room inside wich you'll get a new kind of item: the souvenirs.

Souvenirs will grant you the power of one (or more) of your friend(s) from the Garden! Each character has their own unique power that will surely help you through your journey!

The intent of this system was to make the characters you meet and love a bigger part of your escape attempts and feel a deeper connection to them when they join your adventure!

Another accomplishment from this month was the rework of several of our Zodiac summons!

Most of the old summon either didn't fit the zodiac or were lacking in juice! So we decided to rework most of them to become truly impressive attacks!

New spells - the Zodiacs spells ♐
We added a new kind of spell to the game, the Zodiac spells! They'll give you the ability to use some of the zodiacs signature attacks as your own.

Don't expect to find them like others spells! They will only be accessible in a special place, but we'll let you find out for yourselves.

The door to the interior of the Andromeda's bar is now open, in here you'll be able to meet the zodiacs and talk with them in a peaceful environment.

Get insight about the world by the mouth of your enemies, learn more about them and if you're lucky, they might even join you directly in your journey!

Discord new emotes! Join us! ✨
We also did something for our lovely discord community. New Astral Ascent emotes have been added to the server for you to express yourself there or on any other place if you have Discord Nitro!

Dear Bakers,

We have not forgotten about you!
We are sorry you had to wait a long time for this update, we understand your bitterness.
Like always we wanted to make sure that patch does not bring new issues, so we had to test it thoroughly. Therefore, now we are proud to present you the latest update to our game!
We hope you will like our new delivery system!



Before you start playing the newest version of the game, we highly recommend resetting your profiles for maximum benefits from the patch, due to the game's save system structure. Otherwise, we do not guarantee the correct running of the game, due to interference in the game system.
Warning! After resetting your profile, you will lose all progress and have to start over.



Patch 1.3.4

Changes:
- Change in the tutorial: improved steps requiring the use of PLUCK and TRASH CAN, changed the amount of recognized bad ingredient in the bowl to 1g from 5g.
- Change in mechanics: Courier. Courier available from the completion of the tutorial. Swapping the courier unlocking perk for a discount for deliveries. Basic courier costs change from 10% of the cost of the order to 5%. The first upgrade - 3% of the cost of the order. The second upgrade - 2% of the cost of the order.
- Change in mechanics: time for deliveries. Expanding the delivery times x2 to avoid time pressure.
- Changed the amount of money when starting the game from 5000 to 1000.
- Change in the driving mechanics, new driving system has been implemented for both small car and truck, changing the driving aspect into more arcade-like.
- Changed the camera angle in the City to top view. It is possible to adjust the field of view by scrolling the scroll of the mouse up or down.
- Changed delivery points markers to make the more visible.
- Muffins: small and large forms can be thrown from the tray straight into the trash can.
- Change in mechanics: muffins. Added LMB hold option to streamline the addition of muffin papers to trays and pouring mass in one fell swoop.
- Machine improvements: Improved Rounder Divider performance.
Save system: Removed crashes that could cause progress to be removed.

Fixes:
- Fixed bigger performance issues on the City level, the level should run smoothly on the recommended setup even with graphic settings set to „very high”.
- Fixed issues with FPS loss, providing more stability on all tiers of bakery and City level.
- Fixed texture and lighting issues in certain districts of the City level.
- Fixed game crashes on deliveries.
- Fix for loss of input on USB devices.
- Fix: The trigger on the red tray in the rounder divider is too small.
- Fix: The bowl from the large mixer does not respond to the reset of the position.
- Fix: After the reset of the position, the largest bowl on the cart does not detach from the player. Also added resetting the position to the default.
- Fix: Fixed problem with disappearing slots on tables.

Lakeburg Legacies - ZeddOTak
Hello, Rulers!

This month, we’re very happy to welcome a new person into the team! Louis, our new Game Designer Intern, is going to assist Chloé (Game Designer) and Matthieu (Creative Director) for four months.

Of course, the team’s focus was mostly on the Closed Beta we launched at the beginning of the month (including hunting down nasty bugs 🐛 and exchanging with the beta testers), so we’ve had less time to work on our next big features. But we still have some novelties to share with you!

Launch of the Closed Beta!

The main highlight of the past month has been the launch of our very first Closed Beta! Indeed, it was the first time players outside of Ishtar Games were able to play the game. Louis has joined us right before the Beta started, and so far has been of great help in gathering and analyzing player feedbacks.

It was pretty interesting to watch players discovering the game and exchanging tactics and tips with each other. Some of them even reached the 100-year milestone, and with it the first version of the game’s victory screen! 🏆 Of course, it is a very early version and will change a lot by the time the game is released.



Service Gauges

Service Gauges (Health, Protection, Faith, Entertainment) give information about the town’s overall condition. They can give out temporary negative traits to villagers: the lower the gauge, the more devastating the consequences!

The Health gauge, for example, can make the inhabitants of Lakeburg catch a cold 🤒, but also diseases a tad more dangerous, such as the plague. ☠ It is thus extremely important to maintain it as high as possible!

Justine has illustrated the different traits that the gauges can distribute, while Chloé has worked on balancing them so the village doesn’t suddenly perish from a cholera outbreak.



Locked slots interface

When he was not investigating random issues (such as “why do gray-haired villagers make the game block?”), Simon was working on something we were eager to have for quite a while: displaying the cost of unlocked worker slots directly in their interface, rather than in a tooltip. Indeed, hovering every slot to discover how much they cost was a hassle. It became especially true after we added the possibility to use Builder Tickets to decrease the cost of unlocking slots.

This may seem to be a small improvement, but it makes playing the game much more enjoyable!



New Event backgrounds

Manon has taken a break from working on interfaces in order to create new stunning backgrounds for the locations where game events take place. From telling stories in the kids’ bedchamber to enjoying a romantic walk in a peaceful forest at night, our villagers can now bond (or sow drama and discord 👿) in new locations.





Pick-up lines!

With Tindra, the town’s local matchmaker, players can browse through the profiles of potential suitors to find the best match for their villager. In order to give them more personality, Ambrune has spent hours doing some very serious and extensive research on the art of pick-up lines. Thanks to her, potential suitors now introduce themselves with dozens of cheesy pick-up lines (we privately call them “disquettes”)! She also made sure that the ones she selected or adapted weren’t sexist or related to harassment, and were instead funny or absurd.

In addition to a background, each building is represented by a unique icon. Justine beautifully illustrated the ones we were missing, as you can discover below!
