Terraria - Loki ISP

Greetings Terrarians!

You know what they say... April showers bring Terraria news! Or something like that anyway. It is quite an exciting time in the world of Terraria right now, with all sorts of fantastic news happening as we speak - and with plenty more to come as the year moves on. Let's not waste any more time and instead spring right into the latest and greatest surrounding all things Terraria!

TERRARIA - LABOR OF LOVE UPDATE

The team has made a ton of progress on the Labor of Love update over the past month - and the finish line is in sight. Recently, we have been conducting a huge playthrough with the entire team alongside our trusty playtesters. What are we testing you ask? Well, it's a combination of all of the new stuff we added... and we are playing it on a brand new world seed that is unlike anything Terraria has seen before! What will await you in this new adventure? You will have to wait and see on that, I'm afraid. In the meantime, enjoy some Fart Kart...

Hey, quit crapping around! We have work to do!!

Want some more tidbits? Ok then fine...

So, we heard you all might like some Coral Furniture - something to really bring the beach home to your base. Feast your eyes on this!

Who doesn't love a good World Seed, right? And traps, everyone hates traps right? This one will totally scratch that itch for all you trap-haters out there.

What else does Labor of Love have in store? When will it arrive? Well, you will have to stay tuned to find out!

STEAM WORKSHOP NEWS

Click the banner above to check out the Terraria Workshop!

The level of quality and quantity on the Terraria Steam Workshop keeps on growing and growing - with over 53,000 packs and worlds so far, you are missing out if you haven't taken the time to check out the Workshop yet. What are you waiting for?!

WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON?

Pretty much we are all-in on Labor of Love... though there are other things in the works to help us continue to prepare for our second project.

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone!

We have some definite progress this month that you will want to check out - tML will be doing monthly previews starting in April... and an update on tML 1.4 timing. Want all of the details? Read on!

April has been a big month for tML and it's looking like May will be an even bigger month. Some major mods have started the port to tML 1.4, and they have provided valuable feedback in the process. We'll start May with a focus on a built-in mod porting tool, tModPorter (thanks to Chik3r and Tomat from the community!), which will automate small code changes which have to be made in thousands of places, reducing the amount of manual effort required from modders. We ask modders to keep an eye on tML development, come chat with us in the Discord, and start porting their mods to 1.4 to be ready for when tML 1.4 launches!

As always, you can keep track the current progress and such more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)

Developers who are willing to contribute may do so by doing PRs to the tModLoader/tModLoader branch. (See tModLoader/tModLoader)

PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS

CONSOLE/SWITCH/MOBILE CONTENT PARITY TO 1.4.3 REMAINS THE FOCUS

Parity at last! Well at least for a little while...

That's right Console Terrarians, in case you missed it, the 1.4.1 - 1.4.3 updates went live for Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch yesterday! So, at least until Labor of Love comes out, all Terrarians are at parity in terms of the core content of the game. Want to learn more about what all is included in this latest Terraria update? Click the banner below to head over to the official launch thread to get all of the juicy details!

Not to be outdone, Mobile Terrarians also received the 1.4.1 - 1.4.3 update yesterday! That's right, after yesterday's events, all actively-developed platforms of Terraria are on the same content version. This has only happened once for a VERY brief time (and to be fair, Labor of Love will break it again until we can catch back up), so this is certainly a momentous occasion. Of course, once Labor of Love is out, we will begin the work to get everyone back to parity as quickly as possible.

This update also comes with official support for Mouse and Keyboard on Mobile - in case you missed that last month.

Rest assured that once Labor of Love is out, the team at DR Studios will be hard at work to once again restore parity to the world of Terraria!

Project Genesis Playtest - Noel8CS

INTRODUCTION

Hi - I’m Noel from 8 Circuit Studios, and I’m looking forward to introducing you to the Project Genesis Pre-Alpha Kepler milestone.

In this milestone, we are introducing significant improvements and modifications based on your feedback and input, ramping up your experience in-game and injecting substantial changes to the visual and functional aspects of gameplay.

NEW THROWABLES + LETHAL & TACTICAL SLOTS

In the Jupiter pre-alpha milestone update, five new throwables were introduced, shifting the tactical meta in-game. With more ways to outsmart and outplay your opponents, we have been impressed with the incredibly creative ways you have developed to dominate your adversaries, but in the Kepler pre-alpha milestone update, we’re adding even more tools to your throwable arsenal.

In Kepler, you’ll have access to two new throwables: a gas grenade which emits a toxic vapor that deals damage to opponents caught in the fumes, and a decoy grenade that sets off visual and audio queues designed to distract and disorientate your opponents.

In addition to the two new throwables, we have now added an additional throwable slot to your Avatar loadouts, allowing you to bring one lethal and one tactical throwable into combat. Let the theory crafting begin!

NEW SHIP TARGETING

In response to incredible feedback from our community and Test Pilots, Kepler introduces refinement to the battle craft weapon targeting system. This new targeting system will make acquiring your enemy’s battle craft more accurate, allowing you to crank up the damage with more precision and lethal aim.

Additionally, the new targeting system also introduces significantly greater feedback when aiming, providing you critical information for target lock line of sight, acquire time, lock angle, and max distance. You’ll also receive audio queues to notify you when you’ve acquired a target, empowering you with intelligence to emerge from your dogfight victorious.

SHIP MOVEMENT
In Jupiter, we introduced a secondary movement option (auto-orientation) for your battle craft controls, and in Kepler, we’ve refined overall ship movement to allow you to flank enemies and dodge incoming damage more effectively. You’ll now be able to navigate vertically with significantly increased speed, aligning the battle craft horizontal movement speed with the vertical movement.

If you’ve been in-game since the Jupiter milestone, you likely have experienced a disorienting effect when impacting asteroids or other environmental objects. In Kepler, you’ll notice a significant reduction in camera collision if you do manage to sideswipe one of the terrain features, as well as a faster reorientation to get you back into the action.

UI DPI SCALING SUPPORTING 4K
Use a 4K or ultrawide monitor? You’re in luck because in Kepler, we’ve added support for both, allowing the in-game UI to scale appropriately, regardless of the monitor you have at your battle station.

INTERIOR MAP UPDATES

Test Pilot feedback has improved map and level design across several of the interior environments, with the goal of increasing the significance of actions you take in-game during matches.

Additional routes to the bombsite have been implemented in the Onslaught game mode, giving you extra resources to strategize and wargame your way to victory, while refinements within other interior environments have been added to improve interactions and counterplay in-game.

LIMITED AMMO
In preparation for a wide variety of new abilities coming to Project Genesis in the near future, a major change in ammo allocations is being introduced in Kepler. Avatar weapon ammo now features a limited ammo count, making shots on target more critical than ever.

Each time you spawn as an Avatar, you will now notice that in addition to the ammo count in your magazine, you also have a reserve ammo allocation. When you run out of your total ammo, or when you’re running low, you’ll have to find an ammo drop from another player that has died in the lobby.

AVATAR HOMOGENIZATION
Throughout our milestones you have seen us test playable cosmetic progression unlocks and unique classes for Avatars. In Kepler, we are turning design upside down as we begin to prepare and implement a robust abilities system that introduces buffet-style ability outfitting.

You’ll now notice in-game that all Avatars are equal in scale, movement velocity, and weapons, as we level the playing field and set the stage for Passive, Active, and Ultimate abilities. This abilities system is designed to not only amp up your overall gameplay experience, but also to give you the power to customize your experience in-game in a way that is tailored to your playstyle as you dominate the competition!

AVATAR ABILITIES SYSTEM

With Avatar classes being transitioned to the homogenized style just mentioned, the first iteration of the Avatar abilities system has been implemented in Kepler, introducing several dynamic abilities to take your gameplay strategy to the next level.

With ammo being now limited in Kepler, you now can outfit your Avatar with an ammo crate that you can deploy on the battlefield to aid both you and your allies. Deployable cover, Heal Repair, and Turret Drones, previously limited to specific Avatar classes in Jupiter, now are available for all Avatars and provide valuable assets for you and your team as you assault the enemy objectives.

One of the most game-changing abilities being introduced in Kepler is the Tactical Insert. This Avatar ability revolutionizes gameplay as you’ve known it, now allowing you to deploy a beacon within the interior environments that you can utilize to respawn to that exact location, inserting you behind enemy lines.

We can’t wait to see how you transform these and many other abilities into tactical and strategic plans to give you an edge over your competition!

IN CONCLUSION

We are grateful for your continued support of Project Genesis and the valuable contributions that each of you have made to the development of the game. Let us know what you think of the additions in this milestone update!

Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef - Jaco
Listen up ya gitz!

Let’s start off with important news regarding the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef release date.

Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef won’t be making the initial Summer release window, and we’re moving the launch to Fall 2022.

This decision wasn’t taken lightly, but will be in the best interest for the quality of the game. By taking on the Warhammer IP, we’ve also taken on the responsibility to deliver the best game we possibly can that both Rogueside and Games Workshop can be proud of. And with these couple of extra months we will be able to put more love and passion into the project, and take it to the level we want it to be.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on Luteus Alpha in Fall 2022!

On to our second announcement.

We are so excited to announce our partnership with ININ Games, who will aid us with the physical release of Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef on consoles!

The past weeks, even months, we’ve seen a lot of people asking about our retail plans, and now we can reveal them. Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef will be available for pre-order at select retailers for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 soon, powered by ININ Games. Even more exclusive editions with special collectible items will be available at Strictly Limited Games and Gamesrocket.

Thank you for your continued support! More information on the release will be coming soon.
