Update #284 returns to ship combat meta to add new options for building our your specific strategy as well as improving well-known routes. Adding 4 new ship components that boost the Radiation or Void damage of your ship weaponry opens up an avenue for high focus on disabling enemy ships while buffing the ability of armored components of all types to soak up damage to your ship further empowers the heavily armored meta. To help in both cases, we've made the combat logs clearer, better organized and added missing lines of detail.
For a different flavor of Trese Brothers sci-fi, check out Cyber Knights!
Update #284 has added 4 new medium slot components which increase the Void or Radiation Damage of your capital ship weapons. These Quturaan and Katteduun Phase Inflectors can only super-charge one type of damage or the other, so focusing on a certain class of ship weapons will be important to make the most of your bonuses. Captains focusing on pulverizing a ship and crew into submission with Void and Radiation Damage now have all new angle to customize their ship. The most powerful Phase Inflectors are sold exclusively by Rychart (Void) and Thulun (Radiation) starports,
To help with the new components and bonuses, the ship combat log now reports Void and Radiation Damage to a ship on a separate line.
Advanced Armor Protection
Armored components have always helped reduce overall Standard Damage that is passed through to your Hull and then turned into internal damage to turn your components into ash. With Update #284, they have gained a new intrinsic way to help prevent destruction to your ship's components even after all the dice have been rolled.
Once all the damage is totaled, components from your ship are selected in a series of rounds to take portions of that damage. All types of components that are designed to provide additional protection (even not those explicitly armor) are now more likely to be selected to "soak up" the damage and protect other components from taking it. In a large ship with only one or two armored components, this effect may be pretty minor, but as you increase your set of armored components this balance change will come into play more readily.
Specifically:
Exploration Seals, Orbital Platings, Orbital Sealing increase their chance of getting hit by 20%.
Armored Bulkheads, Hull Plating, Reinforced Structures and Battle Prows increase their chance of getting hit by 35%.
While this can help protect other key components -- such as Piloting modules, ship weapons and the engine -- it can also help more rapidly reduce a ship's armor as the armor components take damage and drop offline. If a ship is built with redundant Armor %, this double-edged sword effect will be prevented from taking effect longer.
Improved Combat Logs
The ship combat logs now include the Radiation and Void Damage of both capital ship and small craft. This key missing piece of intel is key for disabling captains to understand how their hits are hitting! We've also adjusted the spacing and lead in on most of the log lines to make them more clear and stand out from each other -- such as using (T) for Talent and (!!) for a Crippling Effect which now both really jump out in a busy logged turn.
There are some more exciting meta changes coming for ship combat and improving strategy options, so stay tuned and we will be upgrading the combat log hand in hand as we go.

In early access before we have built up a big player base, we want to give you the fixes ASAP. This means that sometimes our fixes might cause new issues, or not be fixed for all users. Please bear with us, and be sure to let us know.
We're so glad for the positive reception we've been getting. We're launching a small update to fix some things we thought should improve. Here are the main ones:
- Changed puzzle 1 in Cave 2-3 map. It was buggy and a little frustrating for a lot of players. The new one should be more stable and exciting. - Made a couple of tweaks in battles that were still a little too difficult. - Now the player can't pick up life healing fruits while on full health. - Fixed a bug that rendered a save slot broken when you finished the game.

Castes
Creatures: Nerf Despite the first nerf, our beloved creatures are still rampant in the Lands of Noara. To preserve the balance of the ecosystem, we must crack down again!

Stronghold Skills
The Offensive Horn: Nerf Even if we like the mechanics, the horn is very / too advantageous for the team that owns it. So we're going to think about the best way to offer it to you. In the meantime, it becomes a "legendary" stronghold skill.
Catapult Shot: Nerf We are not happy with Catapult Shot. This stronghold skill rewards the team too much for using it, even though it costs nothing and requires no skill. We will change this skill in general terms in the future. In the meantime, we will settle for a simple nerf: The ability becomes a "legendary" Bastion skill.
Ballista Shot: Nerve We no longer want this skill to be usable against the opposing stronghold.
Items
Armoured Boots made of sarme: Up Velocity: +1 -> +3
Gameplay
It is no longer possible to "redistribute" bastion items and skills during management turns. We will reinstate this feature when we have made the changes we want to make to it.

Well maybe it's not so much of a surprise if you've been following our social media for the last 2 weeks...
Anyway, this time around we're stoked to introduce weapons, skills and skins from some fellow indie studios, who kindly let us add a little taste of their games to Dead Cells!
How do you get this free stuff?
You'll find a book of clues in the opening area - figure out the riddles within and complete the challenges to unlock fresh outfits!
You'll also find lore rooms dotted around the place, hiding bizarre and powerful weapons from other worlds...
If you want the full details of everything right now then check out the patchnotes and the little summary below, if you want to keep some mystery then download the update and get into it!
Hollow Knight
The Knight was a bit too shy to show themself, so you won't be seeing them running around the island, but their trusty nail is here :)
The Pure Nail can attack upward and downward. Attacking downward while airborne causes you to bounce on your enemies, dealing critical damage.
Hyper Light Drifter
Laser guns are finally in the game! The Drifter wields their trusty energy sword/gun combo, ready to wordlessly slay more monsters.
The Hyper Light Gun marks its targets while also dealing damage. The Sword deals critical damage to the marked targets, increasing with the number of gun marks on the target. Sword hits also recharge the gun's ammo, which doesn't recharge passively.
Blasphemous
The Penitent One is here. Mea Culpa...
Crush the Face Flask on your forehead, dealing low damage to yourself and transforming 35 percent of your missing health into recovery.
Guacamelee
The luchador Juan arrives, with a feathery surprise up his non-existent sleeve...
Channel your chicken spirit with the Pollo Power, turning into a chicken for a few seconds while firing several explosive eggs around you.
Skul: The Hero Slayer
Tear your way through hordes of enemies as Skul, slaying mobs with a trusty bone club.
Smash enemies with a bone club. Hitting with the second attack enables a whirlwind attack that deals critical damage.
Curse of the Dead Gods
That's right, mutton chops are in Dead Cells, we have now accomplished everything that we set out to do when we started this. Shut it all down.
Slash twice with a machete. The third attack uses the pistol to bump and inflict critical damage to nearby enemies. Holding the attack button charges a slow and powerful ranged attack.
That's it for the content, there's a few of the usual QoL fixes and what not too, so check out the patchnotes if you'd like to know more about that.
If you haven't had the chance to play Curse of the Dead Gods, Skul: The Hero Slayer or Guacamelee 2, then we are running a bundle with them from 10am PT so go fill your boots and show some love for the indies!
We'll be back soon with some more news, hope you enjoy the update and as always please don't hesitate to leave us feedback here or on social media :)
