Chornobyl Liquidators - LMG_Radek

A distinct look is something quite unique about the firefighters...

One of the things we spare no effort on is to make sure that we convey the appropriate feeling and atmosphere of the place, time and situation where the action of the game will take place. To that effect, we've been recently busy re-designing our firefighters to give them the unique look that they deserve to have. We're happy to share some of the concepts for the upgraded visuals of them - we know that you've been talking about their uniforms and we hope you will like what is presented on the images.

Which one of the concepts do you like the most?

As always we explore different colours and shadings but also variants of the masks. It's good to be able to choose from a variety of possibilities - as presented on the image above the differences encompasses quite a big number of things. Be it boots, gloves, helmets, capes or trousers - we want to find the right one to fit overall scheme of things. Obviously there is also a chance to find firefighters in equipment that varies a little bit from each other - after all some of them might have taken higher boots than the others, to say the least.

There is also a matter of equipment available to people working on the effects of catastrophe. Do you perhaps know what's presented on the screen above? Any ideas regarding the way it will be useful for liquidators and what we will be able to do in regards to the equipment shown above? Chernobyl Liquidators Simulator will feature many different tasks that our liquidators will have to take care of and as such we're constantly thinking about creative ways of implementing within the gameplay. We'll do our best to make sure your experience with us will be unforgettable.

Thank you for checking in and reading! See you again soon!

Kind regards,
Chernobyl Liquidators Simulator Team

EVE Online - EVE Online
Gladiatorial Capsuleers,

The first weekend of Alliance Tournament XVII begins tomorrow, on 6 November!
Prepare yourselves for an intense and exciting competition, with a staggering 40 teams in total rearing and ready to rumble in this year’s Alliance Tournament!

Teams will be fiercely competing for glory and spectacularly flat prize ships designed by Mordus Legion, the sponsor of this year’s Tournament – and every minute of valiant teamwork and bombastic carnage alike will be on full display for all to enjoy, broadcast on Twitch live from Reykjavik in our brand-new studio, produced in collaboration with our beloved EVE_NT partners!

During each day of the tournament, giveaways will be running regularly onstream, giving viewers the opportunity to win hundreds of SKINs – including the gorgeous and highly anticipated GalNet Streamcast series, as well as a number of physical prizes including EVE watches, USB hub Rifters, vouchers for EVE merch, and a selection of ship models from Mixed Dimensions!

Localized streams from our partners on Twitch will also be available:
Russian
Chinese
Japanese

Check out the ATXVII Announcement Blog, Rules to get an overview on what to expect in the Tournament, view the Brackets hosted on Challonge to see the full lineup and track the progress of all 40 teams, steal a peek at this year’s spectacular Prize Ships – the Raiju EAF and the Laelaps HIC, for a sneak preview of the fabulous rewards the Tournament’s winners will receive!

In addition to the prizes Alliance Tournament competitors can win, those participants who score a final blow on an enemy ship will get an additional prize.

Each death that occurs during the tournament will be minted into an NFT (non-fungible token) of the killmail to be memorialized on the Tezos blockchain. The killer will be the listed owner of this NFT and what they want to do with the NFT is entirely up to them; sell and trade these limited edition images, or hoard them as trophies as they see fit.

We are keenly aware of the environmental impact of cryptocurrencies, and for this reason, we opted to partner with Tezos for this project. Tezos’s Proof of Stake, the mechanism by which blockchain transactions are validated, is an extremely energy-efficient approach that uses two million times less energy than similar Proof of Work networks.

In regards to the power consumption of the AT NFTs, with an estimated power draw of only 200mWh per token and a maximum of 4000 NFTs being minted, the total consumption of the entire production process will equal less than it takes to run a mid-tier gaming PC for 3 hours – less than a single viewer watching only a tenth of the Alliance Tournament would be using.

And as an exciting extra bonus, in celebration of the return of the Alliance Tournament, the IGC will be relaunching the IGC SKIN series on the NES on 6 November, and releasing IGC SKINs for Mordus Legion’s Garmur, Orthrus, and Barghest on 9 November!

Cannon Foundry Simulator - Cannon_Foundry_Simulator

Hello again! Cannon Foundry Simulator developers here!

Let's come back to you with another piece of information on what is happening in the game right now. In recent weeks, we have focused on considering new concepts and solutions for our cannons. This time it was a filigree double-bar carriage and light spoked wheels.

Ok, that's the theory, but would it look like practice? Check out these Blender screenshots below.

What do you think? How do you like this solution?

Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more material from us!

See you soon!

Arcade Paradise - steve
Hello arcade owners! Dre here from Nosebleed Interactive to talk about some of the games in Arcade Paradise. For those who tried the demo during the Steam Festival, all of these should be familiar as you would’ve found them the moment you got the key to the back room. If you didn’t try the demo, you’ll hopefully learn a little more ahead of starting your adventure of turning the back room of King Wash into the ultimate arcade!

“All the fun of Air Hockey, less space, less dangerous flying pucks and keeps the multiplayer goodness!”

Video Air Hockey is one of the first games you will play in Arcade Paradise. To a certain extent it was a “test” game for us and is definitely one of the simpler ones we created. We needed a fun game to test local multiplayer, but as it happens loads of people really engaged with it and enjoyed it in the demo.

“Keep the boss happy as you need to stay one step ahead and sort the boxes in this puzzle game! Get promoted, avoid getting fired and please the boss to get a high score.”

Stack Overflow is based very heavily on the old maths puzzle “Tower of Hanoi” which was introduced to Europe sometime in the 1880s. The name, in case you didn’t already know, is a nod to every coder’s best friend, the website stackoverflow.com, an amazing *source* (excuse the bad pun) of useful code snippets and answers to questions that have been asked a million times by a million coders!

“It's the Princess' birthday and Woodgal sets out to deliver her a cake... travel the world map encountering friendly monsters and helpful friends in this exciting fruit matching game for all.”

Woodgal is a recurring character that you will find in many of the arcade games! Woodgal’s Adventure is first and foremost a match 3 game similar to Candy Crush or more directly Zookeeper DX on the Game Boy Advance, the first match 3 game I ever played (a lot when I used to commute to my first games job as a tester). As fans of JRPG games in the office we wanted to pay homage to the genre which is where the Adventure part of the game came in. One of my favourite bits of this is the Mode7 style rendering we used for the world map!

And with that, we come to a close on our first arcade game roundup - some of you may have played these during the demo during the NEXT festival, which ones did you like the most?

Standby for more game deep dives in future, and of course, more dev blogs!
If you're super excited for Arcade Paradise, make sure you've wishlisted the game on Steam! If you've already done that, then tell a friend or two to do the same, and keep an eye on our socials for more good Arcade content all over the internet!

Arcade of the Week - Arcade Club Bury

Each week we want to give back to the arcade community by highlighting an awesome arcade we think you should visit. This week is Arcade Club near Manchester in Bury, the biggest arcade in Europe with 3 floors filled with hundreds of games made up of classic and modern arcades. It’s a sight to behold with something for everyone that even many of those at Nosebleed Interactive and Wired Productions have already been to! Let us know if you’ve also visited!

Can you see the inspiration for the classic cabinets in Arcade Paradise?

We’ll be going into detail about more of the 35 games in Arcade Paradise! What ones have you seen in trailers that you’d like to learn about?

Noble's Life: Kingdom Reborn - Adrianus
Greetings great nobles,

Today we are back with another Dev Diary. We will dive again into the depths of the Middle Ages, but this time we will be focusing more on superstitions. Many of them were so popular and/or interesting, that we are eager to have them in our game in some way.

Without further ado…

Vampires
This belief was alive for a long period of time and history, even in more modern times (20th century) where some kinds of its manifestations were still palpable. Even despite that, earlier (17th to 18th century), many rulers such as Maria Theresa von Habsburg and clergy, e.g. Pope Benedict XIV condemned them as superstitions and fraud.

Mostly it depended on time and region, but there were situations where popularity of the undead was suddenly on the rise and it was connected to the stages of ongoing epidemics. That's why we thought about it as an interesting addition to the Black Death (which we've already covered in the Dev Diary #1 - Black Death), which was believed to be spread by the vampires.

There were all kinds of beliefs and their origins, as there was little to no knowledge about how the dead bodies deteriorate. But mostly we are interested in how to use those beliefs in our game to spice things up a little. That's why, when the player is fighting an epidemic in their domain, they shouldn't be surprised when the people will suddenly urge them to intensify the fights with vampires.

The player will be able to decide whether to desecrate graves and destroy corpses, hunt the potential bloodsuckers, or to hire a specialistic vampire hunter (yeah, legit). Surely some of the choices will appease the people, but as most things in Noble's Life, it will have its consequences. Of course, one of the alternatives is trying to fight with these dangerous prejudices (because, frankly, unearthing the decaying bodies in plague times isn't really a great idea at all). The decision lies only on the player's shoulders and maybe, it could be advisable, when the people are already having low morale while suffering from an epidemic.

This "reliable" method was used to exterminate the bloodsuckers in Roman Times and was one of the easiest. It consisted of stucking something firm (e.g. stone or brick) into the mouth of the deceased. Most of the time it was done by digging out the graves, when people suspected that certain bodies could possibly have "transformed" long after being buried. The item inside the mouth was supposedly for making it harder for them to chew - sucking the rest of the living energy out of the deceased in the graveyard - which in return, if they’ve had enough of, could possibly enable the vampire to rise from the dead. That's only a theory about so-called "shroud devourers" and there are many more, all different from each other, depending on the method for coping with the undead - some of them were even more invasive than what we've mentioned.

All Hallows' Day
Some days ago, there was a catholic ceremony for the All Hallows' Day and All Souls' Day, so it's a good opportunity to mention it here too. These events focus solely on death and that's why they've been also widely connected to many superstitions. Christian holidays for some time were competing with other former events (e.g. gaelic Samhain, which was also practised in Brittany). There are some presumptions that the time between September and November was indeed a meaningful time since antiquity.

That's why it's safe to assume that the old folk rituals could and probably were alive in many villages for a long time. Sparse sources mostly say about the dances, the feasts around big campfires and the traditions to put on the costumes (e.g. to play the role of satyrs or other fantastic creatures). Although the Church had other more important problems, they were strictly against these activities. They promoted their own variations, e.g. giving the poor the so-called 'soul cakes', cookies, which, according to beliefs, were supposed to release the suffering soul to Heaven. This custom was practised mostly by the English, so having it in a war-ridden France would probably have adverse effects after all ;)

Why are we writing about it? Mostly because, even though we put an emphasis on the catholic religion, which was a dominating belief all over Europe, we consider it interesting and meaningful for these times and it will be in some way included in our game as a few specific or odd events. As we mentioned before, to us, any interesting facts or things that were probable in the Middle Ages are an inspiration.

Concept art that depicts different “upgrades” to the churches, i.e. adding the triple bells to the main building. They were really important in those times, fulfilling many functions and uses. But in regards to today's topic, one of the most valuable roles that they were used for, was to scare off the evil spirits and forces. In other words, they were helpful to keep people calm when the preternatural dangers were on the rise.

That's all for today. In this Dev Diary we mostly wanted to show you that we are searching for a very broad range of topics to make the game fun and interesting. Before you ask - we don't plan to add things that are highly improbable, but if something has happened, even in the other parts of Europe, we are willing to give it a shot. Especially when the folk tales and sources that describe the simple people's lives aren't as detailed in description as the big global events that took place.

Next time, probably in the next week (if we will manage ^^"), we will be back to the topic of economy. Specifically, we will talk about those, whose job was to manage the lord's yards and fields, in other words - peasants, and about the player's ability to administer them and the village mechanics.

Ah, and by the way we invite you to our Twitter ( https://twitter.com/Nobles_Life ).
We've come to the conclusion that it will be interesting and engaging for you too if we will post there about the situations and events that took place in Europe in the Hundred Years'
