Entrenched is Foxhole's most expansive update of the year and includes a massive world expansion, player uniforms, a building overhaul, a new tactical camera, and much more!
WORLD EXPANSION
After years of development, the world of Foxhole has finally expanded to it’s fully realized scale and is now capable of supporting thousands of players in the same war at once. Fourteen new hexagon regions have been added, which will provide the space needed for larger scale wars, greater strategic depth, and a more dynamic frontline.
NEW ENVIRONMENTS
The persistent war will reach new battlefields taking place in fresh environments with never before seen towns, villages, and other points of interest.
UNIFORMS
Entrenched brings another highly requested feature to Foxhole: Player Uniforms. Like all other aspects of the war in Foxhole, Uniforms are produced and supplied to the front line by logistics players.
Uniforms will provide visual distinction to players on the battlefield and will provide one or more gameplay benefits, such special inventories, camouflage to circumvent enemy intelligence, or protection from harsh weather conditions

Entrenched includes a comprehensive building update, adding new content, features, and quality of life improvements.
TRENCHES & BUNKER
Trench mechanics have been updated with a variety of improvements, allowing Tanks to traverse over Trenches, Trenches to be filled in, and more. New tools, modifications, and customization options will enable builders to be more creative than ever before when designing their Bunker Bases and Trench networks in the future.
POWER
Engine Rooms in Bunkers can now be used to power lights on top of Bunkers, giving them greater visibility at night or Observation Bunkers, which provide even more intelligence coverage than existing Watchtowers do.
INTELLIGENCE CENTER
Dedicated builders can now construct a new type of super weapon, the Intelligence Center, which can be deployed to intercept enemy transmissions, providing strategic data that can help your faction win the war.
FRONTLINE BUILDING
Builders can now utilize Sandbags, Barbed Wire spools, and Metal beams to build elaborate frontline fortifications. These new fortifications offer several key benefits over conventional structures in Foxhole, including the ability to dynamically scale, bend, and snap, as well as being able to be built in strategic locations like bridges.
FOXHOLES
Soldiers can now use their shovels to dig out small dug outs in the ground that can be used for basic cover against enemy artillery and gunfire.
PILLBOXES
New stand alone garrisoned defenses are available, allowing even more flexibility when fortifying the front line. These include Rifle, Machine Gun, and AT Pillboxes.
NEW TANKS
Entrenched introduces new tank classes for each faction.
COLONIAL HEAVY LINE TANK
Unlike the 85-series, the Bardiche sports a heavier, more durable build and is fitted with a coaxial heavy machinegun along with a powerful, short-barrelled 68mm turret. Modern Kraunian engineering allows for a fast reload, making it an ideal tool to combat enemy armour.
WARDEN CRUISER TANK
Originally designed in response to increasing swarms of Mesean armour, the Outlaw is an exceptionally capable medium tank armed with a long-range 40mm turret and includes a built-in storm rifle support position.
NEW RIFLES
New rifle classes have been added for each faction, including new Long Rifles, Heavy Rifles, and Automatic Rifles.
TACTICAL CAMERA
The in-game camera has been completely redeveloped from the ground up. The new camera removes the need to corner aim and provides better situational awareness, giving players the information they need to make better tactical decisions on the battlefield.

Today we would like to share a speed painting video and, at the same time, ask the illustrator a few questions.
Please, introduce yourself. How long have you been an artist? How many years have you spent working in the gaming industry?
I am Manuel Labbate, born 1985. Having received a classic artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts, I have already made my first steps in the entertainment industry as a student, a path that ultimately led me towards the world of video games in the mid-2000s.
Let's talk inspiration. What feelings do you typically experience while drawing characters? Do their traits, such as moral alignment, make a difference?
The act of inventing something new is by far the most stimulating aspect of video game development. The very specific goal which guides the creative process is to try and maintain the delicate balance between artistic vision and functionality. For instance, while creating the protagonist for your story is a fascinating enterprise, an overdesigned character may confuse players or complicate things further down the line, hurting the final experience in the long run. When coming up with a new character, I always imagine them as a part of the in-game universe they will come to inhabit. Various elements can then be added or pushed aside, depending on how well they fit in with the rest of the setting.
What are your sources of inspiration for creating specific illustrations? Do you base your characters on an image from the past, an element of your current surroundings that can be successfully translated into the game's world, or something else entirely?
Everything that makes up an artist's wealth of experience influences their language and creative ideas. First, identify what it is that a character is supposed to communicate. From there on, you are free to draw from the vast ocean of human knowledge and cultural achievements, looking for the best way to express that concept through actions, form, symbolism, etc. Illustrative techniques, on the other hand, involve less research and depend heavily on the game's artistic direction. Just keep in mind that your colleagues will have to somehow translate your 2D images into other formats, breathing life into the game’s world.

How to participate
Fight in multiplayer battles! Required materials appear in the menu “Workshop → Export Order'' after each battle.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - LAUNCH EDITION
How different is Gloomhaven Digital from the original board game?
A 1:1 adaptation was both not possible or desirable, as digital platforms and their gameplay have their own advantages and drawbacks compared to tabletop. Keep in mind that differences remain very minor and Gloomhaven Digital is a very faithful adaptation of the original gameplay and design. Every difference implemented in Gloomhaven Digital was closely discussed and custom-tailored together with the original board game author, Isaac Childres, to ensure we stayed true to Gloomhaven's core design.

Will I need to buy the game again if I already bought the Early Access version?
No, of course not. If you already own Gloomhaven Digital, it won't brutally disappear from your library at launch - you will simply be prompted to download an update which will upgrade your Early Access version to the full 1.0 version.

How long is the game going to be at launch?
It varies a lot depending on how you play. There are 250+ missions in the game, shared between the Guildmaster and Campaign modes. That should be at least 150 hours of gameplay if you are super fast and never lose, probably above 200+ hours for most people.

Will my Early Access saves be compatible with the 1.0 version?
Guildmaster saves will for sure be compatible, however, for Campaign Beta saves, we cannot make any promises right now, it might depend on when they have been created.

Should I start a fresh run at launch?
Yes, we strongly suggest you start a fresh run as the Campaign will be brand new. It is also always a possibility to start a new one on the Guildmaster mode, but not necessary, as all saves (old and new) will have the same content.

How many players can play together online?
All of the content Gloomhaven has to offer (both the Guildmaster mode and the Campaign) will be available for up to 4 players in co-op.

Yes, we will be patching and supporting the game after launch. DLCs are also a possibility, but our main focus is supporting the base game and making sure it matches the players’ expectations. Anyway, we’re not going to suddenly vanish.

What will be the price of the game at launch? Why is it more expensive than the Early Access?
Since the launch of Gloomhaven's Early Access, we have clearly communicated about the price increase planned for the full release. With all the content added throughout the Early Access, including the digital exclusive Guildmaster mode, online co-op mode and eventually the acclaimed original board game campaign, Gloomhaven digital's value has substantially increased. This is why we will be increasing the price of the base game from 24,99€/$ to 34,99€/$ upon release.
