Creatures wandering, of dark woe Friend or Foe, I do not know.
So watch your step and tread with care Keep alert, and beware.
Hello everyone,
Are you ready to meet more creatures who lurk within the forest, hidden amongst the trees? Learn who will be a friend to you, and who you must be wary of? Will they cause harm or help? Only time will tell...
As mentioned before, some have origins in, or are inspired by Nordic folk tales, which we hope to show you more of over the coming months and share with you the rich history of our Nordic folklore and legends.
These dark, fearsome creatures have been brought to life by our Lead Artist Ellinor Morén, with her concept art featured in this update.
For now, a small glimpse into more of the creatures of the forest, all waiting for you to wander into their lands...
The Pinecone People are a tribe of small, mischievous creatures. These tiny inhabitants of the forest are mostly harmless to you, and you will meet many of them along your journey through the forest. They praise their leader through a ritualistic dance, and although not dangerous, they can be a bit annoying.
KärrHäxan, once a midwife and owner of an orphanage in the swamp, the local villagers accused her of being a witch and burned her and the orphanage down. She now spends her days as a protector of the deceased children of the swamp. Although her story is tragic, her heart still knows how to love.
Grey Dwarfs are a primitive and evil group of dwarfs living among poorly built red wooden structures. Be wary of them. They are not the friendliest creatures you’ll meet on your travels.
The Bramble Mare are dark creatures made up of bramble and the evil that seeps throughout the whole forest. They live on the negative energy that surrounds all living creatures.
There are more creatures to come, with more stories to tell, you will be hearing from us again soon.
And remember, do not venture into the forest at night.
As we get closer to the launch, we thought we'd share a somber little story trailer. To remind you that not all things in the wasteland are fun and games. Seems some of us are finding life on Mars a little harder to cope with...
But if those red planet blues are sinking a little too deep, fear not! We've also got two animated music videos to help take the edge off. Just a small taste of the chill tunes that will keep you company in the full game as you putt around the ruins of our once thriving planet. Joy!
Track 1 - Take My Hand:
Track 2 - Two Astronauts:
AND DON'T FORGET! EACH COPY OF THE GAME COMES WITH FREE STUFF
The full 2-hour soundtrack will be available as a free digital download with every copy of the game. On top of the soundtrack, you'll also get a free 55-page digital graphic novel - Charlie’s Odyssey - that delves into the full story of the game’s hero Charlie. Why exactly did this enigmatic and now disillusioned astronaut turn his back on the Mars colony project so quickly?
Let's talk about Faction Leaders in Sheltered 2! The importance of Factions cannot be understated, but neither can the paramount importance of their leaders; they're pivotal to your success and survival
we are thrilled to share with you a game created by our friends from Games Operators. The day has come, and you can try the thug life for yourself. All thanks to the full version of Rustler, which just came out of Early Access!
Rustler is an open-world, top-down action game paying tribute to the good old GTA style and gameplay, fusing it with a historically inaccurate medieval setting. Experience feudal injustice, inquisition, witch-hunting, and join The Grand Tournament. Complete a wide variety of twisted missions and quests, or don’t give a damn about the plot and bring mayhem in the villages and cities. All that, spiced up with an inappropriate Monty Python inspired sense of humor.
With just three days left until launch, we've managed to hit yet another Wishlist milestone thanks to your support! The latest goal unlocks the Disco Fever outfit, pictured below which will be available for players across all platforms once Surgeon Simulator: Access All Areas launches on September 2nd!
There's still time to wishlist the game and help unlock the final reward - the Plague Doctor outfit (yes, we saved the best for last).
We hope you're excited to perform surgery in these spectacular outfits!
Do you have some awesome outfit ideas you'd love to see in the game? Be sure to let us know in the forums. We also have an existing community of passionate surgeons over on our discord, so feel free to come and hang out - we'd love to see you there!
Greetings, Candidates! This is the newsletter for August 31, 2021.

We have two new features to discuss here. First is the creation of the research AI, which serves to allow the AI controlled corporations to make more interesting decisions regarding their research. We've mentioned the move from state machine AI to the IAUS model, but up until now we'd only gotten the Builder Bot properly working that way. The research AI is our first AI using this model that isn't centered around controlling a ship. Now the AI can pick research based on what it needs, as well as having preferences for certain technologies based on its personality.
The second feature is the new capacitors component for ships. The concept is that ship-based reactors are pretty expensive, both in terms of resources and available space. One of the first ways we tend to cut corners improve design efficiency during live streams and testing is by reducing the size of the reactor. This provides the ship with less power to run all systems, but not all systems need to be run constantly. Now capacitors can be added into the ship for minimal extra space and cost and they allow you to operate at full power for brief periods. We're hoping that the expanded design options will lead to more interesting strategies during testing.

Following on the heels of the recently completed Tutorial 2 draft, the Tutorial 3 draft is now very nearly finished. The first two tutorials focused on familiarizing the player with singular aspects of the game, the flight simulator gameplay in Tutorial 1 and the city building and RTS gameplay in Tutorial 2. Tutorial 3 is designed to cover the broader elements of multitasking and managing all the elements introduced in the first two tutorials at the same time. You could say that the first two tutorials are designed as "How do I use the basic interfaces available to me?" while Tutorial 3 is more "OK, great, now how do I combine all this to actually play Rank: Warmaster?" Jorden is hoping to have the first draft for Tutorial 3 completed by mid-week and to begin working on the Articy Implementation for Tutorials 2 and 3 immediately after.

As with anytime a new system is implemented, we have to make sure the UI for that system is both functional and visually pleasing. To that end, Paul has been working on the new UI for power ratios in the Quick Designer. This new UI is, of course, to allow the player to actually add capacitors to their ships effectively. More information and pictures can be seen in Paul's most recent blog.

Did you know our game features voice-overs? If you've watched our livestreams, then you've already heard the voice of Ares as alerts come up, but we also have voice-overs planned for our tutorials and scenarios. All voices in Rank: Warmaster are either performed or created by Chris. We aren't certain yet to what degree the tutorials will be voiced by Early Access launch, but Chris has been working on recording the voice lines for Tutorial 1 so that you can at least hear some of what we have planned for the game. We very much hope you enjoy his performance as the voice of Ares as much as we do.
That's all for this update! Stay tuned for more information as our first newsletter of September will be in two weeks. To keep up to date on our progress as well as to be notified as soon as the game is available, make sure to wishlist us on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1422270/Rank_Warmaster/
Today is a super exciting day, so much so we're all zooming about! Either that, or we've had too much coffee...
Starting off, we'd like to apologize for the long silence and explain why we've been keeping things so close to the dog house!
First and foremost, we've been working on the game like crazy based on the feedback we've received but most importantly we didn't want to over-promise and under-deliver.
That also means...vastly more doggos! We've added a few packs to bark the least!
With that said, the game has come a very long way since we last spoke, and we're happy to announce The Last Friend will be releasing on September 30th, 2021 on PC platforms and of course on Nintendo Switch. Doggos on the go!
That's right, in only a month's time, you'll be able to finally rescue all the doggos you can while taking out hordes of baddies in our Tower Defense X Brawler title.
If that wasn't exciting enough, we've got a bunch of treats to hand out! May want to grab a seat for this - In the very near future, we'll be releasing The Last Friend: First Bite.
This is a demo that will let you experience several thrilling levels while waiting to get your copy of the game.
Oh, who are we kidding, why wait to get your copy when you can Pre-Order it today?!
We've got three pawesome bundles available for you to pick from including the limited 'True Frens' edition which immortalizes your dog in-game!
Now, how cool is that?
Seriously, we're not kidding. Your dog will actually be inside the game as imagined by our amazing artists...
You'll want to tell everyone about this amazing deal. Friends, loved ones, gaming buddies, your favorite streamer, coworkers, everyone, even your dog if he has a Paypal account!
Help support us by getting the word out for a game that is all about saving humanity's best frens. Plus you can pet the dogs while taking a break from building your amazing turret-fueled defenses..
Lastly, we wanted to remind you that joining our Discord where the devs hang out is a great way to talk with fellow dog owners. You can talk about the game there too, we guess. And you can also meet our loveable chihuahua T.Juan!
