This week we continued working on tavern personalities. Two more characters added to the pool of tavern patrons. One is Historian, the other is Retired Captain.
If you buy a meal to Historian, he tells a two sentence epic tale(!) about a long forgotten hero. This gives our hero “Inspired!” major effect for 5 days. “Inspired!” gives +2 to melee and ranged attacks.
These two sentence tales are procedurally generated. Here is an example: “Once there was a supersitious silversmith who has gone to the far end of the world to fight a giant. At the end he was victorious but poor.”
The other character our hero can meet at the tavern is Retired Captain. He wants our hero to buy him a meal. If our hero buys a luxurious meal for 100 coins, he gains “Captain’s Friend” major effect. This effect lasts for 5 days and grants our hero a 50% sea travel discount.
With the Oracle and the Elder Scholar we mentioned last week, there are now 4 new characters at the tavern. We are working on some more for the next update to make the taverns more populated and varied. Thanks for reading :)

* Fixed incorrect lighting and reflections in the Orientation area. In general it's a bit darker overall however it does promote using and experimenting with the LightStick. * Fixed reflections of some materials. * Updated the teleporting/transporting effect to look more polished and shine a temporary light in case you transport to a place that is completely dark. * Fixed some camera exposure settings in general.

New ingredients, game mechanics and alchemical tricks are important, but even more important are those for whom we brew our potions – your customers! That’s why we strive to keep creating new NPCs to make the Potion Craft world rich with characters and their stories.
If the Monster Hunter looks a bit familiar to you, rest assured it is a complete coincidence! When he was only a sketch, our white haired friend originally wanted to wear two swords. But in the end he came to his senses and now wears only one.
An interesting tidbit, each time a new NPC is created we have to divide their hair into layers so it will lie correctly against clothes and armor without clipping.
Some of you may remember the Master Alchemist from the very first playtest. Now he’s back and he will finally tell you how to manipulate the Alchemy Machine!
Who can guess what is going on inside the head of the Dwarf Miner when his face is reflecting such a range of emotions?
Whatever he was thinking about, we’ve asked him to keep his pickaxe put away just in case, it's not safe to swing sharp metal objects in such a crowded shop! He does not approve.
But it’s rogues who might really pose danger! While the night is dark and full of terrors, our Rogues’ appearance is full of variations.
They say any game is better if there’s a fishing mini-game in it. We don’t have such a game, but we do have a fisherman!

Hello folks, Our usual patch cadence is to update weekly and then pause those updates as we get ready for one of our big Feature Arc patches. That's where we are right now with our next Feature Arc: the Palladium Reef / Character Creation Rework!
We plan to put up a beta in the coming weeks (no date yet), so to give us the focus we need, we're pausing weekly patches as of this week. We may still sneak one in now and then if there's a reason to, but it's safer not to expect it.
