Hello Dieselpunk Builders!

As you have probably noticed, Dieselpunk Wars officially left Early Access on the 13th of May. We would like to thank everybody who joined us for the celebration during our release live stream. If you missed it, you can watch a VOD of the live stream here:


When Dieselpunk Wars left Early Access, we also released the long-awaited patch 1.1.0. Soon after, we also launched a hotfix 1.1.1, addressing some issues with scenario sharing on Steam Workshop. We have been talking about these updates for weeks before the release but we never did share complete patch notes. This post is here to fix that!

Check out the changelog below:

  • Added new functionality that allows scenario sharing via Steam Workshop.
  • Created a new tab "Fortifications" in Battle Simulator, which allows the players to add buildings to Battle Simulator.
  • Reworked Battle Simulator UI to work with new functionalities.
  • A vehicle can now be designated as a "Player Vehicle" in the Battle simulator.
  • Vessels can now be marked as targets for the Player Vehicle.
  • Added a button to copy a selected vehicle in Battle Simulator ('E' by default).
  • It's now possible to plan move orders for AI-controlled vehicles in the Battle Simulator.


Developer comment:
Simply put, all of the above features allow you to create your own missions in Battle Simulator and share them with your friends via Steam Workshop. Scenario sharing works similarly to vehicle sharing. When you start a scenario in which one of the vehicles is a "Player Vehicle", you will take control of the chosen vehicle instead of the usual battle simulation. Your task, as a player, will be to either destroy marked targets or defeat every vehicle on the opposing teams.

As a scenario creator, you can set up elaborate battle plans, position enemy vehicles behind heavy fortifications, and prepare patrol routes for the AI. And then order the player to destroy a heavily guarded convoy or break into a fortified facility. And as a player, all you have to do is download that scenario, open it in Battle Simulator, and have fun!

Just remember that if you share a scenario with custom-made vehicles, you need to publish those vehicles via Steam Workshop too. Otherwise, other players won't be able to use your scenario.



Now, for the rest of the changelog:
  • Added a new map called "Valley", perfect for large-scale vehicles and for custom scenarios in Battle Simulator.
  • New blocks were added, including new viewports and Detachable Joints, which you can use to split your vehicle into smaller pieces or merge a few vehicles into one larger vessel.
  • Improved vehicle physics.
  • It's now possible to modify physics settings, including gravity or air drag, in the Creative Mode.
  • Rotors now have an additional function, which allows them to be controlled by a mouse (this can be enabled individually for each rotor in Build Mode).
  • Translations have been improved, big thanks to our community for feedback and suggestions regarding these changes!
  • And many, many bugfixes...

Amazing Fix - LancelotBleu
- We wanted to speed up the games when there are 1-2 items left to find to win. Depending on the difficulty level, a clue will appear after a certain time to help the player locate the last object.

- We found a bug in the item creation system. We are not not sure if it is related with the impossible to click objects - but it could.

COMING NEXT

The sequence when the game is over is being improved. We want to tell the player where were the items they were looking for before losing.

I am happy to announce that community levels will be available right at the beginning of early access, and best of all: integrated with the steam workshop.

This functionality is working very well in the beta test.
Soon you will also be able to create, share and discover new Levels every day.

Path to Heaven - skyrimwarrior2014
Hello! Path to Heaven has become available for purchase.

The game includes up to 5 hours of content and that's not all. In the future, I plan to release two updates: Void and Challenge Update. These two updates will bring about 2-5 hours of new content.



Void Update is ten new levels and the completion of the story that was started in Path to Heaven. It will add many different obstacles and traps to the game.

Challenge Update is a different trials for a player. You will need to pass the levels over time, without deaths and more.

I plan to release both updates by the end of the summer.

OVR Toolkit - Desktop Overlay - CurtisVL

Hello everyone!

This update is BIG, it changes quite a lot of OVR Toolkit's fundemental design from 3 years ago to drastically improve rendering performance, this should greatly reduce GPU usage and improve capture performance at the same time.

I've been working closely with the developer of uWindowCapture, the window capture plugin used by OVR Toolkit, to iron out issues with their newly added Windows.Graphics.Capture API support, but, not all issues are going to be magically gone. If you do experience issues, please be sure to report them in Discord or the Steam Discussions! Me and the plugin developer are more than happy to help out but we need you to report issues otherwise they can't be fixed!

This update has been in closed testing for about a week and a half, then it has had a further week of open beta, I've done as much as I can do with the feedback I'm getting from a limited userbase. No one has reported any issues that block release, so here we are. :)

TL;DR - If you have issues report them in Discord or Steam Discussions please!

Game closing whenever you get an OVR Toolkit update? Disable 'Game Theatre' in the Steam desktop client settings!

Added:
- Added 'Attach fpsVR' settings to Global Settings > Wristwatch. (Requires fpsVR Beta until the public release on their end!)
- Added 'Use GPU Capture' setting to Window Settings, this forces Windows.Graphics.Capture to always be used at the cost of GPU usage.
- Added basic touchpad scrolling for Custom Apps.
- Added Web API call 'GetUniqueID' to get the UID of the calling app.
- Added crash detection, will disable GPU capture if the program didn't gracefully close last shutdown. (Most likely cause of a crash)
- Added child window support. (Context menus, settings menus, etc. - Should revert to old capture method upon a child window being active)

Changes:
- Rendering has been greatly reduced, performance should be much better.
- Overlays are now 1:1 resolution with the window on the desktop, improving clarity.
- Cursor is now its own overlay and will no longer be affected by overlay capture rate.
- Updated uWindowCapture plugin, now supports Windows.Graphics.Capture. (Much faster GPU-based window capturing)
- Touchpad scrolling can now be used on either hand, not just the active hand.
- Updated styling of keyboard and window quick controls.
- Simulator Mode 'Window Settings' menu can now scroll, more options can be added now.
- Web API 'SetOverlaySetting' option 9 is now 'EnableRendering', disabling this will stop the overlay from rendering but keep scripts running. (Saves GPU usage)

Bug fixes:
- Fixed Simulator Mode sometimes highlighting the wrong window when in Window Settings.
- Fixed an incorrect web API call return.
- 'SetKeyboardFocus' web API call is now set to false whenever that browser isn't in focus
- Fixed tracker window dock points not working as intended.
- Fixed clicking on a browser sometimes also clicking on a window/desktop capture.
