Levels All The Way Down

Puzzle games teach you many new skills but they are finite, and you finish them, and then you can’t use those skills anymore. That's why we invented a puzzle designer AI which creates fresh levels for every run; you can use your problem-solving skills for as long as you like.

Guaranteeing that all levels are solvable was relatively easy (you can claim $100 cash prize for finding an unsolvable level!). The hard part was to make sure the levels are interesting and provide enough variety to keep you going for a long time. We spent more than two years honing the algorithm and gave players the ability to upvote cool levels so that other players can enjoy the generator's best hits.



A Transhuman Story

There are infinite levels but that doesn't mean you can't beat the game. You can achieve victory following two separate strategies: the easier route is to simply terraform Earth. The more challenging one is to find the cause of the mysterious disappearence of all life.

With this story, our goal was to paint a realistic picture of existential risk; stuff that can seriously cripple humanity's potential to realize our cosmic endowment of establishing an intergalactic human civilization. Trillions of trillions of potential future human lifes are in danger. The intro sequence might seem over-the-top but what happens there is actually well within the realm of possibilities in our current Universe. The threat of global warming, nuclear holocaust and asteroid impact is heavily publicized, but the risk from molecular nanotechnology and unfriendly AI wiping out humanity is less well-known. Our secret hope is that this story will nudge ambitious young people towards the field of AI-alignment research.



Graduating Early Access

Since the Early Access release this January, we released three DLCs to expand the experience. We also introduced many small features that improve the quality of the life you spend on this broken planet.

We'd like to thank our small community of friends and playtesters who never failed to point out issues and frustrations. This game was built on their shoulders. ❤️

Saturday marks the beginning of Albion's tenth Guild Season, a major milestone that would not have been possible without the support of the Albion community worldwide. This season will be the first to include the new Avalonian Weapons and Roads of Avalon, and we're very excited to see how guilds make use of these new features.

Claim Your Goliath Horseeater
Guilds that reach a high enough rank during the season can claim fantastic rewards including an avatar, avatar ring, and the fearsome new Goliath Horseeater mount with root, immobility, and poison spells. This mount will be awarded to members of guilds that reach Silver Rank or higher during the season. The winning guild will receive a statue among the past Guild Season winners in Conquerors' Hall, and the first through fifth ranked guilds will also receive a 90-day Fame Bonus.


Watch Live on AlbionTV
As always, you can watch the season start live: the action kicks off on AlbionTV this Saturday, August 29 at 17:30 UTC, when hosts Shozenwon, Lewpac and Bogul bring you full coverage of Invasion Day.

At 18:00 UTC, guilds can claim territories and launch attacks. Those in the North and South American time zones can also tune in for the second round of territory resets on Sunday, August 30 at 00:30 UTC with hosts Shozenwon, Robinhoodrs and Bogul covering the next round of claimable territories starting at 01:00 UTC.

Fights are broadcast live with a 15-minute time delay.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead - Headup Games


Dear bridge builders,

Over the last year, we have sheltered ourselves in our post-apocalyptic bunkers, working closely with the folks at AMC on the next iteration of the Bridge Constructor franchise. Now, we are almost ready to unleash Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead on all the fans and players of both franchises.

And while it’s not quite time to reveal the first gameplay footage, we are thrilled to present the new game reveal live-action trailer, which made its debut at the gamescom: Opening Night Live presentation, hosted by Geoff Keighley:


Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead will be released later this year across all major systems. So, stay tuned for the first gameplay footage coming up in the near future!

A few words on the game itself
Hellcard is a truly multiplayer cooperative roguelike deckbuilder. It's a kind of spin-off sequel to Book of Demons too. We often wondered how BoD would play if it was a multiplayer and a deckbuilder to the core and Hellcard is the answer.

Designed for up to three players (while also featuring solo campaign mode, of course) it pitches heroes in a series of encounters and battles against progressively more tricky enemies. You not only build your own deck adapting to the dungeons and looking for synergies but also try to synergize with your friends' decks. Or you can try your luck fighting back to back with strangers.

Pre alpha disclaimer


The demo you can play during this event is our pre-alpha prototype. We originally built it to test selected core combat mechanics and test drive the multiplayer net code with our community. Once the event is over we will scrap the code and create the final game using what we learned during the event. This means that it would be super helpful if you would report bugs (either on Discord or using in-game widget).

This is only the beginning of this adventure and we will keep testing builds as we go. In case you would like to be a part of that process hop on Sneak Peek channel on our Discord.
