June is here but E3 is not, with the games expo’s cancellation leaving the the industry without an anchor for the year’s big announcements and marketing blasts. E3’s organisers are not planning an online replacement of their own, so instead a load of different small expos, festivals, and marketing blasts will be filling in this year. While E3 and the surrounding blast are done inside two weeks, this all will go across two months. It can be a bit confusing so here’s the schedule of events and streams coming in E3’s stead, now updated for all the postponements.

Criterion Games have announced they’ll be taking the wheel for the next Need For Speed game, shifting Need For Speed Heat into low gear. Even as the current racing game takes the next exit, the final update is one worth mentioning. As of Tuesday, June 9th, Need For Speed Heat will allow cross-platform multiplayer between all PC and console players.

After postponing their planned indie showcase this weekend, Guerilla Collective dedicated Sunday to showing off indie games by Black game developers. As usual, you’ll find me digging past the stack of action platformers to find—ah yes, a management game. Onsen Master is a management ’em up all about revitalising a fantasy island with the power of a very nice bath.
Over the weekend, Twitter’s rumour mill started spinning up again, as multiple accounts posted all sorts of teasery info about Bloodborne potentially getting PC and PlayStation 5 ports. None of this is official, of course, though it’s kind of reminiscent of when similar rumours started going around about PlayStation exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn earlier this year – and that’s coming out on PC this summer. So, it seems at least somewhat likely that Bloodborne could be next in line, so let’s take a look at what we know about this rumour so far.

Valorant may be a polished gem of a shooter, but its closed beta and launch has been far from steady for some players. Error 43 codes, timeout errors, and more have been plaguing a portion of the playerbase for some time now. But our Valorant error codes guide will try to equip you with all the ammo you need to shoot down these error messages and get you back into the game as soon as possible!

Customising your Valorant crosshair exactly how you want it is far more important than you may think. Your crosshair setup is not simply a cosmetic choice; it can make all the difference in the fast-paced, low-time-to-kill battles of Riot’s new tactical shooter. Our Valorant crosshair guide will walk you through how to set up your crosshair to compliment your needs – and we’ll also show you the crosshairs used by many top players and streamers in the world.

Who remembers the 90s? Teachers cowering under their desks, living in constant fear of gunge reprisal. Dave Benson Phillips stomping a Furby to death behind a Woolworths. Princess Diana slowly opening her mouth on live television to reveal the very first Tamagotchi. And then there was you, a horrid greasy goblin person hunched over a yellowing CRT monitor in the corner of the living room. On the screen is Command & Conquer, the hot new videogame from Electronic Arts and Westwood Studios, and the first ever strategy game to feature an electric guitar.

After debuting on PlayStation VR, sandbox puzzle adventure Paper Beast has announced that it will release on PC this summer. The semi-surreal sandbox puzzle is headed up by Pixel Reef founder Eric Chahi of Another World and From Dust fame. It strikes me as one of those games that’s tough to wrap your head around without giving it a go. Fortunately, Paper Beast is joining the Steam Game Festival, meaning VR owners will be able to try the free demo later this month too.
If you’ve been waiting for a great graphics card deal recently, you’ve probably noticed it’s been pretty slim pickings these last couple of months. Fortunately, graphics card prices finally seem to be on their way down at the moment, with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1660 Super hitting a new low of £219 in the UK, and several AMD cards getting some nice rebate offers over in the US, including the RX 5500 XT and RX 5700 XT. Here’s our pick of the bunch.
There it is, the trans-planetary pipeline. One long tube of metal scarring a rural alien planet. It brings coal and water to my power stations, and electricity to my factories. It has taken a day of planning, construction and pumping. Now, the pipeline stands before me, a snaking behemoth of energy consumption. Suddenly, a thought comes. Why didn’t I just build coal stations next to the vein? I could have stretched a cheap wire across the planet, instead of a kilometre-long death pipe.
This is Satisfactory, a cracking first-person factory-builder that’s been in early access on Epic for a while. It’s coming to Steam today, so RPS management dispatched me to inspect the game’s machinery and ruin the extraterrestrial idyll with smog and incompetence. They sent the right person.
