This week I focused on optimization and bug fixes. I also have some important news about the future of Reynard and Hyper Fox Studios.
A lot of people asked me if Reynard will be released on Nintendo Switch platform and I can finally reply that… IT WILL!!! Nintendo approved my developer account for Switch. This gave me another huge motivation boost!
Generally It means that I’ll be:
Adding more new content (bosses, enemies, items…),
Further optimize the game,
Squish undiscovered and upcoming bugs!
It’s good news, but I’ll have more expenses by getting the right hardware (Switch) etc. Besides that, my PC freezes from time to time. I really hope that he only has a “phase”.
I'm super happy that so many of you support Reynard. But I'm not able to live off our little fox :D So in the next couple of weeks, I'll try to earn enough money for the upcoming costs. I'll pick up some client work in web development. In these upcoming couple of weeks don't be mad if I'll be releasing only minor updates for Reynard.
Enough with the news! Here are the changes!
[MAJOR] Movement and dash of Reynard and NPCs has been optimized. The game should run smooth now on 60 FPS.
[MINOR] Added the FPS option – 60 FPS.
[MINOR] Added the starting area blocades in Ferdinand’s level.
[MINOR] When crafting, everything except equipment now gets added to your inventory automatically.
[BUGFIX] Fixed the bug when you’d play on the easy mode and the perk would take away more stamina than allowed.
[BUGFIX] Daily run on easy mode now loads starting items correctly.
[BUGFIX] Mumu now deals damage over time.
[BUGFIX] Effect zones of spawned cursed weapons don’t get blown away by the wind anymore.
[BUGFIX] No more building stuff on player, enemy or ally ocuppied area in the invasion.
[BUGFIX] Fixed a room cell which had a “physical” golden key in it.
Until next time! I wish you an awesome weekend and happy dungeon crawling! 😀

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your support with last week's Free to Play launch. It was certainly a busy week, with some of the team in Katowice that weekend manning the MAD MACHINES booth graciously provided by ESL. It was great to see players new and old try out the game in person, and feedback from this and other events has been vital in our internal balance discussions.
A big thanks to ESL for this MAD setup in Katowice!
On to this week - as promised, we have a bunch more features and fixes for you all!
Customization, Item Unlocks and the Shop
More customization options? We hear you! The Shop is your way of purchasing new cosmetic options for your Machines. There are two ways you can do this: with Metal or with Carbyne.
Metal is currency that you obtain at the end of every match (excluding Custom Matches). Everything you unlock to purchase via levelling up will be available in the Shop to purchase for Metal.
Carbyne is the premium currency within MAD MACHINES. Purchasable with real money through the Shop, you can skip the grind for Metal to purchase your unlockable items directly. You can also purchase all current DLC with Carbyne directly in-game. This includes the limited-time MAD Bundle, containing the Founder's Pack weapons and the prepurchase for the Season ZERO Pass!
We're exploring other ways of rewarding players with additional Metal and Carbyne, so please stay tuned for more information on that in a future update.
For the curious, here's a list of the current textures you can unlock for your Machines and their weapons by levelling up:
Those that reached these levels before this update will have the textures at and below their level appear in the Shop.
We'd love to see what creative things you can come up with using the customization system! If you have a customization preset you're particularly proud of, be sure to tweet it to us @Mad_Machines!
Bug-Squashing, Tweaks and Quality of Life
- Goalies can no longer be "pushed around" by other players, or the ball - Fixes to matchmaking and queue system - Fixes to the rematch system - There is more information available to you if you are queueing for a match while playing a single player mode - Bot improvements - General UI improvements and tweaks - General improvements and bug fixing to the backfilling system - Friends list fixes for the Steam version - Option to add images in the custom banner (in the special settings menu) - This is very much an experimental feature, but we hope you have some fun with it! Please note that both settings in the "Special" section will only appear on your client, not for other players.
Come talk with us!

Last month we updated Post Scriptum with another massive update adding our newest map Veghel, 2 new vehicles, even more layers to existing maps, bayonets and a lot more.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that we are releasing another free update to Post Scriptum!! ARMOURED game mode is now available to all Post Scriptum owners. If you haven’t seen it yet, we had an amazing event last weekend with content creators crewing their favourite tanks and engaging in 12 versus 12 tank battles. A lot of clips and videos of that event are already on YouTube and below is our announcement trailer that we released just before the event. Ammo Bag for infantry Also coming with this update is the addition of the infantry ammo bag that is available to all riflemen.
Select the ammo bag and drop it on the floor, it can then be used by any other player to refill his ammo count. Look at it, press the F key and then click on resupply, this item can only be used once and will disappear after usage.
You are able to rearm at the ammo bag yourself but the ammo bag is not capable of rearming itself or at any other ammo crate. So you only have one per life and a maximum of two deployed simultaneously. Unused ammo bags will disappear after two minutes.

Damage model improvement
Common values to all PS vehicles:
ON COMPONENT HIT: Crew: 50% chance of damage Turret: 100% chance of damage Ammo: 75% chance of damage Turret: 100% chance of damage Engine: 100% chance of damage Tracks: 100% chance of damage
All penetration values have been added to the Arnhem Range training map. For a recap on how our system works, we recommend you have a look at our Tea Time with the Devs that we had a few days ago.
Map Voting Yes! You can now, at the end of each round vote for the next map!
You can vote for a map but also the game mode. Voting Refresh will refresh the set of maps available on screen, which is currently not doing anything, but it will very soon as we will have more than 8 maps in a few weeks time. (Best, Grave and then our next theatre)
That is of course optional and a server admin can decide if they want the Map Vote feature or keep the old Map Rotation system.
For ServerAdmins:
To add that option, simply go to the ServerConfig folder and set that line from:
“MapVoting=False” to “MapVoting=True”
You will also see a file called: “MapVoting.cfg”, in there will be all the layers available for each map. You can then decide what layers to include, or not.
This is an example of layers that will be in your vote, when voting for Arnhem AAS, it will select one of the 3 layers added.
Contact us on Discord to get the full listing of maps for your CFG files.
PS: Armoured layers and Offensive/AAS layers can not be hosted on the same server rotation.
