Wayward - Drathy
As noted with our last release, we were working on some issues relating to performance. Now, some weeks later, we think we have something available that will help the majority of people that had issues previously (especially on lower end machines). This required much more extensive testing than normal for these minor releases, which is why it took a bit more time, and also why you'll find that this changelog may not seem very minor. This won't be the fix for all performance issues, and probably won't be the end of the beta 2.6.x series, as we still want to wrap up a few items before focusing on our next major release.

If you are still dealing with performance issues and don't want to wait, there's a number of options and possible solutions available for you. We recently released a guide on this, "Wayward Performance Guide" available here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1438746684
As you'll see below, this release was hardly all about performance, and more about balancing, improving, and fixing bugs in the game. A common issue we have seen in multiplayer is new players struggling. This is due to the very fast paced nature of the game when not playing in turn-based mode. To combat this, we have introduced a brand-new mode which adds a simulated turn-based environment for more strategic and dynamic multiplayer gameplay, allowing turns to only pass if players are actively performing actions. We've also opened up adjacent containers/items to be used in disassembling/dismantling fully, further decreasing some tedium in inventory management. This is just a few of the highlights; take a peek down below for more goodies.

Have fun and keep suggesting your ideas and reporting issues!

New
  • Added a "Simulated Turns" multiplayer mode, which allows time/turn passing as long as players are performing actions, otherwise the game will be paused.
  • Added adjacent container dismantling.
  • Added a /save chat command.
  • Added an option to disable auto saving.
  • Added an option to toggle adjacent container crafting.
Improvements
  • Added support for using multiple movement binds at the same time.
  • Added support for adjacent containers for disassembling/dismantling requirements.
  • Decreased saving and loading time, especially for dedicated servers. The file size of saves has increased due to this change (although exported saves will still be compressed).
  • Added an extra check to see if you are already facing a crafting requirement before turning to face the first instance found.
  • Added display of skill use reputation impact within crafting tooltips.
  • Merchant NPCs will now spawn on game saves that do not have them (from previous versions).
  • All hard-coded bind hints will now show what your actual binds are (instead of using the defaults) within the Starter Quest.
  • Added more information to the stats help entry to explain how their maximum values work.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed dismantling ignoring the order of items if no turn was passed after sorting items. (Thanks CMDR Kargen Dracos [INR]!)
  • Fixed an issue where some players were experiencing the game freezing/crashing while saving.
  • Fixed occasional uncaught errors related to multiplayer connections (when hosting a dedicated server).
  • Fixed the attack damage label values not updating.
  • Fixed a bug where both the character selection and main menu would appear when joining a game from a player's Steam profile with Wayward closed.
  • Fixed an issue with some integrated GPUs that caused incorrect colors and other rendering glitches/visual artifacts.
  • Fixed an issue where disassembled items could result in items with higher minimum durability than their maximum. (Thanks CMDR Kargen Dracos [INR]!)
  • Fixed a bug that would cause keyboard controls to become stuck after holding them down while pressing the chat focus bind. (Thanks AbstrXact_Data!)
  • Fixed the chat bind working when an interrupt is visible.
  • Fixed the "Menu Enter" bind not working on input interrupt menus.
  • Tumbleweeds may now drop their resources on adjacent tiles as dropping on the same tile did not allow it to grow. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed an issue where some books could contain items that resulted in you weighing more after opening them. (Thanks CMDR Kargen Dracos [INR]!)
  • Fixed a bug where weight did not update after learning from an old educational scroll.
  • Fixed the "equip hovered item" bind still toggling the equipment dialog when you're hovering an item.
  • Fixed an extra space appearing in Starter Quest completion messages.
  • Fixed legendary strength items not effecting max weight when equipped. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed an issue that caused dialog filters to filter incorrect items in.
  • Fixed an instance where hitting locked chests or creatures barehanded with hand protection provided no benefits.
  • Fixed gathering with hands not damaging your equipment enough, leading to this method being better than gathering with an actual tool. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed swimming animations not resetting after travelling.
  • Fixed an issue where legendary skill items could potentially result in percents with more than 1 decimal point. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed a bug where legendary attack damage was not applying to melee weaponry. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed a bug where loading saves without previously loaded mods would still attempt to add modded items, skills, etc. through normal means.
  • Fixed move to tile not stopping movement while moving in front of an NPC. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed +load for dedicated servers not generating a new world if the save specified did not exist.
  • Fixed the dismantle filter getting reset after passing a turn. (Thanks Arnkh!)
  • Fixed renamed containers not displaying their new name until they are closed and re-opened. (Thanks CMDR Kargen Dracos [INR]!)
  • Fixed the menu bar overlapping quickslots when there are enough menu bar buttons at certain resolutions.
  • Fixed some text being removed when switching languages.
Balance
  • Removed the ability to get hurt (or bleed) from gathering most plants with no tool/hand protection.
  • Carving corpses will now provide positive reputation in cases where the creature was hostile. (Thanks Aaron!)
  • Treasure guardians will now be more difficult at lower reputation levels.
  • Attacking creatures or hitting locked chests barehanded (without hand protection) can now cause bleeding.
  • Doubled spyglass durability.
  • Only tamed chickens will now lay eggs. Clucks-be-gone!
  • Added a larger lower range for exceptional/legendary item durability that are found or transmogrified (does not effect crafted items, which have a much larger cap).
  • Using your hands will now use more stamina than using tools for gathering, harvesting, digging, and attacking.
  • Decreased base aberrant spawning chances, and further decreased the chance as your reputation is raised.
Technical
  • Upgraded to Electron 3.0.0 which should improve compatibility and performance, especially on lower-end machines.
AdventureQuest 3D - Artix von Krieger

Version 1.10.0 "Grassy Blades of Death" is here!
Be sure to grab the newest update of AdventureQuest 3D from Steam or the App Store. Here is what is new...

This release KICKS GRASS!
...literally. We added support for grass and when you walk over it, it moves. However, none of the maps actually have any grass in it (yet). Grass will be added to the Town of Battleon and outside of Death's lair in the next release. You can toggle grass in the settings.

New Friends Interface
"Let's be better friends!" From your friends list, you can now directly invite someone to your group, or goto them, or summon them, or send them a whisper. (Thank you to MJ from Massively Overpowered for making me realize how important this feature is for playing together.)

Fixed news button disappearing after map change
Apparently, "No news" is NOT good news. This has been fixed.

Bizzaro Character Deformations Fix!
There was a glitch that caused players to bend into unholy positions and break things for other players in the game. Zhoom added checks to prevent this "asset distortion issue".

Spy on other player's equipped items
What the heck is that player wearing? Now you can know. When you inspect a player you can now see their equipped items-- both actually equipped and cosmetically equipped.

Dual Wield Hand Cannons
The game now supports all the features required to release Pirate and Alpha Pirate. This is, of course, our first dual wielding hand cannon class. This is a new equip slot that all players will have. But will only be usable by classes that use hand cannons.

Mobile Features - Joystick and Auto Run Toggles
By popular demand we have added the option to lock the joystick in place and enable disable auto run. You can auto run on mobile by double tapping the joy stick.

Combat Improvements and Balance Updates
"Don't you hate it when devs write something like this in the patch notes and then do not give any details?" So here are the details....
  • The game will now only show other players' status effect icons on your target. Spells that only do damage / DoTs will not have their icon shown. This is to clear up some icon clutter on the target.
  • Area of Effect abilities now deal 10% less damage or healing to their 2nd target, 20% less to their 3rd target, down to a minimum of 50% damage to their 6th or more targets.
    • To compensate, AoE abilities have had their base power increased. The result should be that these spells do nearly the same or more damage to 3 or fewer targets, but less to a larger number of targets.
    • Targets are damaged in order of highest aggro.
    • Targets are healed in order of lowest percent health left.
  • Class Updates
    • Warrior
      • Whirlwind power: 90 -> 100
    • Dragonslayer
      • Final Descent power: 275 -> 310
    • Paladin
      • Holy Shield damage reduction 35% -> 25%
      • Divine Judgement power: 175 -> 200
    • Guardian
      • Guardian's Hope base power: 40 -> 55
    • Necromancer
      • Soul Transfer: Souls on kill 10 -> 15
      • Soul Siphon power: 70 -> 60 + Enhanced power: 90 -> 80
      • Grand Summon taunt duration: 5s -> 3.5s

UI Updates
By popular request the action bar is now bigger. But the bad news is there is less space for your chat window. But the good news is the chat window pops up above the bar to give you more space if it does not fit!

Android Users!
AdventureQuest 3D now requires you to be using at least Android 4.4 (Kit Kat). A very small number of players who are not using Android 4.4 or higher need to update your OS in order to play the new version of the game.

Support for new intro (ALMOST!?)
The new intro "DEATH'S LAIR" requires a few new features. Most are in this build, but we need to roll out at least one more early next week in order to release the new intro and begin AdventureQuest 3D's Main Storyline. So, as a little teaser to get you in the spirit, we updated the game's title screen with a special sneaky peak for you. Battle on!

Also happening this weekend!

Hey, everyone. We’ve got patch notes for you for the latest Pre-Release update. Since Pre-Release is work in progress, bugs are expected and we could really use your help testing. We appreciate any bug reports and feedback you send our way on the Pre-Release forum.

* If you’re not familiar with Pre-Release, it’s the unstable developer branch we use for testing new stuff. More info here.

Patch Notes [Pre-Release v0.6.3]
  • Creature Builder UX Improvements
    • Toolbars have been removed and all actions are now done by interacting directly with the Life Blocks themselves. No more swapping “tools” as you build! This makes it easier to get Life Blocks exactly where you want them and removes unnecessary complexity. (The UI was getting crowded!) A quick guide:

      • Add: Drag a Life Block from the tray on the left to your creature (Clicking to add will also be returning soon so you’ll be able to choose your favorite method when building.)
      • Rotate: Use the [R] key while dragging, or click a Life Block on your creature to select it and then click the rotate button that appears
      • Move: Click on a Life Block on your creature and drag it around wherever you want it. You can grab single blocks or whole groups.
      • Remove: Click on a Life Block on your creature to select it, then click the trash can or use the [Del] key. (The block is returned to your inventory in Adventure Mode.)
      • Camera focus: Now auto-focuses around the Life Block you have selected. No need to refocus manually.
    • Tell us what you think of the new system.
  • New Character & Crafting Journal panels in progress
    • New item inspection box lets you view stats and other useful info for items in various inventory and crafting panels
    • New crafting interface
      • Filter recipes using the icons on the left
      • See all the resources needed at a glance
      • Queueing added to workstations. Add up to 4 items so the station keeps working while you’re away (as long as your creature can handle the workload!)
      • Remember that some recipes require workstations to craft, even if you have all the resources. We’ll be adding this info to the UI soon.
    • Toolbox now replaces Crafting panel in Creative Mode for easy access to all items in the game
    • Character panel now includes a spot for some fun adventure stats. (They’re all 0 for now. We’ll be hooking these up in the future.)
    • More improvements coming as we work on this, including much-needed item stack functionality

Crafting tools and wooden structures at the Workbench.
  • New Creature Power & Tiers System
    • A new stat called Creature Power (CP) combines a creature’s stats, abilities, and level to give you an overall estimate of how powerful that creature is.
    • Compare CPs when you run across a creature in the wild or face a challenger in the Arena to see if the fight will be more evenly matched.
    • As you build a creature, keep an eye on the new stats breakdown to immediately see how each Life Block you add affects your creature.
      • As more stats and abilities are added to a creature, it moves into higher Build Tiers (replaces the old “build limit” system) and CP increases.
      • Stats are broken down and color-coded per category: health, energy, attack, defense, movement speed, range, abilities
      • This new stat breakdown UI helps you strategize your builds and decide what your creature’s strengths and weaknesses are within each Build Tier. You may have to trade speed for health, or a combat ability for a farming one, depending on the type of creature you’re trying to build.
      • The current bright rainbow stat breakdown will be made much prettier in the future. ;)
    • Build Tier limiting is currently disabled in Adventure Mode, meaning creature progression is unbalanced and you’ll be able to make very strong creatures early on in survival. This will be working in a future build.

The stats breakdowns of four different creatures. Stat breakdowns change depending the Life Blocks you build with.
  • 10 default creature combatants added to the Arena
    • These creatures are ready for battle so you can jump straight into Arena matches. Pit two of these creatures in the same tier against each other to see how they match up.
    • These span the tiers and have a range of abilities. They’re a great way to test out the new points and tiers systems before building your own creatures.
    • Find them in the Discovered tab

Choose two with similar CPs and see who wins!
  • Adventure Mode Updates
    • No more scene load between the temple and open world
    • Various visual improvements made to the terrain
    • Initial tutorial area size greatly reduced and quests have been removed for now in preparation for upcoming changes to the on-boarding/tutorial sequence
  • Creature Art Updates
    • Texturing improvements to dog, pig, crab, and elephant
    • Eye shaders fixed
    • Dog fur improvements
    • Bad normals/vertices on dog mouth fixed
    • Leg animation improvements
  • Creature data optimization
    • Creature data rewritten to reduce hitches and improve performance as creatures load in the world or when they are edited

Blazing Beaks - Applava

Hi,

Here's a new update where we concentrated on items and artefacts. In total 45 new items/artefacts were added, also we made that more of them including ones in the previous versions could be stacked and items would have different drop rates. Also the update introduces progression system where some items and artefacts can be unlocked under certain conditions. In previous versions items gave too much HP, increased weapon damage too much which disbalanced the whole run, especially when players advanced to further levels in the loops. All of that was the reason why a lot of balancing iterations were done and now the gameplay affected by items and artefacts should be more balanced.

More patch notes are listed below:

New
  • 18 new items.
  • 27 new artefacts.
  • Artefacts that were brought to the Crow can be dropped again in the same run.
  • Made a system where different items have different drop rates.
  • Made a system where objects can be locked, or dropped in specific areas or only in loops.

Changes
  • Much more previous items and artefacts now can be stacked.
  • Optimizations - made some small changes that the game would run a little bit better.
  • Edited Toxic Substance artefact description.
  • Edited Black Potato artefact description.
  • Edited Dagger of Betrayal artefact description.
  • Edited Grappling Hook artefact description.
  • Edited Screwdriver item description.
  • Edited Golden Award item description.
  • Edited Needle item description.
  • Edited Jar of Stardust item description.
  • Edited Bitter Herb item description.
  • Edited Love item description.
  • Changed text “unlocked” to “obtained” in Log.

Balance
  • Balanced overall gameplay that can be affected by items and artefacts.
  • Changed what Frying Pan item does. Now it adds +1 second of invincibility time instead of making it double.
  • Debuffed Deft Wings item making it increase reload speed and fire rate by 15% instead of 20%.
  • Metal detector item now increases chance to loot more coins by 50% instead of making it double.
  • Bayonet item now reduces weapon range by 10% instead of 20%.
  • Debuffed Screwdriver item making it reload speed and fire rate by 10% instead of 30%.

Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug where ghost could deal damage to the player when Teddy ability was activated.
  • Fixed a bug where ghost could deal damage when player teleported during the ghost attack phase.
  • Fixed a bug where hearts machine did not take max HP from Bluebird when 1 HP was left and Bluebird had more than 1 max HP.
  • Fixed a bug where Bogy boss projectiles were dealing damage to a player when Bubble ability was activated.
  • Fixed a bug where Pinky projectiles were dealing damage to a player when Bubble ability was activated.

Best regards,
Blazing Beaks Team
