- Players can now access the steam-overlay with a gamepad and type text with the new "DaisyWheel" in Big Picture mode.
- The SteamStore, Facebook and Twitter-buttons visible in all menus can now be navigated with a gamepad.
- An icon has been added to players in the pre-game lobby to illustrate what controller they use.

The Enhanced Edition contains Sword of the Stars II: The Lords of Winter and the first expansion, the End of Flesh. The new expansion introduces the new playable race, the Loa. All previous DLCs containing new avatars, new combat music, alternate voices, skins, and new badges for the warships are also included.

Additionally, all owners of the original Sword of the Stars II have been automatically upgraded to the Enhanced Edition!
