How was everyone’s Summer? Ours was good. We are making a lot of progress on our upcoming games. We’ve been able to grow a lot, and found a lot of new partners that wanted to join us. Kagura Games is not even a year old, and we’ve been really fortunate to have so much fan and community support. The growth of our new Official Discord has been proof of that. You guys are amazing!
Well, today, we’re introducing a new update to Claire. This will be Version 1.04. While we fixed a lot of bugs from Version 1.03 (grammatical errors, typos, and image errors), the biggest change we did will be felt by everyone. And they were done because of the introduction of Steam’s new tools last week.
While these new tools gave developers and publishers more freedom in releasing their games; there was a big drawback. In a sense, it might’ve been too good to be true. Basically, it wouldn’t allow Claire to be purchased by everyone (now or in the future), including our fans in China, Germany, and Russia. And without their support, it may not be possible for us to continue releasing games for our players in other countries as well. We care deeply about our fans, and we want everyone to have access to the game. So we’ve made the decision that would allow us to do that.
However, because of our decision, it will mean that everyone who had modded or patched their game must do so again. We’re really sorry for the inconvenience, but it was something we felt like we had to do so that everyone would continue to have access to the game.
We want to keep releasing games. We want everyone to continue to have access to our games. We hope you will understand why we did this, and that you will help us overcome this hardship together. The struggle to release our games on Steam will continue. The fight is not over. Because of that, we’d like to ask for everyone’s continued support.
It’s because of your support that I’d like to take this opportunity to make a couple game announcements:
Dungeon Town
Early next year, we’ll be releasing Dungeon Town by Circle Meimitei. This is arguably one of the best games ever created in this genre. We were very lucky that Nekomaka-san of Circle Meimitei trusted us with this title. Please keep this one on your radar!
Meltys Quest (Chinese Version)
In addition, our plan is to release the Chinese version of Meltys Quest next month! I’d like to apologize to everyone for the wait. There were a lot of issues with turning this into a Chinese game, and we wanted to make sure it was in perfect condition for the release. Please look forward to the game in October!
In regards to our current upcoming games, we’re planning to release 2 games every month for the next 3 months. We hope everyone will be ready :)
For now, your admins will be Yoko, Sinom, Candiru, and Pixelbane. They're four really awesome people that have so much passion for these games and what we do. Please be nice to them, and they'll be kind back! :)
Note: I'll try to chime in from time to time. But keep in mind that I'm going to be really busy with all our current and upcoming projects.
Just wanted to let you know that our Trading Cards were finally approved by Steam, and they're available right now! Please try to collect them all!
And thank you so much for supporting Treasure Hunter Claire! It really means a lot to us. We're still a small company, but we're working really hard so that these games can be played with the quality and care that these games, and our fans deserve. I hope you'll be able to see how much effort was put into this project. And I think most of you have...
So from Kagura Games and Acerola, thank you so much! You guys were amazing! I hope you'll continue to support us for our future games, which you can find here:
We've received reports from some of our players who are having display issues with fullscreen mode, a black screen, or with multiple displays. So here are some things to try if you are affected by this.
1) Try pressing F11, this allows you toggle between fullscreen and windowed modes.
2) Within the Game.ini file in the game's install folder, you can manually change the "WindowModeFlag" setting to 1, to enable windowed mode.
Additionally, while in windowed mode, you can press F4 to maximize the screen.
For those having issues running multiple displays, you can manually set which display to use within the Game.ini file, by changing the Display_Number setting. By default, this setting is set to 0, which will display the game on the active display at launch. (Where Steam is currently running usually.) You can simply change this number to whichever monitor you'd like to display from. (Example: Display_Number=1 for your primary monitor.)
Also, in the latest update, we've disabled F12 game reset. If you'd like to re-enable this feature, set the F12_Reset setting within the Game.ini to 1 within the game install folder.
In addition, if your F1 through F12 keys are not functioning, check if those keys need to be enabled by holding down your Fn key, and then pressing F4 or F11.
If you're experiencing a black screen, try installing the game on C Drive or a different drive.
For those playing with a native resolution below 1928 x 1080, try going to the Game.ini file and changing SoftModeFlag to 1.
Lilipalace, the spiritual prequel to the smash hit, LiliTales, is finally here! I’d like to thank the developer, Koyu-san of Tunnel No. 73 Galleries (73号坑道の鉱油), for creating this awesome game. And also for giving us, Kagura Games, the opportunity to co-publish the game with him. We’ve been very fortunate to have such an amazing partner in Koyu-san this early in our development. We couldn’t be more grateful. But we’re also grateful to our wonderful fans. The situation on Steam has been very tough for Koyu-san and us lately, but because of you guys always supporting us, we were able to bring and keep all our games on Steam, including Fallen, which was released earlier this year, and Treasure Hunter Claire, which will be released next week on July 20th. So thank you guys so much!
Anyway, please enjoy Lilipalace! And if you like Lilipalace or Treasure Hunter Claire, please feel free to try out our other game, Fallen.
And if you enjoyed Fallen, also check out our partners’ games coming out on July 6th and July 13th respectively; Mega Milk Story by Sugar Star and Citadel Translations, and Lilipalace by TUNNEL no.73 and us, Kagura Games:
We’re happy to launch the Steam Page for our 2nd game, Treasure Hunter Claire! After the success of our 1st game, Fallen ~Makina and the City of Ruins~, one of the first developers I thought of contacting was Acerola. They’ve always been known in the industry for high quality games. To be honest, I thought there was probably only a 1% chance that they would accept us. So I was pleasantly surprised when they came back to us with open arms. And since you guys, our fans, have been asking us for voice acting in our next games, everything worked out!
At Kagura Games, we’ve been really lucky to have such great partners and fans this early on in our development. I hope you will continue supporting us!
The game will be available in June of 2018! I’ll have an exact release date next month! Please look forward to it!
If you haven’t played our first game, Fallen, you can find it on Steam at the link below:
