We will be going down for a routine maintenance and will be having a game update. Hyper Universe will not be available to play during listed times below:
When:
Los Angeles (PST): 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM
New York (EST): 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Sao Paulo (BRST) 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
London (GMT) 14:00 - 17:00
What:
The following will be added-
New Hyper: Michelle
Hyper/Item balance changes
Rank Mode has been added, but will not be activated until the next maintenance.
Dragon Refuge will be added back into the in Regular Match rotation.
South America servers will be temporarily be disabled until further notice.
We are excited to introduce a few new changes in the v3.6 patch notes. See below for the full details:
Game Changes
Delta Station Beta
A new map called (Beta) Station will temporarily be added. Since this (Delta Station) beta map is still in its developmental stage, it will only be available when queued for a Regular match. Players will have a 50/50 chance of getting the new (Beta) Station map or the regular Delta Station match. Dragon Refuge will only be available through AI and Custom matches.
We have made the following changes:
Base and base defense turrets have been separated.
Defense turret has now moved in front of the base.
Spawning location is now on one floor. There’s no more ladders to climb.
The upper and lower areas from the defense turret have been expanded.
New Map:
Old Map:
We want you to give us your feedback on the map change and patch. We’ll have a forum thread up where you can do just that, located HERE for Steam and HERE for the Nexon Forums.
Dev Note: After analyzing the play patterns of Dragon’s Refuge, we found that the static attack pattern from the front was a major pain point for players. We have taken the information we gathered from Dragon's Refuge and combined it with Delta Station to make a new map, Beta Station. In order to make the last portion of the match more dynamic we made changes to Delta Station’s base area. You should now expect attacks on your final turret to come from above, below, left and right.
Match Penalties
Players will no longer be penalized when they disconnect and reconnect from an AI or Regular Match.
Skin Previews
Players will be able to preview Hypers and the new skins in full screen mode under the “Game Info” menu.
Surrender System
Added a Surrender System that lets the players surrender the match when it is difficult to win the match due to allied player disconnecting.
Surrender button will appear in the options menu after the 3 minute wait period.
Surrender Vote activates 3 minutes after an ally prematurely leaves the match.
Even if another player leaves or the initial player(s) come back into the match after the first disconnect, the vote will appear 3 minutes after the first disconnect.
Surrender vote is only active for 20 seconds. If the vote is not decided within the 20 seconds then the surrender is automatically voted down.
The match is surrendered only if all players vote in favor of it on the team.
The vote of an AI or the person that left the match early will always count as “for surrender” instead of “against”.
If the surrender vote is not passed then another vote can be cast in 3 minutes.
Gold Acquisition Change
In order to give more advantages to the Hypers who participate in active hunting and battles we are adjusting rules for gold acquisition.
Lane Minions – 80% gold bonus to the Hyper that does the final damage.
Jungle Monsters – 40% gold bonus to the Hyper that does the final damage.
Hyper – 50% extra gold to the player that does the final damage on an enemy Hyper.
Hyper – 20% extra gold to the player(s) that assist in the kill on an enemy Hyper.
Final damage: The last damage the minion/monster/Hyper takes before it dies.
Cube System Changes
We understand that the previous cube system was a large pain point for many players. We have taken your feedback about the system and made some huge changes that we believe will alleviate many of your concerns.
The Cube System has now been adjusted so that you can create the samples you want using your Bits in the new Synthesis system.
Sample Cost: 6 bits and 150GP
Select the skin that you wish to create samples for:
Select how many of the samples you would like:
The samples are then created and added to your inventory:
Hyper Balance Changes
Victoria
Divine Blessing -
Previous: Duration 10 sec
Changed: Duration 6 sec
Sinner's Prayer -
Previous: For ally Hypers excluding Victoria, Defense +12 (up to 30). Damage to Victoria from enemies -15%
Changed: For ally Hypers excluding Victoria, Defense 11 (up to 20). Damage to Victoria from enemies -10%
Blessed Heal -
Changed: HP restoration decreased by 20%
Redemption -
Changed: Cooldown only affected by Unique Equipment
Dev Note: Currently, Victoria has the highest victory rate out of all the Hypers. This is because her skill efficiency is too high compared to other Hypers. Therefore, her overall skill cooldowns have been raised and her healing reduced.
SignalRegular Attack -
Previous: Attack factor 0.65
Changed: Attack factor 0.6
Plasma Repeater -
Previous: Can fire up to 3 seconds when you continue to press the skill key
Changed: Can fire up to 2.3 seconds when you continue to press the skill key
Target Scan -
Previous: Give the following effects for 6 sec [Defense 10+(Skill level x1) decreased]
Changed: Give the following effects for 5 sec [Defense 5+(Skill level x1) decreased]
Evasive Action -
Previous: Cooldown 13 sec
Changed: Movement distance -20%, Cooldown 16 sec
Dev Note: Signal is a Hyper that has some of the most stable DPS and sustains high firepower in any phase of a match. In fact, when looking at all factors relating to damage, victory rate, KDA and others they are significantly higher than for other Strikers. Therefore, we decreased Signal's overall skill options and values.
Pinky
Cootie Beam -
Previous: Stunned effect for 1.2 sec upon 3 stacks
Changed: Damage -20%, stunned effect for 0.8 sec upon 3 stacks
Boo-boo Ball -
Changed: damage decreased roughly by 20%
Dev Note: Pinky is a support who helps her allies greatly by using various skills. However, currently she is stronger than we intended during laning phases and in group fights. Therefore, we decreased some of Pinky's attack skill damage.
Yuna
Plasma Cutter -
Previous: Fixed Damage (5% of Max Health) every time you do damage to enemies, enemy Max Health -15% for 3 sec, can occur once every 7 sec
Changed: Fixed Damage (4% of Max Health) every time you do damage to enemies, enemy Max Health -15% for 2 sec, can occur once every 10 sec
Dev Note: Yuna is excellent in both combat and jungling due to the 'Plasma Cutter' skill's lasting effect even when having equipped tanky builds. As a result, we have slightly lowered the value of 'Plasma Cutter'.
Jack
Dice Roller -
Changed: Attack +1% based on dice number, attack +1.5% when dice number is 6
Roll the Bones -
Changed: Attack +1% based on dice number, attack +1.5% when dice number is 6
Dev Note: Currently, Jack is one of the lowest picked Strikers. Since we want Jack to be a more considered pick, we added a new option to the skill ‘Dice Roller' and upgraded some of his equipment. Additionally, we fixed the error where the Attack Speed wasn't being properly applied when the dice number was 6.
Tooth and Tops
Spearfishing -
Changed: damage increased by 20%
Twice as Loud -
Previous: Attack +3%, Defense +3% based on number of enemies that received shout damage for 4.5 seconds.
Changed: Attack +3%, Defense +4% based on number of enemies that received shout damage for 4.5 seconds.
Dev Note: Currently, Tooth and Tops has the highest death count average of all the Hypers.
We have adjusted his skills so that he can better withstand the enemy's firepower. We have also upgraded his equipment so that he can use 'Double Crush' without being interrupted.
Equipment Balance Changes
Electroshock Protector

Previous: Cooldown 7 sec
Changed: Cooldown 9 sec

Everyone’s favorite Martial Artist superstar is joining the fight for the Hyper Universe! Liu is a fast moving, hard hitting flurry of kicks and punches and is sure to shake things up when he drops into Hyper Universe.
Skill Overview:
Nunchuk Rush (A)
A swing of his Nunchuks 3 times at your enemy, doing increased damage on the last hit.
Rabbit Sweep (Q)
A low kick to do damage to enemies within range and down them.
Flowing Kick (W)
A leap forward with a powerful kick that does damage to all Hypers in his path. If Hypers have been hit with Master’s Challenge then they will also be stunned for a short duration.
Master’s Challenge (E)
Provokes enemies within 1200 units granting him an attack and defense buff against those Hypers as well as lowering the attack of the affected Hypers.
Dragon Flip (R)
A kickflip that will damage and stun enemies hit by it followed by a second flip that will launch and damage any enemy in range. This skill can be cancelled into Flowing Kick.
Using Liu’s Skills Effectively
Liu is a quick attack assassin through and through. He gets into a situation quickly and annihilates a target and then gets out. You will want to use Master’s Challenge before charging in whenever possible as all enemies hit by it suffer doing 50% less damage to Liu for the duration. Closing the gap on opponents is easy with Flowing Kick. This will let you close the gap and do damage to everyone hit. Once in close you can immediately use Dragon Flip which will reset the cooldown of Flowing Kick to be used again for extra damage or a quick escape. You can follow it up with Rabbit Sweep if they are still alive and buy yourself time to lay down some auto attack and Nunchuk Rush damage.
As with many Assassins Liu benefits greatly from an increased crit and crit damage build. You want to focus on big, powerful, high damage hits. Items like the Dragon’s Bane and Assassin’s Katar will do wonders for you. Also keep in mind that you may have to hunt down low health Hypers from time to time and the Katar will do increased damage to those stragglers. As always, many of the unique items add both damage and utility to his build, so get out there and experiment!
Not sure what to build? As always, you can hop into our Discord to discuss itemization with other players.
You can hop into the battlefield with Liu for a mere 15,000 GP or use a Hyper Coupon, which you can earn by leveling up and playing games.
