Greetings Adventurers,

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on June 29, 2022 (Wed).

Tier 5 Pets

The Adventurer's faithful companions can now be trained to Tier 5 and also be appointed as Alpha Pets.
You can now train Tier 4 pets up to Tier 5 pets, who will also gain the ability to be appointed as Alpha Pets.

Alpha Pets will keep other pets in your pack in line to make sure they will all work together to aid you in your adventures.
The Alpha Pet's Talent will increase by 1 additional level, and their "Pack Leader" skill will increase the looting speed of all of your other pets nearby.

You can only appoint one Tier 5 pet as the alpha, and any other Tier 5 pets checked out will display the same stats as other Tier 4 pets.

We originally designed the Tier 5 pets to boast a greater variety of skills or effects, akin to an upgraded Tier 4 pet, so to speak.
However, we felt that the process to "upgrade" to a Tier 5 pet would prove too taxing on our Adventurers, so we decided to change the focus to increasing the pet looting speeds.

We bid you happy adventuring with your cute pets and their alpha pack leader.

● Added Tier 5 Pet Training and Alpha Pets.
- You can now train Tier 4 pets into Tier 5 pets.
- Tier 5 pets gain the ability to be appointed as Alpha Pets by the Adventurer.
- An Alpha Pet's Talent will increase by 1 additional level, and their "Pack Leader" skill will increase the looting speed of all active pets nearby.

Tier 5 Pet Training Questline

● You can now train Lv. 10 Tier 4 pets to Tier 5 through Obi Bellen at the Old Wisdom Tree in Kamasylvia.
- Summon the Black Spirit (,) to accept the "[Pet] Domesticated Squabbles" quest. Complete it to unlock the "Tier 5 Pet Training" button through Obi Bellen.
* You can start this quest from Lv. 50 via the Black Spirit (,) and can check your progress through Quests (O) - Suggested tab.
* Make sure you've ticked [Life] quests under Quest Type if you cannot see the quests.

Tier 5 Pet Training

● Training a Tier 5 pet requires one "Royal Plume." You can craft one via Simple Alchemy (L).

* You can purchase "Growth Reagents" from Old Moon shops for 60 million Silver each.

● Once you acquire a Royal Plume and have your Lv. 10 Tier 4 pet checked in, you will be able to train a Tier 5 pet through Obi Bellen.
- Tier 5 pet training will always succeed.
- Tier 5 pets do not gain a special appearance or skill. (You can still use Pet Appearance Change Coupons.)

Alpha Pets

● You can appoint one of your Tier 5 pets as the Alpha Pet through the pet window.
- You can appoint a Tier 5 pet that is checked in as your alpha by pressing the crown-shaped icon.

- Alpha Pets grant the following effects when checked out.
* Pack Leader: Loot cooldown -15% for active pets
* Talent Lv. +1: The Alpha Pet's Talent gains one additional level.
* e.g.) Combat EXP +4% → +5% / HP +100 → +125
* Special skills (Fishing cooldown reduced, gathering amount increase, etc.) are not affected.
- Tier 5 pets who have not been appointed as alpha will retain the same stats as a Tier 4 pet.
* Tier 5 pets cannot be exchanged with any other pets after training is complete.
* Make sure to change a pet's appearance or skills via Exchange before attempting the Tier 5 Pet Training.

Blacksmith Function Improvements

The Dwarven artisans of Gavinya Great Crater have developed a new and improved way to repair and extract items.

The newly improved functions have been spreading across the continent, far and wide, from stable keepers to even the campsites.

Now Adventurers will only need to press the "repair" button once to repair any and every item that is in need of repair, and the means of extracting outfits have also been improved.

Before using the "Select All" button and extracting from outfits, please make sure you've locked any outfit/costume appearances you do not wish to accidentally extract and destroy.

● Improved the repair function.
- You can now repair all items (equipped, in your inventory, horse gear, ship gear, guild gear) with one button press.
- You can pick and choose which criteria to repair via the cogwheel-shaped settings button on the side.

● Added the function to lock outfit/costume appearances to prevent extraction.
- Press SHIFT + RMB on any outfit/costume appearance you wish to lock in your inventory (I) - Pearl tab.
- Locked outfit/costume appearances will not appear in the list for the Extract Outfit window, thus lessening the risk of accidentally extracting them.
* You can upload and save locked outfit/costume appearance data.

● Added the "Select All" button to the Extract Outfit window.
- Press the "Select All" button in the Extract Outfit window to immediately select all extractable outfit/costume appearances.
- Improved the Extractable Items list to now display the amount of Valks' Cry or Cron Stones extractable from each item.
- Improved the Extractable Items list to now display items in alphabetical order.
- Added text explaining how to lock outfit/costume appearances to Pearl Shop item descriptions.
* Use the "Pearl Outfit Lock" function to prevent accidentally extracting your precious outfit/costume appearances.

Marni's Instruments and Florchestra Contrabass

The Florchestra Contrabass, named after the instructor of the famous maestro, Artina the "Wandering Musician," is now available. In addition, Marni's Instruments, invented by the infamous "mad" scientist, have also been discovered. 4 different types of Marnians and the Marnibass are available, ready to produce mystical sounds never heard before in the world of Black Desert.

Many of our musically-inclined Adventurers have composed wonderful music with their Beginner/Florchestra instruments thus far. We hope the new additions of the Florchestra Contrabass and Marni's Instruments will inspire both [I'm a Producer UwU] and novice Adventurers alike to create compositions that aren't just exciting but also express sounds in greater detail and volume.

The mysterious Marnians are aptly named (Wavy Planet, Illusion Tree, Secret Note, and Sandwich), each capable of producing 4 unique sounds for a total of 16 different styles. With such a variety of possible sounds, each time you compose a new music score it can feel as though you’re composing a brand new song.

Florchestra Contrabass

● Rumors abound of Artina, Florchestra's apprentice, having discovered a blueprint for a new instrument.
- According to said rumors, the instrument is said to play a low tone that resonates deep within one's soul.
- You can craft this instrument of Florchestra through Manufacture (L) and completing the quest that rewards you with the Dewdrop of Soil's Soliloquy.

- You can purchase the blueprint for the Florchestra Contrabass from Artina's instrument shop located in Lake Kaia, Lake Flondor, Salanar Pond, and Ancado Inner Harbor.
- Right click the Contrabass blueprint to be guided to Artina at Lake Kaia who will help you obtain the Dewdrop of Soil's Soliloquy to craft the instrument.
- You can accept the following daily quest to obtain the Dewdrop of Soil's Soliloquy by having the blueprint in your inventory.

Marni's Instruments

● There are have been recent rumblings of Shais within the world inside the Vitclari dreaming of new dreams. They say this may be a chance to experience a sound never heard before.
● You can craft Marni's Instruments via Manufacture (L) with the relevant "Tremor Converticator" obtained through a quest.
● You will first need to complete a prerequisite questline available once per Family via the "Music Score: Genius of Keplan" purchased from Artina.
● Marni's Instruments can be obtained as follows:
- Purchase the "Music Score: Genius of Keplan" from Artina, then complete the prerequisite questline (Lake Kaia).
- Complete the questline to unlock Marni's shop (Tori Woods, Mountain of Eternal Winter).
- Purchase blueprints for the instruments from Marni's shop.
- Accept the daily quest from Marni to obtain the required crafting materials for each instrument.
- You must complete the relevant daily quest or purchase the appropriate Tremor Converticators to craft Marni's Instruments.
* You must toggle on [Life] quest types to be able to accept these daily quests.
* You can proceed with all 5 Marni's Instrument quests if you possess all 5 different blueprints in your inventory.

● Can be obtained as Tremor Converticator daily quests rewards or purchased from Marni Shop with Silver.
- 5 Tremor Converticator Daily Quests can be all done in the same day.

● Complete the entire Marni's Instruments knowledge category to obtain the [Marni's Wings] title.

● Obtain both "Wings of Florchestra" and "Marni's Wings" titles to obtain the "Musician" title through the Black Spirit.

Item

● Added the new item "Heart of Kutum," which contains the might of Thundercloud Kutum.

- The Heart of Kutum is used to upgrade sub-weapons. The upgraded sub-weapons will gain the "Earthshaking" prefix.
- "Earthshaking" sub-weapons gain the "Special Attack Evasion Rate +7%" effect.
- The Heart of Kutum is dropped as loot by Thundercloud Kutum according to a set probability.
- "Fiery" sub-weapons cannot be upgraded further with the Heart of Kutum.
- You can use the Mirror of Equilibrium via blacksmiths in each of the towns and cities to extract the Heart of Kutum from "Earthshaking" sub-weapons.
* With the addition of the Earthshaking sub-weapons, the Old Moon Guild manager Jetina has new quests, "Old Moon's Resplendent Sub-weapon: Earthshaking Sub-weapons" and "Old Moon's Brilliant Sub-weapon: PEN (V) Earthshaking Sub-weapons" to exchange them.

● Increased the duration of the item "Kutum's Power Stone" and added the effect "Item Drop Rate +5%."

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on June 22, 2022 (Wed).

Great Ocean Zones and Ship Upgrade Revamp

The revamps to Great Ocean monster zones and ship upgrade methods introduced in the GM note are now here.
First, we're improving the loot and drop rates in Great Ocean monster zones. We wanted to add more zones with unique traits for our Adventurers to choose from just as we did to the monster zones on land.
We also adjusted the difficulty of Saltwater Crocodile monster zones to be available for solo Adventurers, but will maintain loot dropping for up to two party members as before.

To make Great Ocean content more accessible to a greater number of Adventurers, we applied a revamp to the means of upgrading ships as well.
Certain zones will now drop Verdant Black Stones, certain region quests will reward a bunch of Sea Monster's Ooze, and new recipes for Adhesive for Upgrade have been added as well.
We will continue to look for making quality of life improvements so many more Adventurers will easily be able to access more Great Ocean content.

We'd like to thank all of our Adventurers who love sailing the high seas of Black Desert.

● Increased the drop rates and amount of loot obtained from defeating the following Great Ocean monsters.

● Changed the following monster zones to now bear unique traits with the adjustments made to loot reward types and drop chance.

● Adjusted the Agris Fever Points consumed when defeating the following Great Ocean monsters with the adjustments to junk loot.

● Adjusted the difficulty for the Saltwater Crocodile Habitat from Party of 2 to now be soloable.- The health of Saltwater Crocodiles has been reduced by 40% accordingly.- The loot drops remain same as before if attempted with a party of 2.
● Increased the Combat and Sailing EXP gains for your character and EXP gains for your Sailors when defeating [Outlaw of the Vadabin Sea], [Main Fleet], and normal Goldmont Small, Medium, and Large Battleships.
● Added an item that drops from defeating Sea Monsters
- Ferocious Sea Monster's Spirit Pouch: Vendor loot affected by Agris Fever and Item Collection Increase Gauge.

- Sea Monster's Bizarre Fang: Drops at a low rate from defeating certain Sea Monsters. Can be exchanged for the following items from [Crow Coin Exchange] and [Trade Goods Exchange] NPCs.* Sea Monster's Bizarre Fang x1 → Blue Whale Oil
* Sea Monster's Bizarre Fang x1 → Blue Whale Tendon

● Added region quests in the Arsha Sea near Iliya Island and Nox Sea near Lema Island to obtain Sea Monster's Ooze.

● Added 3 new Heating recipes to craft Adhesive for Upgrade used to upgrade Epheria Caravel and Galleass.
- Sea Monster's Ooze x1 and White Cedar Sap x300
- Sea Monster's Ooze x1 and Acacia Sap x300
- Sea Monster's Ooze x1 and Elder Tree Sap x300
* The previous recipe involved Sea Monster's Ooze x1, White Cedar Sap x100, Acacia Sap x100, and Elder Tree Sap x100

● Adjusted the materials required for upgrading Epheria Caravel and Galleass.
- You will now need 4 Seaweed Stalk to upgrade a Caravel (previously 6).
- You will now need 3 Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square to upgrade a Galleass (previously 6).

Contents

● Improved the summoning method and loot dropped from using the Manshaum Narc's Stone as follows:
- You can now use 5 Manshaum Narc's Stone to summon an empowered boss with a party.
- You can activate the "Faded Ancient Relic" summoning device that has appeared in the northern Lemoria Beacon Towers.
* You also simply summon by pressing RMB on the scroll as before.

* Obtainable Loot

- The following changes have been applied to Narc Brishka and Voraro who are summoned from the Manshaum Narc's Stone.
* Narc Brishka's health increased by approx. 140%.
* Narc Brishka's DP reduced by approx. 11%.
* Narc Brishka's AP increased by approx. 80%.
* Narc Brishka's shield's health increased by approx. 940%.
* Voraro's health increased by approx. 90%.
* Voraro's DP reduced by approx. 11%.
* Voraro's AP increased by approx. 60%.
* Narc Brishka and Voraro will no longer be affected by debuff effects.

Item

As we mentioned in the GM note, we're implementing a bunch of changes such as reducing the weight of Imperial Delivery boxes, improving the Item Recover function, etc.
We're thankful for all of our Adventurers and their constant feedback, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts on these new additions as well.

● Changed the weight of the following cooking and alchemy boxes used for Imperial Delivery to 10LT:

We're adding new Alchemy recipes for crafting Purified Lightstones
These new recipes use Magical Lightstone Crystals instead of Black Gem Fragments. You can exchange Imperfect Lightstones or Lightstones you no longer need for Magical Lightstone Crystals with a character of at least Alchemy Guru 1 through Dalishain the Wandering Alchemist.

● Added new Alchemy recipes to craft Purified Lightstones.

- Added a new exchange with the Wandering Alchemist Dalishain. Characters that have Alchemy Guru 1 or higher can hand over lightstones to receive "Magical Lightstone Crystal," which is to perform the newly added alchemical formulas.

Monster

We are making adjustments to the Gyfin Rhasia Temple Underground loot drop rates.
The drop rates of items such as Forest Fury, Elkarr, and others was reduced. The drop rate of Caphras Stones was increased and we added the Destruction Spirit Stone to be dropped here.
These change were not made to lower the drop rates in Gyfin Rhasia Temple Underground. The main focus of these changes was to adjust the value of certain loot across all the monster zones.

● Made the following changes to the Gyfin Rhasia Temple Underground:
- Increased the drop rate of Caphras Stones by approximately 15%.
- Added "Destruction Spirit Stone" to drop in this monster zone.
- Added "Trace of Memory" to drop in this monster zone.
- Reduced Elkarr drop rate by approximately 75%.
- Reduced Krogdalo's Origin Stone drop rate by approximately 85%.
- Reduced Forest Fury drop rate by approximately 69%.
- Reduced Swaying Wind Shard drop rate by approximately 52%.
- Reduced Pure Forest Breath drop rate by approximately 69%.

Mount

We originally made the ability to use certain skills while auto-running on a mount available to Adventurers with high enough mastery in Training. Considering how much more difficult it is to level Training compared to other Life Skills, we had initially set the bar to "at least Artisan 1," but found that not as many Adventurers were using this ability. With the hopes that many more Adventurers will enjoy this ability, we decided to lower the requirement to "at least Professional 1."

● Lowered the requirement to use the function which automatically used certain skills while auto-moving on mounts.

Quest

We've added some side quests for world-building purposes.
We plan on adding more quests like these where you, the Adventurer, will be helping out random NPCs, both changing the in-game world for the better as you get a better understanding of said NPCs, thereby breathing new life into the immersive world of Black Desert.

● Added several new side quests in the world of Black Desert.
- A child with a beautiful voice is afraid to sing before others in the streets of Calpheon.
- A soldier stationed at Trina Fort is exhausted by the ongoing war.
- Cries for aid can be heard from the Falres Dirt Farm and Bain Farmland in Calpheon.
- A bounty hunter at the Dancing Marlin Tavern near Velia wharf has a strange tale to share.
- Constante, innkeeper at the Golden Toad Inn, has a tale to share about a familiar face from Balenos. (Available if you've completed [Balenos] [Crossroad] The Aged Chief's Last Gift)
- A merchant who's left for the Ibellab Oasis has yet to return to Valencia.
- Benns Joanna of the Lamute Gang has a tale of a unique friendship on the isle of Papua Crinea.

System

Changed the requirement of the notification popping up at the top of the screen as previously mentioned in the GM notes. Previously, the notification displayed when a green item or higher was obtained. We have changed the requirement to only displaying for blue items or higher so the notification is more useful.
In the past, obtaining Black Stones was a worthy feat, but as it’s become easier to attain them, we have adjusted notifications not to display for them even though they are a red grade item.

● Changed the requirements for obtained items to appear at the top of the screen as system notifications as follows:
- Improved the system alert displayed when obtaining items from crafting, dismantling, treasure chests, looting, gathering, quests, and talking with NPCs to now only appear for obtaining items of blue grade or higher
* Only notifications for blue grade or higher items that can be registered to the Center Market will show.
* Black Stones and some items didn't show the notifications regardless of item grades.
● Changed so that cheer motion doesn't activate when obtaining Black Gem.

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on June 15, 2022 (Wed).

Balenos Main Questline Renewal

The Balenos main questline, which includes Velia, the hometown of many Adventurers, has undergone a renewal. We've added fully-voiced cutscenes, a graphical makeover for the major NPCs, reorganized the quest pathing, all for the sake of improving our focus on storytelling. We hope this renewal will help our new Adventurers better understand the world of Black Desert, and our veteran Adventurers enjoy a fresh, updated look to the Balenos main questline.
We believe updating existing content to be as important as adding new content, and we will strive to continue with improving the game.

● Renewed the Balenos Main Questline with fully-voiced cutscenes and a storyline that better fleshes out the NPCs and their relationships with each other.
- After the opening tutorial with Illezra in the desert ends, choose [Ancient Stone Chamber] instead of [Mountain of Eternal Winter] when prompted to begin this main questline.
* Characters who chose to start in the [Mountain of Eternal Winter] must complete the "Everfrost main questline," "Sights of Mediah questline," "Succession/Awakening (Drakania only requires Succession) and skill preset questlines" to begin this questline.
- You can find the requirements of this questline under "[Balenos] Breaker of Chains" in Quests (O) - Main tab.
- Due to the renewal, certain Knowledge entries have been modified while others have been added for the Balenos territory.
- The Balenos main questline renewal consists of 3 branching stories.
- Completing the renewed Balenos main questline will increase your Amity with the relevant Quest NPCs.
- The renewed Balenos main questline has several Crossroad quests added which will determine the final outcome of the questline.

* Adventurers who have already started the pre-renewal Balenos main questline cannot begin the renewed main questline.
* Season characters who've completed "[Pet] Bareeds' Junaid" will need to complete "[Balenos] Dark Clouds Over Velia" to be able to select the simplified questline.
* Lv. 1 characters who were already created before this update will need to forfeit all quests, excluding Family quests, in order to begin with the renewed Balenos main questline.

● Added a tutorial focused on storytelling for new characters.
- This prologue tutorial has your newly created Lv. 1 character traverse the desert sands with Illezra, and can be skipped by your Family if you've completed the entire tutorial at least once.
* Newly created Lv. 1 characters have had their quest list reset for the sake of proceeding with the tutorial.
* The tutorial does not offer gamepad mode at this time and will be added in a later update.

Elvia Realm in Calpheon

Elvia Calpheon invades the live servers today.
There, you will be able to face the even more powerful Saunil, Rhutum, Giants, Hexe Skeletons, and Trolls.
Each of the old and familiar monster zones were given unique and interesting mechanic due to the "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" and the Rift of Despair at its center.
The mechanics that can increase your efficiency are listed below, so be sure to take note of them.

Elvia Calpheon will drop materials required to obtain the new "Godr-Ayed" weapons and their enhancement materials. It also drops new loot items required to upgrade alchemy stones as well. We hope this will become a new challenge that our Adventurers will eagerly charge in to take on.

● Hadum, the God of Despair, who spread her corruption upon Serendia, has raised the cursed Black Sun bursting with destructive energies over the skies of Calpheon.
- With Calpheon corrupted by the Elvia Realm, its ecology has begun to distort.
- Saunil Camp, Rhutum Outstation, Gehaku Plain, Hexe Sanctuary, and Quint Hill have fallen to the corruption, as Hadum-infested monsters now appear in these zones.
- During combat, the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon can occur in Elvia Calpheon, which will alter the weather and affect which Shadow of Nightmares monster will spawn.
- You can loot materials for exchanging/enhancing the Godr-Ayed weapon and upgrading alchemy stones in Elvia Calpheon.
- You can loot the "Ancient Spirit Light" item from monsters, and upon purifying Rifts of Despair with it will grant you a powerful buff.

The Elvia Distortion Phenomenon

● "Rifts of Despair" have begun to tear open throughout Elvia Calpheon, causing occurrences of the so-called "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" wherever they appear.
● Defeating monsters near a "Rift of Despair" has a low chance to cause the "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" to occur.
● The "Elvia Distortion Phenomenon" will spawn a powerful boss monster and change the weather.
- If lightning begins to strike, Gigagord will appear with its minions.
- If icy winds begin to blow, a Cyclops boss monster will appear.
- If a meteor falls from the sky, an Ogre boss monster will appear.

● When the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon occurs, defeating the following monsters will apply damage and DP reduction debuffs to the Elvia Calpheon boss monsters.
- Saunil Camp: Saunil Siege Captain, Saunil Commander, Saunil Siege Tower
- Rhutum Outstation: Glorious Rhutums, Rhutum Tower, Grand Rhutum Chief
- Primal Giant Post: Giant Fighter, Gehaku
- Hexe Sanctuary: Green Orc Skeleton Warrior, Skeleton Witmirth, Hexe Marie
- Quint Hill: Ancient Troll
● Defeat the bosses of the Elvia Distortion Phenomenon to receive the "Corrupting Darkness" buff and "Remnants of Darkness" debuff.
- Corrupting Darkness: Significantly increases damage dealt to Elvia Calpheon monsters (for 5 minutes)
- Remnants of Darkness: Cannot obtain the Corrupting Darkness buff with this debuff (lasts for 30 minutes)

Ancient Spirit Light

● Defeating monsters in Elvia Calpheon has a low chance to drop the "Ancient Spirit Light" item, which can be used to purify Rifts of Despair.
- Using the Ancient Spirit Light near a Rift of Despair will grant the "Blessing of the Ancient Spirits" buff, which greatly increases your damage for 5 minutes.
* Blessing of the Ancient Spirits: Significantly increases damage dealt to Elvia Calpheon monsters during the buff duration
- The Ancient Spirit Light item will last for 6 hours once looted and will disappear once the duration is over.
- Using the Ancient Spirit Light without a Rift of Despair nearby will not grant any buff.
- The Corrupting Darkness buff cannot stack with the Blessing of the Ancient Spirits.

Elvia Calpheon Monster Zones

Defeat Hadum-infested Saunils and the Saunils will charge with siege towers to take down the flags of Calpheon.

Defeat the Saunil Siege Towers and enraged Saunil soldiers will rush in to attack Adventurers and Calpheon's soldiers.

Defeat all of the enraged Saunils to obtain a buff near the flag that greatly increases your damage.

Defeat all the Glorious Rhutum guarding the Rhutum flag and Rhutum warriors will rush in.
Defeat all the Rhutum warriors and the Rhutum will retreat after burning the supply boxes. Destroy these boxes before they burn down to obtain their loot.

- Defeat the Hexe undead and "Soul of the Dead" will appear where they fall. Soul Harvester Skeleton Witmirth will collect these souls.
- You cannot attack Skeleton Witmirth if it hasn't harvested enough souls.
- Once Soul Harvester Skeleton Witmirth has harvested enough "Souls of the Dead," it will crave the soul of Adventurers and attack.

Souls harvested by the Soul Harvester Skeleton Witmirth will summon forth even more undead.
- Defeat Unstable Soul Green Orc Skeleton Warriors and their souls will explode to deal much damage to undead nearby.

Once enough deathly energy has gathered, Hexe Marie will appear herself to mercilessly attack Adventurers.

- "Hexe Marie" will demand "Skeleton Soldiers" nearby to sacrifice themselves for her.
- The souls of these "Skeleton Soldiers" will explode to show their devotion.
- These explosions will deal powerful damage to Adventurers and undead alike.

Once an Ancient Troll's HP goes below a certain point, it will unleash its HP to charge its Stamina. Petrified Trolls nearby hit by this burst will awaken. Awakened Ancient Trolls will also gain a powerful DP buff for a short time immediately after their resurrection.

Sealed Troll Shamans remain dormant but if destroyed, will petrify all Trolls nearby, applying a DP Reduction debuff as well.
* Once risen, Ancient Trolls will not return to a petrified state, but a paralyzed one.

● Added new materials which drop from all monster zones in Elvia Calpheon.
- Scorching Sun Shard: material used to craft Scorching Sun Crystal (for exchanging Godr-Ayed weapons) and Scorching Sun Gemstone (for enhancing Godr-Ayed weapons).

- Crystalized Despair: material used to craft "Blessed Soul Fragment" for upgrading alchemy stones.

- Corrupted Breath: material processed via Simple Alchemy with "Frenzy Draught" to make "Frenzy Draught of Corruption."

Godr-Ayed Weapons / Alchemy Stone Upgrade

The "Godr-Ayed Weapons" were added with the introduction of Calpheon Elvia. Godr-Ayed weapons are a different version of the pre-existing Blackstar weapons designed to break down the progression of the TET (IV) to PEN (V) Blackstar journey into smaller steps so that Adventurers can continue to improve.

Godr-Ayed weapons can be obtained by converting TET (IV) Blackstar weapons. However, in order to convert your Blackstar weapon, you must have the "Scorching Sun Crystal," which is dropped as loot in Calpheon Elvia.

Godr-Ayed weapons can be enhanced 5 levels, each level will improve its stats. The "Scorching Sun Gemstone" is required to attempt to enhance the weapon. The gemstone can be made with the "Scorching Sun Shard" that drops as loot in Calpheon Elvia.

As the enhancement levels were divided into 5 levels, each attempt will be easier to accomplish than the PEN (V) Blackstar attempt. However, the amount of Silver required to make it into PEN (V) will be similar to attaining a PEN (V) Blackstar.
* We have increased the maximum price of the PEN (V) Blackstar weapons on the Central Market in order to maintain its value.

We have received so much feedback from our Adventurers after the Dev Commentary we posted on May 26. There was an especially high interest about the Godr-Ayed weapons. So, we would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone that took the time to give us feedback.

As PEN (V) Blackstar Weapons are currently one of the highest-tier items in Black Desert, we do not have any plans to introduce a "guaranteed upgrade" path for them. For Adventurers who've already faced great difficulty in obtaining the PEN (V) Blackstar Weapons, we believe Godr-Ayed is the "bare minimum mechanism" for them.

We will strive to contemplate on the future direction of Black Desert to become the best it can be.

● Added Godr-Ayed main weapons and awakening weapons.
- You can obtain Godr-Ayed weapons by converting a TET (IV) Blackstar weapon.
- Godr-Ayed weapons can be registered and purchased at each of its enhancement levels on the Central Market.
- Godr-Ayed weapons have five enhancement levels. It starts from +0 and go up to PEN (V). (+0 → PRI (I) → DUO (II) → TRI (III) → TET (IV) → PEN (V) )
* Godr-Ayed weapons do not drop an enhancement level when failing PRI (I) → DUO (II) enhancement attempts.
- The materials required to convert and enhance Godr-Ayed weapons drop as loot in Elvia Calpheon.

Godr-Ayed Weapon Conversion

● Added the "[Godr-Ayed Weapon] Merindora's Calling" quest where you can convert TET (IV) Blackstar main weapons and awakening weapons into Godr-Ayed weapons.
- You can accept this quest from the Black Spirit (/) by having a TET (IV) Blackstar main weapons and awakening weapons in your Inventory.
- You can then proceed with the quest via Merindora, the Eldest Spirit in the capital city of Grána. You will need to hand over "Scorching Sun Crystal" and a TET (IV) Blackstar weapon to get a sealed Godr-Ayed weapon.
* "Scorching Sun Crystals" can be made by gathering "Scorching Sun Shards" that drop in Elvia Calpheon as loot.
* Item Copy and branding will be removed from the Blackstar weapon used to convert to a Godr-Ayed weapon.
* Additionally, Blackstar weapons copied via Item Copy system cannot be used in the quest to convert into Godr-Ayed weapons.

Godr-Ayed Weapon Enhancement

● Added "Scorching Sun Gemstones" that are used to enhance Godr-Ayed weapons.
- Scorching Sun Gemstones can be made by Heating (L) "Scorching Sun Shards" (which drops as loot in Elvia Calpheon) with "Flawless Magical Black Stones."
- Godr-Ayed weapons lose 10 max durability for each failed enhancement attempt.

- You can Polish/Grow upgraded alchemy stones. However, the upgrade and the Blessed Soul Fragment will disappear if you fail the growth attempt on an upgraded alchemy stone.
- You can obtain Crystallized Despair x1 by extracting it from upgraded alchemy stone.

Monster Zone Info UI Rework

Monster Zone Info UI will be updated as mentioned during Calpheon Episode 2. We have improved the Monster Zone UI to easily check each Monster Zone Item Drop, Daily Quests, Knowledge, and other info in-game. The recently added Monster Zones can be checked with the hashtags and we are also preparing for an Adventurer's Board link function to check useful Monster Zone Info that was written by Adventurers or Monster Zone guides. We hope that Monster Zone Info UI is useful and improves our Adventurers' experience.

● Revised the Drop Item Info UI into the Monster Zone Info UI to check various info regarding Monster Zones.

- You can find Monster Zone Info UI in Menu (ESC) - Adventure (F5) - Menu (ESC) - Monster Zone Info.
- You can check Recurring Quests and Region Quests, Ecology Knowledge, and Title Info including item drop info that can be obtained in Monster Zones.
- Enable Navigation to auto-navigate to the quest acceptance location by clicking on the quest in the Recurring Quests section.
- Open the Knowledge UI by clicking on the Knowledge entry in the Ecology Knowledge section.
- Open the Title UI by clicking on a Title in the Title section.
- Search for the Monster Zone by searching the Monster Zone name or item drop name.
- Sort Monster Zones by selecting one of the characteristic filters (Region Quests, Party Zones, Elvia Realm, Marni's Realm) or the territory filter that it belongs to.
- The hashtags contain extra info regarding the distinct characteristics of the Monster Zone.

Arena of Solare Pre-Season 1 has ended. More Adventurers participated and enjoyed than we expected. Thank you for participating and enjoying regardless of some issues.

We will keep analyzing Adventurer’s gameplay results during this Pre-Season and adjust according to them. Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on June 8, 2022 (Wed).

Arena of Solare

"FREEDOM... to fight!"
The preseason for the Arena of Solare begins with today's update.
It's the first-ever 3 vs 3 PvP arena in Black Desert where all players battle for victory with equalized gear.
We will later let you know of our future plans for this content little by little.
I hope you can start enjoying PvP in Black Desert from today as you battle freely.

● The preseason for the Arena of Solare has begun.
- The Arena of Solare is a 3 vs 3 match-type PvP content that you can enjoy without having to worry about differences in gear specs.
- You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character that has completed the Succession/Awakening questline.
- You start with Arena of Solare exclusive gear and can unlock other pieces of gear to equip as you progress.
- You may either gain or lose points depending on the Arena of Solare match results, and will get Solare emblems depending on your score.
- You can use the "Find Match," "Set Gear," and "History" options of the Arena of Solare menu by going to Menu (ESC) -> War (F7).

How to Participate
● You can participate in the Arena of Solare from Lv. 60 with a character who has completed their Succession/Awakening questline.
- Press the "Find Match" button from the Arena of Solare menu for auto-matching.
- You will automatically enter the battlefield if all 6 participants accept after matching is complete.
- You can only start matching after equipping the exclusive gear.

Set Gear
● Adjust your exclusive gear loadout via the "Set Gear" feature from the Arena of Solare menu.
- You can select the gear you want to equip for the battlefield and also select crystals you want to equip on your gear from the "Set Gear" window.
- Early on, you have access to basic gear and crystals. You can later use "Seals of Solare" that you get once a match ends to unlock a variety of other gear and crystals.

Arena of Solare Rules
● For the Arena of Solare matches, the team with the best 3 out of 5 will win. You'll get a maximum of 3 minutes per round.
- The team with the higher total HP among the surviving members will win when the match ends.
- If the total HP is the same, the team with a higher total damage wins.
- The match will conclude in a tie if the total HP and total damage of both teams are the same.
● In the Arena of Solare, not only will you be provided with exclusive gear, but you also cannot use potions, meals, elixirs, etc. Also, the effects of certain skills will be adjusted.
- The stats for the Arena of Solare exclusive gear will be applied instead of the stats of the gear currently equipped to your character.
- You cannot use any type of potions. However, your character's default HP/MP/WP/SP recovery will greatly increase.
* The amount naturally recovered within the Arena of Solare will be similar to the recovery amount you get from using Ornette's or Odore's Spirit Essences with a Fairy that's acquired the skill "Miraculous Cheer V."
- Using skills that recover HP within the Arena of Solare battlefield will recover only half the amount normally recovered.
- In the Arena of Solare, the Guard Gauge, a defensive feature of all classes, will be equalized across classes.
- The AP, Damage Reduction, Accuracy, and Evasion stats will be halved for all characters.
- The remaining time for the effects of meals, elixirs, and perfumes will not be wasted. Their effects will instead be nullified and their time remaining paused while within the Arena of Solare if you used the items before entering. The effects will be applied again and the remaining time will resume being consumed upon returning to the previous location after the match's conclusion.
- The stats for your character's max HP will increase by 2,000 and your character's Critical Hit Rate, Attack and Casting Speed, Movement Speed will be at Lv. 5 while in the arena.
- Upon entering the battlefield, Black Spirit's Rage, HP, MP, SP, WP, cooldown, and other supplementary resources will all be recovered.
- The cooldown for Emergency Escape will reset each round.
- The "traces of elements" buffs for skills, exclusive gear, and the battlefield will only be applied in the arena.
- The Total Family Bonus from Adventure Journals will not be applied.

Battlefield
● You'll randomly enter one of the three battlefields for the Arena of Solare.

Olun's Valley

- The most basic battlefield in which you can test your skills without other variables.

Ruins of Tzol

- The battlefield where the Unknown Sphere and traces of elements of powerful forces appear.
You can command the battle if you use the Unknown Sphere well.

Areha Palm Forest

- Battlefield where the elemental traces, Flora's Breath and Wind's Song, appear.
You can command the arena if you use the elemental traces well.

Emblems of Solare / Match Points

● Your points will fluctuate depending how you perform in the Arena of Solare. You will be awarded an Emblem of Solare based on your point bracket.
* Everyone will start at 1150 points. Then you will earn points for every win and lose points for every loss.
- You can earn more points the longer you maintain a win streak.
- For Adventurers that reach the higher ranks, they will be deducted points depending on their rank if they do not participate in matches for a set period of time.
* Solare Incarnate V: If you do not participate in matches for 3 days, you will lose 30 points for each day afterward.
* Radiant Spear IV: If you do not participate in matches for 7 days, you will lose 20 points for every 3 days afterward.
* Twilight Spear III: If you do not participate in matches for 14 days, you will lose 15 points for every 7 days afterward.

Deserter Penalty
● If you leave a match before it has ended, you will need to use the reconnect window to return to the battlefield until the match ends.
● Penalty points are accrued depending on the circumstances behind you leaving a match.
- If you don't re-enter the match: deserter penalty gained
- Re-entered the match but lost: loss points gained
- Re-entered the match and won: victory points gained

Arena of Solare preseason Period
● You can only use matchmaking during the following hours in the Arena of Solare preseason.

Liana's Tool Bag

Valentine's Apprentices, Liana and her twin brother, Ludowig, have come up with an incredible invention.
The invention of "Liana's Tool Bag" will help Adventurers who enjoy Gathering to manage their inventories and Gathering tools.
The tool bag holds one of each type of Gathering tool. You can either press F5 or F6, or scroll your mouse wheel to conveniently engage in each type of Gathering activity by equipping the tool bag.
Many of our Adventurers have been wanting this for a while now, and we also have been wanting to develop it, which is why it's such a pleasure to finally present this item to our Adventurers with this week's update.
We recommend you fill up your Energy before proceeding with the quest to obtain Liana's Tool Bag as you'll need to pass a trivia quiz!

● "Liana's Tool Bag," a bag that automatically equips all tools held within to conveniently perform Gathering activities, has been invented.
- You can use the [Tool Bag] menu that will appear on the Inventory UI upon obtaining Liana's Tool Bag to store one of each type of Gathering tool.
* Lumbering Axe, Fluid Collector, Butcher Knife, Pickaxe, Hoe, and Tanning Knife

- The Interaction button for the proper Gathering materials will appear on the Ring Menu if you get close to the Gathering materials while Liana's Tool Bag with the Gathering tools is equipped in a slot.
- Use F5 or F6, or activate your mouse cursor and scroll the mouse wheel from the Ring Menu if you want to adjust settings for Interaction.
* Herbs: Barehanded Gathering ↔ Gathering via a Hoe
* Trees: Lumbering ↔ Collecting fluid
* Animals: Butchering ↔ Extracting ↔ Tanning
- The settings for Interaction for Gathering will be set until you re-adjust them.

● There's a rumor going around about how to obtain Liana's Tool Bag.
- Rumor says Adventurers who get recognized as a "knowledgeable Adventurer" by answering all of Liana's riddles correctly will receive a special bag invented by Valentine's Apprentices Liana and her younger twin brother, Ludowig.
- You can accept "[Tool Bag] Liana's Invention" from the Black Spirit from Lv. 49, then find Liana to accept and complete "[Tool Bag] Liana's Trivia" Part 1 and 2 to obtain Liana's Tool Bag (once per Family).

* [TIP] We suggest you prepare Energy Potions since a lot of energy may be consumed during the trivia quiz.

Item

● Added colors to item description backgrounds that match the grade of the item.

● Added the item "Cup of Earth's Sorrows" that can be crafted using materials dropped in Elvia Serendia.
- This item is used to upgrade earrings.

● Increased the maximum price of PEN (V) Blackstar main weapons, awakening weapons, and sub-weapons to 200,000,000,000 Silver.
- Due to this change, an improvement was made so that the max number of Marni's Unstable Fuel required for copying PEN (V) Blackstar gear will be fixed at 150.

Even though the maximum price of the PEN (V) Blackstar is getting increased to 200 billion Silver, we will keep the item copy cost the same as before. This is so we can uphold our intent in the update where we lowered copy prices by 50%.

● Increased the Central Market max price of the following upgrade items by 2,000,000,000 S\ilver:
- Cup of Arid Moonlight, Cup of a Lonely Cloud, Cup of Dwindling Starlight, Cup of Lone Tide, Cup of Tragic Nightfall

Quest, Knowledge

Kakuo's Paw-doodle Class Quests
● Added new [Residence] quests that rewards you with furniture containing the art of an brilliant up-and-coming Otter paw-doodler.
- Kakuo, a brilliant up-and-coming Otter paw-doodler, has arrived in Splashing Point (located south of Altinova, Mediah).
- Kakuo is a doodler who was found in Corsair's Slippery Scallywags Den. He is extremely determined in turning Splashing Point into Doodleton.
- Go to Kakuo in Splashing Point to accept a daily Family quest from Lv. 56. If you pay for the base cost along with the additional cost, you will obtain an artistically expressive paw-doodle portrait of each class.
* You will get the item "Kakuo's Certificate" by completing the "[Daily] Paw-doodling Kakuo!" quest.
* Go to Kakuo with the item "Kakuo's Certificate" in your possession to complete the "[Daily] Kakuo Paw-doodles for Real!" quest. You can get the class portrait of the class that completed the last quest.
- You need to go to Quests (O) > Quest Type and activate "Life" in order to accepts the quests "[Daily] Kakuo Paw-doodles!" and "[Daily] Kakuo Paw-doodles for Real!"
- The additional payments required by Kakuo depends on his mood that day. (However, forfeiting the quest then accepting it again won't change his mood nor the additional payments required for the day.)

Corsair Class-exclusive Kakuo's Paw-doodle Quest
● Go to Kakuo with a Corsair character that is Lv. 56 or higher and have completed her succession and awakening questline to accept the "[Residence] Paw-doodle" questline.
- You will see how Kakuo's memories with his Slippery Scallywags Cap'n Corsair inspired him to become the brilliant doodler to capture her greatness in his paw-doodle.
* You will need a ship to proceed with this questline. If you do not own a ship, complete the "[The Great Expedition] First Sailboat into Oquilla's Eye!" questline found in Quests (O) > Suggested to obtain a ship.
- Complete the questline with Corsair to get a Corsair portrait from Kakuo for free (once per family).
* You could get Corsair's portrait without completing this questline, however, Kakuo won't recognize you as his true Cap'n and will charge you full price for the portrait.
- Try decorating your residence with the wonderful works of the brilliant doodler Kakuo!
